The message changed everything. Damian increased security around Amelia immediately. But Marcus was already several steps ahead. That evening, Amelia went to the garden with two security officers nearby. Her phone rang. It was her father. “Dad?” No answer. Amelia stared at him. “Where is my father?” “Safe.” “You're lying.” “I have no reason to lie.” “What do you want?” “The ledger.” “You already have it.” “No.” Marcus smiled. “The original ledger is still with Damian.” Amelia's heart raced. “What will you do to him?” Marcus stepped closer. “Nothing, if you cooperate.” Amelia refused to look afraid. “You won't win.” Marcus laughed. “Your husband will come for you.” She stared at him. “That is exactly what I want.” Meanwhile, Damian stood in the mansion surrounded by security officers. He received a message. A photograph of Amelia. His blood ran cold. Underneath it were coordinates. Damian grabbed his jacket. “I'm going alone.” His security chief shook his head. “Sir, that's too dangerous.” Damian looked at him. “She is my wife.” Then he walked out.
