Maria sat quietly in Damian's study.
Amelia sat beside her.
“What does the symbol mean?” Damian asked.
Maria took a deep breath.
“It belonged to a secret financial group.”
“What group?”
“They called themselves The Circle.”
Damian frowned.
“Were they connected to Morgan?”
“Yes.”
“But Morgan is gone.”
“The organization was bigger than Morgan.”
Amelia felt uneasy.
“How many people were involved?”
“I never knew.”
“Then why didn't you tell us?”
“Because I thought they were finished.”
Damian looked at the symbol.
“Apparently not.”
Maria continued.
“They had influence in banks, companies, and government offices.”
“Do they still exist?”
“I don't know.”
A message suddenly appeared on Damian's phone.
You cannot destroy what you don't understand.
He showed Amelia.
She stared at the screen.
“It's them.”
Damian nodded.
That night, security was increased around the mansion.
But Amelia refused to be frightened.
“We already survived worse.”
Damian looked at her.
“I know.”
“You're worried.”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because this time, they aren't coming after my company.”
He paused.
“They're coming after our family.”
Amelia held his hand.
“Then we'll protect our family.”
Damian kissed her forehead.
“Together.”
