CHAPTER SEVEN Aramis and Mel found a ship heading down the coast and booked passage for a reasonable price. After several minutes of Mel complaining about not getting the food they had paid for, they returned to The Compass. The barkeep from the previous night was there preparing for the day’s business. He paused in his work upon seeing them. “I don’t much mind ruffians in here, but I won’t stand for trouble from anyone that’s been escorted out by the Lady’s guard.” “I completely understand,” Aramis replied. “Though I think there may be some confusion.
