∽ m i r a c l e ∽   It was now 6:45 in the morning. I was ready for school, just waiting for Kuya Mike. Nate didn't sleep here. Nothing happened yesterday, we only talked about the past. I smiled at our memories, yet it was a painful one. We were not sociable. It could take a year to trust someone. We got separated when we were already given different missions. Time check, 6:50 AM. I decided to wait for him at the parking garage. So I went out of the unit and started walking. As I walked, I could already sense a couple of eyes looking at me. They were like a beast hunting for their prey. Once I reached the parking lot with the unknown persons gazing intently at me, I felt a person aiming where my position was. And in just a second, the person released the shot. I bent down and pretended that I brushed the dirt on my shoes. In my peripheral view, a knife was dug on the wall. I smirked. That was a strong force. I heard that person growled in frustration—a male voice. I stood up straight, and one by one, they appeared on my sights. Observing my surroundings, they were eight, wearing all black clothes. I wore my innocent expression, and then faced them. "Who are you?" I asked with a blank, candid voice. The guy in my front smirked, "How are you, Sinful Miracle?" My lips curled up mentally. I secretly opened my senses. I should be on full alert. I had no time for letting my guard down. They were gangsters—sort of lame assassins. Wussy people. But I should be mindful that never underestimate an opponent. "What are you talking about?" I said, hiding the mock in my voice. "I'm not whom you’re pertaining to." "Enough with your denials. We already know who you are.” I smirked inwardly. "Really?" Then there was no need for me to hold back? “Why must fight me?” They say that I'm a woman without a soul when I kill. My status in this society could be a reason for someone’s adversity. To those who opposed me was a clear path to hell. We were here in the public place. Roaming my eyes around, there were seven CCTVs in this parking garage. I saw one smirked. "Who knows? The reason might be the same as yours.” And in just a nick of time, he started to assault me. I gave him a proud look and gracefully defended his attack by blocking his fist with my forearm. I sensed his guard lowered down a bit. But that was an opportunity for me. I surprised him with my passionate punch to his stomach. He cried in pain as he coughed saliva. He fell on his knees while holding his stomach. I grabbed a ballistic knife hidden on my leg pouch. I had to keep some self-defense stuff for this kind of situation. I threw my knife with a precise force, directly hitting his leg. I quickly ran towards him and held the dagger that dug completely on his flesh. I twisted the dagger first before I pulled it out. Blood immediately gushed down and then I kicked his jaw. Taking another knife, I hit the other one in his inner leg—a vital spot—then run to him and stabbed him in the stomach. After that, I picked the knives again and faced the other guy. I shot him in his underarm. That was a critical vital spot and it caused him to bleed severely. Then they attacked me simultaneously. I scoffed, enough for them to hear me. I briskly grabbed the hand of the fifth person, I twisted it to render him immobile and then elbowed him hard between his chests. That caused him to breathe improperly and faint instantly. I paid my attention to the sixth person and kicked his diaphragm with the terrifying sound of a thud. Well, he coughed blood for that. And lastly, the seventh guy. I eyed him with my pitiful look. Yes, he looked like pity. "My, my. Who am I again?" I formed an evil smirk to my face. He couldn't answer but to shudder to death. "Such a waste, isn’t it?" I told him with my chin up, looking down on him. "You all must be looking for death, don’t you all? Well, I think it is better to be killed than killing your own pathetic lives, huh? And I really, really detest that. Those who never give importance to their lives should be rewarded by cruelty." "I have never been scared of you!" he sputtered. I raised an unsatisfied brow, "Oh, how courageous," and crooned with a boastful tone. "Then that’ll make me happy, seeing you bathing with your own preciously cheap blood." Now, I could see fear through his eyes. They said that they were never afraid of death, but once facing it, all they could do was to beseech for salvation. Utterly annoying. "What now? Are you going to run like a scampering little mouse, huh?" He was in a panic. He wanted to run . . . but before he could run, a gunshot blew and it was coming to his way. And he was shot on the left side of his chest. My eyes followed the owner of the g*n. "Kuya Mike," I muttered. "Get in the car," he ordered and his voice was full of authority. He was so darn serious. I quickly climbed in the car, while he was calling someone. He talked for about a minute and then entered inside. "I already called the Specialized Waste and Control Unit and they're on the way. I also talked to Ivan to hack the CCTVs here." I only nodded and remained silent. Ivan was our analyst; and at the same time, our cousin. Same age as Kuya Mike. "Don't go to school, we'll go straight to my office. These things should end as soon as possible," he told me while driving at a high pace. "Fine with me," I answered in a small voice. Maybe, he didn't like what he witnessed a while ago. Having a chatter with an enemy. About the Specialized Waste and Control Unit, it was a bureau to clean the corpses. In a basic meaning, they were the cleaners of our mess. Since it was a part of our group, they were also unassailable by society. We arrived at the company, Kuya Mike dragged me straight to his office. I sat on the sofa while he sat across to where I was settled. "Start telling the whole story." His voice was serious. He was like this in times, becoming so intimidating. I took a deep breath. I started talking, explaining, and telling him anything that happened before he came. "This is a serious thing," he said as he clenched his jaw. "And they know who you are." "Well, I wonder how." I shrugged. Kuya Mike frustratedly sighed, "I should assign someone to investigate this situation. They also saw your uniform." "Ah, right. Call the Unit if they arrested them." I commanded him. Well, I could also be that bossy. "Hang on," he replied, standing up. Kuya Mike picked his phone from his pocket and started dialing. Then he started talking to someone. Few minutes after he looked at me. I returned the gazes, asking him: What now? He only smirked, "Yeah, the Unit got ‘em.” "I guess that I’m still safe." I pursed my lips. "Yeah, for now," he muttered. "By the way, you have to pack your things up. It’s not safe anymore to live alone." "Got that." I only agreed. "I'll get my things later." "No, it's dangerous!" he interjected. I eyed him confusingly. Why was he so outrageous? "I also asked someone to get your things, so no worries." I scoffed. "I don’t know if I’d be amazed or weirded out by your control freaky antics." "Nah, just be amazed, princess," he cooly replied. "After all, I’m the most awesome Kuya you’ll ever have." I snorted, chuckling in the process. "Conceited. You and Nate.” He chuckled while leaning his back on the couch. "That runs on our blood, can’t do anything about it.” "Whatever," I replied in a mousy voice. "Well," Kuya Mike stated as he grunted, standing up. "Have a rest here, Hime, and I'm going to work. If you need anything, ask my secretary." "I will," I answered. "You better go." "Bye." He smiled and kissed my forehead before he left. I sighed. For sure, Nate would be worried if I’m still not in the school at the moment. I then grabbed my phone for me to call him. But . . . "Nah, if he’s really worried, he should call me," I muttered to myself. Suddenly, my phone rang. Aha, speaking of.   ~ ♕ ~   ∽ c h a n c e ∽   We were here in the corridor with the g**g, talking about the Natsumi Montero. "The girl is unbelievable. She said that the reason why she broke the windshields of the car because she was bored. A total badass, I like her, " said Justine with a smirk on his face. If I were to ask, she was trouble—a real one. "I wonder where is she now? I haven’t seen her since yesterday," Sean mused out of the blue. He was worried, huh? "Sean," Nathan called his name sternly. "Are you having a crush on her? Also you, Justine! How could you?!" Nathan suddenly became furious, emitting a murderous aura towards Sean and Justine. “How could I what?” Justine retorted, surprised. “You’re not supposed to like her!” Nathan bawled out. All of us eyed him bewilderingly. He was acting out of the character. “Well, well, don’t tell me, you also like her, Nate?” Justine uttered, he had a sneer on his face. “She’s kinda aloof, but that’s her greatest charisma.” "Right," Sean chimed enthusiastically. “Her beautiful honey-colored eyes with long, voluminous eyelashes is what I like her the most!” With that, Nathan showed a clear sign of annoyance as though he didn’t like what was happening. He had that protective attitude towards the trouble. I just shook my head. I’d just let them mind their own drama. Later that day, Nathan started to act abnormally and uneasy as if he was feeling his stomach churning in. "What’s the problem, Nate?" It was Yaehl who spoke first. “Does your stomach upset you?” Same thoughts. “It’s not, dumbass!” he gruffly replied. "Ah, whatever. I’ll just go and make a call." He dismissed the topic blankly. Yaehl shrugged his shoulders, he didn't want to inquire any longer. I knew that there was something on his mind, but he was too reluctant enough to tell it to everyone. Maybe it was too confidential that he wouldn’t tell anyone. It was all right, I respected his decision. Then he left. Once he was away, I followed him secretly. He hid behind a tree nearby. I went to the place not afar from him with my presence in secrecy. I saw him contacted someone and drew his phone near his ear. "Hime." It was his answer as soon as the call was on. He said ‘Hime’. As far as I knew, the person he only called ‘Hime’ was Natsumi. "Are you not going to school again?" It was still Nathan, trying his voice to be calm and cool. He was fidgeting a bit, worrying that he'd be a laughingstock if someone finds out that he was a worrywart. Well, that Worried Nathan was an unattractive sight, especially to us. And this Natsumi . . . she could make the Primus worried. She must be very important to him."Today? Why? What do you mean manor? You’re changing location? Why?" he was agitated and bit astounded. "Fine, fine. I understand." he mused in low voice. He must have lost the argument. "Just be safe, okay? I got a bad feeling a while ago." Now I understood. The reason why Nathan was antsy a while ago because he thought that something bad was happening to his Hime. That girl was something. Nathan was kinda protective while Sean and Justine were proclaiming their attraction towards her. And the mere fact that he had this intuition that she was in trouble, they must be in a relationship. And why the hell Nathan couldn’t tell us that? Nathan’s faces lit up, he was smiling. And his smile had an adoration. He laughed and mumbled something. I might not hear it, but I read the movement of his lips. He mouthed, "I love you, too, Hime." No more speculations. That answered all the questions. I quickly composed myself and left the area where I was watching Nathan. I had to go back before Nathan found out that I was tailing him. Later that day, the bell rang, and classes would start in a minute. I went back to where the g**g was. I came first, and a few seconds after, Nathan arrived. "Come! It's our first subject." He invited us and we followed him. He was all smiles now. Nathan was a close friend to me, thus he went beside me, putting a hand around my shoulder. "I called Natsumi. She said that she won't make it today. She's sick." I gave him a bewildering expression. "Why are you telling me that?" He was a bit offended when I said that. "I just said, so that you know." I ignored him, shrugging my shoulders. What was he trying to show? That I was affected because of that? He was wrong. They were in a relationship, and I didn’t intend to meddle between them. "Tch," he only hissed and stayed away from me. What a weird fellow. Eventually, the whole day went smoothly. Natsumi's friends were wondering why she was absent again. If my memory served me right, these two ladies—Natsumi’s friends—were Miss Richardson and Miss Harris. I glanced at the Prime Nathan Twain. He became my friend once he saved from some violent kids. He told me that I was a soft youngster before and he couldn't stand seeing something like that. One time, there were some older and bigger kids—they were making fun of me. In the middle of the heated situation, he meddled between the fight. He saved him from all the bullies. And that time, he told me to stand up and fight back in time comes. I was a year older than him, but he acted like a grown-up kid. He could fight well. I thought that we wouldn’t meet again, and in all out of the blue, he appeared, asking me if I wanted to be strong. I accepted it and he taught me all the things he had learned from the family of assassins. I was all aware of his hidden backgrounds. I was the only one who knew that. The whole Cold Warriors members did not know that. I knew him first before the for came. Yet I never knew him that well. I only knew that he was a reaper. And as for his family, I only knew that he had an older brother. His name was Mike, and I was very fond of him. Even the other four boys. Kuya Mike was a cool brother that everyone wanted to have, even us Sean, Justine, Yaehl, and Kieffer. Mike Twain was a Master of None, he could do everything. When he had this free time, he would meet us to challenge us for a duel—whether a combat fighting, airsoft match, sports match, even in drag racing, but we couldn’t beat him. Well, I must say, Nathan’s family was extra-ordinary.   ↭ ♡ ↭ handtheirend
