The names are ringing in my head. After visiting Riccio in prison, Tancredi and I had to get over our astonishment.
Could it really be possible that the person responsible for Alvarado’s death was Raia? And, if there were to be an investigation, would we have to defend Riccio who had given us a legal mandate as defence counsel or Raia who I’d have to assist in the Salus case? The answer’s tormenting me and giving me no peace at all.
Whether in a sudden surge of sincerity or with a clear intent of defence, Riccio named both Raia and Eugenio De Sanctis.
But the question Tancredi and I have to answer is whether these two can really clear Riccio or should they simply represent distractions for the Public Prosecutor.
