June I jerked awake, wishing it was all a dream but the way every part of me ached or felt like it was on fire, I knew this was the current state of affairs. My head throbbed with remnants of a migraine while my throat felt like it was replaced by sandpaper. I moved my hands to my face- at least I tried to- but soon gave up after finding out they were cuffed behind me. I hated how weak I was, I couldn’t see, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t even call for help, all I could do was lie on the cold hard ground.
