In the belly of the dome, Florentine and Drew huddled together in the pale wash of moonlight filtering through the windows. Sunlight had glittered gold in the dome as the sun set and brother and sister were mesmerised. With the sun and any traces of its warmth gone, the pair shivered. Reflections, tinged with the blue of the stained glass, gave off an eerie watery effect. ‘I’m freezing. Let’s go,’ Drew said.
