Fifteen year old, Nikki Young rested her head over the taxi's window. Breathing the stale cigarette smoke that clings all over the leather seat, her mind were wondering the same thing over and over again, how did they find them? Closing her eyes for the nth time, Aunt Trina's b****y face greeted her once again. Like a broken film, it never stopped appearing. And Nikki knows that this night's tragedy will follow her for eternity as long as she breaths. A nightmare that she will never wake up from no matter how she wishes to... Straightening her back, she let her mind shift away from her Aunt's gruesome death. But with a heavy breath, another thought plagued her again. It seems running away was what she had been doing ever since she could remember. When her mother was killed last year by the same group of people she also ran with her tail between her legs. A coward way out, she knows. But she doesn't have a choice. They were people she can't win against, even she fight till her last breath. To accomplished everything her mother had asked her in her dying breathe, she needed to be ruthless even to her own self. Though, watching the people she loved died one by one always kill a part of herself. Nikki doesn't have a choice but to grit her teeth and bear with the pain. Her melancholic reminiscing of the past were suddenly cut off when the taxi suddenly stop. With hurried movement she step out of the vehicle and without looking back run inside the building in front of her... Stopping, she took a shuddering breath. Airports still make her uncomfortable, even after being in a lot number of them for the past few years. There's a lot of people to keep eye on, and having falsified documents doesn't help either. It's always risky. She knew that she can trust her contacts, but it's still make her on edge. Breathing deeply, she grit her teeth and take a step forward. Nothing will happen if she stop moving now. For her plans, she needs to bear the unbearable. Walking towards the reception area, she let her first step for revenge takes place... ***** Black paws padded against the grassy ground. Red eyes scanning the forest warily. His ears pricked, alerting him with the smallest sound possible. They've been tracking the wild boar since early morning and with the sounds he can hear, their efforts would finally pay off. Behind him three werewolves were waiting patiently ready to attack as their alpha's command. It's Kane first hunt and he is determined to accomplished it perfectly. Kane pounced when he heard the snap of wooden twigs through his left. The others coming in, sorrounding the boar ready to assist. But it's not needed. With a grace unlike the others Kane had already buried his fangs to the boars neck after dodging its sharp tusk with ease. It died quick, didn't even have the time to fight him off. With a heave, the boar breathed its last, it's eyes turning dull and glassy. Turning his head upwards he released a triumph howl that vibrated through the forest. And at the distance he can hear his pack mates answering howls. With a shudder, he shifted back to his human form and the others did the same as well. With a smirk Kane look at his left, "What do you think? Did I do well?" Shrugging his long blonde hair the man lift his brows at him, "Well, it's alright I guess.." "Alright?!" the red haired one grumbles. "Liam, you did see Kane right? He killed it man! And he did it so effortless I can't believe it's his first!" Kane just smile and shake his head. "Ryan, it is Liam. You know him. That kind of performance will not cut it." "Oh my God! I can't believe you guys! You're saying that Kane can do more than that. But come on.." "Well if Liam have to explain all the details of what Kane should have done but didn't, it will take us a very long time before we finished here. So how about we start cutting this boar so that we can go back. You can ask him again at the pack house if you really want to know Ryan." "Jude you bastard, I know that's sarcasm-" he yelled back, turning at his right he whispered "That's what it is call right, Liam?" Kane let out a chuckle. With a shake of his head he looked at the young men before him. They're his friends since he was still a cub and now after 18 years they were still close. Their relationship is unheard of. Weird and not usually happens in a pack. Kane being an Alpha, the others should have been more respectful of him. And not treat him like any other beta. But he is not like the others. He do not want the others to regard him with high status. And he never wished to be treated with false respect but actually fear him in secret. He want their honest allegiance and not just fake friendship. And from what Kane can see, he have it with them. "Kane you can start skinning it before it became dark." Or not. "Come on, don't just stand there. Do it. And please make it fast. Ugh, I really, really hate it here." With a sigh. He raise his right hand and make a partial shift. His claws getting longer and sharper. "Ouch! Liam did you just slap me!" "Well, there's a mosquito in your face." "Really?" Looking at them, he let out another sigh. He still has a long way to go. _____ "Well done, son!" Kane beams at his father as he clapped his shoulder. Alpha Gregory Knightley smile at him proudly. At 38, and 6'5 he emits an imposing aura that commend respect and fear. But he knew better. His father might be strict and harsh. But he is also loving and forgiving. His mother small and fragile in stature, the exact opposite of his mate but a woman you would never liked to cross. She is strong as human and viscous as a wolf. And even Kane himself would admit that he fears his mother wrath than his fathers'. Though with them standing side by side welcoming them with a smile, Kane can not help but be proud of himself. Proud that he did good in his first hunt knowing he had not let them down. With a happy yelp, Jared his younger brother jump at him, not even minding the b****y meat he's carrying. "Brother you did it!" Kane laugh at his brother antics, and didn't even complain at the extra weight. With ease he carry Jared with affection, telling him his latest action. Walking further down, they passed the thick cemented fence protecting the whole residential area of the pack. Turning to a clear path, luxury cabins started to appear beside the roads, after a minute they arrived at the very center of the small village housing most of the highest rank members of their pack. This place was their sanctuary when the life in the city became too much. His father, Gregory Knightley is known to the humans as a billionaire. A Tycoon with billion of wealth and businesses all over the Globe. But right now, he's simply their Alpha, the leader of their small pack. And his adopted father. At the large open area, Kane already saw his pack members working the large pit where they can roast and cook the meat they brought. Kane gently lowered his brother. Then he removed the big wooden basket behind his back and give it to Rein, a young beta. The others also lowered their cargo to the other betas, so that the meat can be clean and cooked. "Go ahead and take a rest, Kane." his mother said patting his arm. "I will call you when the food is ready." Kane nodded gratefully and slipped out of the crowd, his friends tagging along. But before he could completely walk away a frantic cry stop him. "Alpha!" He saw Liam frown. Jude also stop walking and Ryan yelp a painful cry when he smack at Kane's back. "Ugh, what the hell? Kane why do you stop walking?" Turning around, "Sorry Ryan, but I heard someone calling my father." with a quick stride he return to where he came from. A beta Enforcer is talking with his father, his face is pale and his body shaking. Kane can not hear what they are talking but if the change in his father's expression had to go by its clearly not a happy news. A murderous voice thundered, Kane felt his wolf whine and a lot of his pack mates fall on their knees shaking from fear. But when he heard the words that came from his father, he knew that every one felt justified from his father's sudden outburst. And for the first time, he can feel the thirst for blood. His inner wolf bearing its teeth, fighting to be let out. They want revenge. They're out for blood. "An omega is dead?!" ______________________ "You have to come." Jena pleads with her shrilly voice. Honestly, Calvin Knightley didn't knew what he saw in her but apparently she was so good in making him feel good, that he keeps on sleeping with her even if she's a bit annoying at times. "I know that you are probably so busy with other stuff, the team or whatever but without the crew the party will be boring without you guys there." "You already know that I don't have the time, so why insist?" His voice were dripping with so much sarcasm, Calvin knew she'd be too dumb to not notice. "Ugh," she hisses shoving her t**s in front of his face. "When did you become such an ass.." Apparently, she's that dumb. He can feel his eyes turning more sharper from his growing annoyance. Lowering his phone, he snap his head her way and gave her a narrowed look. "I won't repeat myself. So get the f**k off.." Calvin can see she wanted to retaliate. To talk back. And he was waiting for it. She was a good lay, and he's been waiting for a reason to dump her but she's so persistent, he's having a hard time cutting ties with her. "Ugh.. Fine. Do whatever you want. " With a heavy grunt she stomp away. And there it goes again. Sometimes Calvin can't decide if Jena is truly an idiotic girl, or an incredibly cunning woman. It seems she knows when to push or pull away from different situations. But he knew that sooner than later he really needs to break up with her. This relationship had become such a pain in his a*s for a while now. "You're really not going?" Calvin's inner musings were suddenly interrupted by a familiar voice. With a raise brow he looked at the person who just came in. "And what's it to you?" "Just now. That's Jena right? I thought you already break up with her?" With a sigh he took his phone and started scrolling on his social media account. He didn't said anything else, disregarding the person who just came in. Rey Valerde's mouth twitch with the blatant display of Calvin's arrogance. He's been like this ever since they were little. Calvin as one of the heir of the Knightley's, the wealthiest family all over America, and one of the son of their Alpha Gregory had been always arrogant. Well, growing up with that kind of family, anyone would end up like him. Not that he'd been spoiled since he was little. On contrary, anything he wished to have, he always work hard for it. That's why he's arrogant. Because he knew that if he wanted to obtain something, he would always get it in the end. That's how hard working he is. Although, he was a total d**k and a certified player, no one can't refute that he doesn't deserve to be respected. On the other hand, his brother Kane is the total opposite of him. That guy was overly friendly and even a bit naive at times that's why Calvin make it a point to silently looked after him at school even though he knew Kane hated his guts. He was always been like that, and a lot of people were fooled by his carefree attitude but those people who were his friends since childhood knew that he's not that shallow. That Calvin Knightley is more honorable than any werewolf they knew. But disregarding his best friend of ten years.. Things no matter how long still remains unchanged. "Geez man. I'm not feeling the love. How can you be so cruel to your one and only best friend?" Still no answer. With growing bitterness, Rey step inside the door and close the door behind him. His facial expression changing as he came near his friend. "You should know why I'm here." Finally, he heard a curt reply. "Knowing you, I could guess." It seems after all this year there's still no trust between them. With a heavy sigh, Rey throw a brown envelope in front of Caleb. Even feeling smug with his cool attitude. "Look into that and you will know." Throwing his muscular body in the chair in front of his friend's table, he smirk at Caleb, clearly enjoying his friend's sudden interest. Placing his book on the side. He take the brown envelope with sudden interest. Brows rising, Rey can see Caleb's hands started shaking. His smirk were now gone. Rey slowly stood up and started walking and stop beside his friend. "Calvin..." "Is this true... but how?? What the hell happened??!!!" Rey is expecting that he would react this way. But he's not expecting to see the arrogant Caleb to look so broken with the news he'd brought. "I'm sorry Cal, but I did everything I could. Sadly it's already too late. When I found her, she's already dead... She's already the fifth one...." Calvin looked at the papers infront of him and frowned. Another Omega was killed. And this time it's a woman he personally knew.. Janette Gomez. An Omega. Who was destined to be his.. *********
