Chapter 6
The first faint light of dawn crept through the massive windows of Luca’s office. Raina had barely slept, her mind racing nonstop. The choice he had given her—the choice between marrying him or dying—loomed over her like a dark cloud.
She pressed her hands to her face, trying to calm the whirlwind of fear, panic, and confusion. How can I marry him? she thought. How could I ever live like this, in his world, under his control?
The door opened silently behind her. Luca stepped in, dressed in black, every inch the dangerous, untouchable man he always was. His eyes locked onto hers, dark and unreadable.
“Time is almost up,” he said softly, voice like ice. “Decide now, Raina. Your hesitation… could cost you everything.”
Her stomach churned. “I… I can’t,” she whispered, voice trembling.
He took a slow step closer, the shadow of his presence filling the room. “You can,” he said. “Because the alternative is death.”
Raina’s chest tightened. Fear and desperation collided. She wanted to fight, scream, escape—but she knew every option had already been taken from her. This was his world. His rules. And she had no choice but to follow.
Her mind raced, searching for a way out, a loophole, anything—but there was nothing. Luca’s gaze was unwavering, his calmness terrifying.
“I…” she began again, shaking, “I… I’ll do it. I’ll marry you.”
He didn’t smile. He didn’t move. He simply nodded, his eyes cold but not cruel. “Good,” he said quietly. “You made the choice that keeps you alive. That was smart.”
Raina’s hands trembled as relief and fear collided inside her. She was alive… but nothing had truly changed. She was still trapped, still in his world, still at his mercy.
“And now,” Luca continued, voice low and sharp, “you will learn what it means to live in my world. Survival is only the beginning. Obedience… is only the start.”
Raina swallowed hard. She had chosen life. But in choosing life, she had also chosen a man who was dangerous, unpredictable, and impossible to resist.
The office felt colder than ever. Shadows stretched across the walls, and Raina realized, with a sinking certainty, that nothing in her life would ever be the same.
She had survived the ultimatum. But the real test—of loyalty, courage, and heart—was only just beginning.
