Chapter Three (Part Three)

Although it was his idea, he made his father believe that it was his, and he was more than relieved when he agreed. All was going as planned until he heard from the hospital what had happened to Zarah. He booked the ticket the same day he heard about the news. When he got to the hospital, he instructed the doctors not to let anyone see her since she didn't have immediate family. For the time that she was there, he would be by her side, working beside her. He could barely focus on his work, but life had to move on. He smiled when he remembered her saying that. "But she only had two shots?" Sofi asked with disbelief. "Yeah, she's tipsy for sure, but we definitely don't want her to have more than what she already had. Okay, my love, water?!" Marce asked, and Zarah's face lit up. She pursed her lips in a kissing shape and made a kissing sound, and with horror, Ha-Neul watched as Marce's lips touched hers just for a millisecond. Although it was just a peck, he couldn't help but be upset. "So she goes around kissing everyone?" Suzy asked. "Nope, she wouldn't let me even if I pay her a billion-dollar. It's just when she's drunk. And I don't know what your deal is, but your beef is with Ha-Neul. I tried to keep quiet, but you are starting to get on my nerves." Marce snapped at Suzy. "My love?!" Zarah said as she pulled on Marce's shirt. "Yes, my love," he replied as if they were a couple. "Be nice. Please..." she said with a smile. "Yes. Starting now." Marce said and assisted her to the living room and sat her down on the floor. When she reached for the bottle of alcohol, he took it away from her and hid it behind a chair. "You want to play a game?" Marce asked. Her face lit up at the sound of the word game, and she nodded her head like a little child. "Damn, you are so beautiful!" Marce said, and Zarah frowned. "Game! It's called how long you can stay still without touching anything till I come back, okay." Marce said as he got on both of his knees, getting ready to get up. Zarah smiled and nodded her head. She looked around the room, and she shook her head at how huge it was. After a few minutes, Marce came to the living room with a glass of water. Looking at him, she took the glass off his hands and drank it. 'Now I see him as a friend, a friend I never asked for.' She thought to herself. She looked up at the ceiling and whispered a soft "thank you." When she looked back down, everyone looked at her, but Alexei was nowhere to be found.
