Raiden shuffles towards Davon as a guy sits down to his left. Davon glances across due to the movement.
'Hi, I'm Callaway,' the guy says.
'What?' the pair ask confused.
'My name is Callaway. That's Narah, over there, she's here because she became incapable of looking after herself after her baby died two days after birth. Those two are Rayan and Rosemary; they're twins who are weird, they're here because they murdered their dad who had locked them in the basement for six years. You guys are new.'
'Someone else spoke to us earlier, and it certainly wasn't any of you, and it certainly wasn't you seeing as you both claim to be Callaway,' Davon says as Raiden watches the twins with wide eyes.
'Oh, that was Doctor Caruso. We were in the middle of a conversation because it was my session when Amalthea came in and told him that you two were waking up. I have a habit of pretending to be him so I can find out the gossip of the newbies here.'
Davon says nothing in response but watches the guy suspiciously.
Raiden looks at the guy curiously. 'You mentioned all the others and why they're here but not yourself. Why?' Raiden questions.
'NDA,' the guy comments as he eats his food carefree.
'What the hell did you do to have to sign a non-disclosure agreement?'
The guy shrugs a shoulder with a slight smirk. His eyes flick down the corridor as his fingers dance over his wrist holding the fork. 'I'll have to tell you later when we aren't observed.'
'You'll have to tell them what?' a woman asks behind them making Raiden yelp and almost fall into Davon's lap.
Davon looks at the woman curiously, realising she is a vampire also. 'Why do you need to know?' Davon replies.
'Amalthea, we know each other better than this. There's no need to eavesdrop my conversations for the Doctor, I tell him anyway,' Callaway states. 'You scared the poor thing more than I did and that's an achievement for one statement of yours.'
The woman grits her jaw before looking at Davon and Raiden curiously. 'What are your names?' Amalthea asks.
'Why should we tell you?' Raiden replies.
'Yeah, why should they tell you? I'm somewhat curious, what are your names?' Callaway comments, his posture firm towards Amalthea but then he looks at the pair curiously.
'You have not gotten their names yet? You're slipping, aren't you?' Amalthea says.
'I'm not sticking my nose in everyone's business because I need to set boundaries which I have and when they feel like they can tell me their names they can. So up yours, nosey bitch.'
'Excuse me?'
'You heard.'
'Everyone did,' Rosemary adds before her eyes ravage through Davon and Raiden. Her head tilts. 'The new meat looks good.'
'And you cannot touch the new meat. They've got the red tops, means they're unknown and suspicious circumstances,' Rayan comments.
'Damn, they look juicy.'
'Everything does when you can't have it.'
Amalthea backs off, going down the corridor Callaway was watching as he still does, a scowl marring his face as she disappears into a room.
A slight touch to his hair jolts Raiden. 'It's okay, sweetheart, they won't hurt you here,' Narah whispers reassuringly as Davon watches her suspiciously.
'Leave Raiden alone,' Davon says before realising his slip up on the name.
Rosemary tilts her head and looks at Rayan who is already watching her. 'Yeah, we had a kid called Raiden before he killed it,' Rayan muses.
Raiden gags while Callaway screws his nose up. 'There are some things people don't want to know, that's one of them,' Callaway points out.
'Did you want a nausea tablet, honey?' Narah asks Raiden, crouching by his seat.
Raiden shakes his head, unable to trust his voice and his eyes dart to Davon.
'Guys, back off,' Callaway warns quietly.
'As you and Amalthea should do so we can show the doctor what it's like to have s*x?' Rosemary states.
The mood in the room snaps in an instant. Eyes go between Callaway and the twins as Callaway slowly stands up. 'Excuse me?'
'You heard, prostitute,' Rayan retorts.
'Says you,' Callaway comments.
Raiden watches the trio cautiously, wondering which one he would have to grab first. Davon moves Narah away so she cannot get hurt before standing behind Raiden.
Rosemary's head tilts as she watches Callaway. 'Someone has a hard spot for the doctor, it's a shame it's soft about you but hard about Amalthea,' Rosemary sneers.
A growl leaves Callaway's throat before he tackles Rosemary to the floor, making sure her head hits the ground before punching her as much as possible.
Raiden frowns slightly knowing that something is enhancing Callaway's human abilities, but he cannot understand what.
Davon grabs Rayan and throws him towards two of the nurses who hold him back. Carefully he moves towards Callaway, Raiden instinctively mirroring his movements on Callaway's other side. 'Callaway,' Davon says.
'Cal?' Raiden asks before the tension drops when a scream of terror leaves Callaway's throat. The vampire pales at the noise and his eyes dart to Davon before going back to Callaway who had stumbled back into the table.
'No, no, no, no! Not again. Shut up,' Callaway screams, his voice getting continuously louder.
The once lively twins look withdrawn as if they know the pain Callaway is going through and it delivers another stab in the gut to Raiden. He cautiously moves closer, reaching out for Callaway's wrist and brushing the spot he noticed Callaway touching earlier. 'Callaway.' something burns in the depths of Callaway's hazel eyes as their eyes lock. 'I'm sorry.'
Callaway's tense shoulders sag slightly out of relief, allowing him to let go of some of the tension. 'We'll talk later, I need to talk to Caruso,' Callaway mumbles, withdrawing his arms and wrapping them around his waist.
Raiden watches the retreating human as he goes down the corridor. 'This is weird,' Raiden mumbles knowing Davon stands behind him.
'We'll get out, don't worry,' Davon whispers.
