Chapter 3

The miles flew by as Jill snacked and they chatted about nothing and everything, just relaxing like they hadn’t in way too long. Before she knew it, Wayne pulled into a quant little B and B nestled in oak trees on a small hill. Jill knew the ocean had to be just over the rise from the main building. Several small cottages could be seen situated away from the main house. A valet strolled over to the car as Wayne came around to open the door for Jill. “ It wasn’t someone being chivalrous,” Jill thought. We had reservations for the overview chalet. Wayne told the valet. “Of course” came the quick reply, “Shall I take your bags over?” “Please” replied Wayne, sliding some cash to the valet. Wayne led Jill into the main lodge and she walked around while he checked in. Dinner isn’t quite ready yet. Should we walk around for a bit? Wayne asked, holding out his arm. Jill smiled and wrapped herself in his side. Jill froze as they stepped out the back door. Before her was a large patio with a breathtaking view of the sea below them. The sun was just starting to set, and a gentle breeze filled with salt completed her rapture. Wayne led her to the edge of the patio where stone steps wound away down to the shoreline. Wayne slid in behind her and wrapped his arms around her. Gently kissing her neck, he whispered in her ear “As soon as I saw this sight on their website I knew I had to bring you here.” Jill stood entranced by the view, the warm breeze swirled around her legs and suddenly she was reminded she was COMMANDO! She quickly looked down and hoped no one was coming off the stairs or she might have given them quite a view as well. Relieved to see no one around, she placed her hands firmly in front of her. The chuckle in her ear from Wayne told her he knew exactly what she was thinking. She really wanted to glare at him, but that involved looking away from the view and it didn’t seem worth it. After a moment, Wayne released her, “Enjoy the view while I check on dinner”, he said. Jill sighed and for once happily did as requested. Shortly after, Wayne returned and handed her a glass of wine. We can go in anytime you like but they aren’t busy, so why don’t you enjoy the view here and I will be right back. Without waiting for a response, Wayne stepped off the patio and disappeared around the corner of the building. Jill wondered for a moment where he was in such a hurry to go, but decided with wine and sunset it really didn’t matter. Finding a comfy lounge chair, she settled into watching the sunset. Jill was just finishing her wine when Wayne re-appeared with a sweater draped over his arm. “I’m thinking you might want this as the temperature drops after dark.” He said, hanging it over her shoulders as she stood up. Jill leaned in and pulled Wayne down for a kiss. “Thank you for this” she said. “Don’t thank me yet” that Wayne replied with a twinkle in his eye. “The weekend has just begun. Lots of things are planned for tomorrow.” “Like what?” Jill questioned. “You will just have to follow my lead and be surprised.” Wayne replied with that same twinkle. “Come on, I’m hungry.” Wayne intertwined his fingers with hers and pulled her towards the dining room. Dinner turned out to be yet another delight. A quiet table beside the fireplace next to a big bay window overlooking the shoreline. A friendly older couple stopped by the table and introduced themselves as the owners and welcomed them. The menu was simple but everything sounded divine and, in the end, tasted divine. Finishing with a dessert cart, that made her wish she had started there. She settled for fresh strawberry short cake with freshly made whipped cream. As she moaned in pleasure from the taste, Wayne mused aloud if they should get another serving of that whipped cream for later, earning him an eyeroll. “Didn’t think you liked strawberry shortcake,” she quipped. “I just want the whipped cream on the cherry pie I plan on eating later tonight.” Wayne replied with a leer. Leaning back, Wayn glanced under the table and said “Yep, it looks delicious.” Jill felt her face flush as she quickly looked around to see if anyone had overheard him. Speechless at being caught off guard. Suddenly, she was acutely aware of the fact her panties were lying on the roadside somewhere. Blatantly ignoring her glare, Wayne called for the check. Long day tomorrow? What do you say we head back to our cottage? Jill nodded and thought, strangely enough, she hadn’t even seen the cottage yet. Usually she likes to settle in, unpack and take a moment to settle down after a long drive, but Wayne had her so off her game she hadn’t even thought about the room. Wayne signed the bill and led her back out onto the patio, down the stairs and off along the pathway he had taken earlier. “There is our place” Wayne said, pointing to a small cottage with, lantern porchlight guiding them to a small cottage right out of a fairy tale. Wayne opened the door and stepped back to let her enter first. Jill went one step into the cottage and stopped in shock. The cottage was small, just a sitting area and a bedroom making up the main area, with a bathroom further in. Cute, rustic and warm, but not what had stopped her. A fire burned in the fireplace; candles lined the room. On the coffee table in front of the fireplace was a bottle of wine on ice, 2 flutes and a single rose. Soft jazz played in the background. “So, wine or a slow dance by the firelight, which would you like first?” Wayne asked over her shoulder, moving her into the room. “Definitely a kiss”, Jill replied, spinning and pulling him in tight. She put it into words. The kiss moved them across the room and the soft music had them swaying in the candlelight. “Heaven”, Jill thought. Kicking off her shoes, Jill held Wayne tight as they slowly danced well, more just rocked to the music. What seemed like a warm eternity later, Wayne broke away and poured her a flute of wine. Jill was surprised. Wayne knew she didn’t like champagne, but of course it wasn’t. Years ago, they had discovered a vineyard which produced a sweet bubbly peach wine. He had found a bottle she didn’t know, but that sip alone told her the amount of effort and planning he had put into the weekend. “I love you” she gasped, overwhelmed by all of the effort and planning he had to put into that. How had he pulled this off without her suspecting a thing? Music, candlelight, soft looks, wine and caresses soaked up the evening. Jill found herself yawning, suddenly exhausted from the events of the day. Embarrassed, she looked and began to apologize but Wayne stopped her with a finger to her lips. Reaching up, Wayne unzipped the back of her dress and let it fall around her feet. Suddenly, naked Jill didn’t know how to react but Wayne simply smiled and pulled her towards the bed. She hadn’t noticed earlier but laid out on the bed was a large bath towel. “Lay down on your stomach”, Wayne ordered as he reached for a candle burning on the nightstand. Jill stretched out, watching him curiously as he poured the melted wax into the palm of his hand. Jill gasped “What are you doing?” “Relax, I found this candle in a specialty store”, Wayne responded. “It melts into hot massage oil not wax”. Without another word, Wayne put his hand on her shoulder blades, pushing her back down on the bed. The warmth was immediate, almost too much. Wayne had always given great massages but adding the oil took it to another level. Wayne’s hands began to knead her neck and shoulders, strong fingers finding every knot and working them away. This wasn’t a turn on you by massage, this was a massage to take your stress away. Refreshing the oil in his hands, Wayne worked his way down her spine and sides, finding the tightness and taking it away. Taking his time, Wayne worked on her lower back and the outside of her hips. Jill expected him to change rhythm and focus when he got lower, but he didn’t. Grabbing each cheek in both hands, Wayne worked, rubbed and massaged the stress and soreness she wasn’t aware she had away. Pausing to re-oil his hands, Wayne surprised her by skipping down to her feet. His thumbs stretched the arches of her feet, loosening the muscles in her soles, or was it soul she mused as she felt the need to purr. Working up her calves, stretching her ankles, Wayne proved yet again he could have made a lot of money as a masseuse. It was when he got to her knees that his playful side came out again. Early in their relationship, Wayne had stated he intended to kiss and explore every inch of her body. She had been surprised to find he was serious and down right stunned when he discovered the backs of her knees. The first time his lips and beard traveled across the backs of her knees she almost fainted. God had a weird sense of humor putting such a sensitive area in such an odd place. Today, however, Wayne’s weight pressed down on her ankles and feet, stretching the backs of her knees taut. Hot breath replaced warm hands on the backs of her knees and, conversely, a chill ran through her body. “Yep, still sensitive.” Wayne chuckled. Hot breath disappeared to be replaced again by strong fingers kneaded and relaxing. Long smooth motions up and down her thighs gently siphoned the stress and soreness from her body. Wayne’s hands moved back up to her back, shoulders and neck. Warmth and relaxation spread through her body guided by her husband’s hands. As Jill drifted off to sleep she heard her husband whisper “Sometimes making love is about giving bliss, not just sex.”
