LOVE BEGINS

CHAPTER SEVEN

Jade hummed as she cooked the eggs. Scrambling was all she knew how to do, so she hoped Victor would like them. She wasn’t sure

when he had gotten back from his run last night, she had waited for him as long as she could. When she woke this morning, she had

found herself wrapped in his arms, lying against his broad muscled chest. She blushed when she thought about how good it had felt.

It was as though she just fit into his body.

She wanted to ask Victor about his sister’s reaction to her being a part fairy, but she decided it was best to wait until he brought the

subject up. She didn’t want to push him on the subject, not when it concerned his sister. Instead, she busied herself with preparing

their breakfast and continued to hum.

This is a sight I could get used to, Victor said from the kitchen door. He didn’t want to startle Jade, but he had taken just a few

minutes to watch her move around the kitchen working and humming to herself. She seemed so happy this morning and he took this

as a good sign. He would have to explain Abby’s reaction last night to her, but for now, he decided to just enjoy this wonderful

breakfast and her company.

Jade turned to the sound of his voice. She smiled at him and to Victor, it seemed like the whole room was filled with sunshine.

It’s such a beautiful morning. I thought maybe we could have our breakfast on the patio, said Jade.

I think that’s a wonderful idea, agreed Victor.

Not waiting for her to say more, Victor grabbed their breakfast and headed for the door.

After making sure Jade had taken her seat, Victor took his place at the table.

Everything smells so good, he said and smiled at Jade.

I’m afraid I’m not much of a cook and scrambling eggs is the only way I know to cook them, apologized Jade.

Scrambled eggs are just fine with me. Said Victor as he took a big bite.

Breakfast was pleasant and both Victor and Jade enjoyed the morning. After one last cup of coffee, Victor told Jade that he had some

pack business to attend to and that he would be gone most of the afternoon.

You may go anywhere on the property but don’t go off, park ground it’s not safe, he warned Jade.

Maybe you would like to call your parents and invite them for dinner one evening this week. I’m sure they must be anxious to hear

from you, he suggested.

That sounds like a wonderful idea! Exclaimed Jade. Is there an evening you have in mind, or will any evening do?

I should be free any evening this week, answered Victor. Well, any evening but tomorrow, so feel free to invite them any day but

then.

He walked around the table and dropped a light kiss on the top of Jades’ head.

She smiled and watched him as he walked away. Maybe life here with this man wouldn’t be so bad after all, she thought.

Victor sat behind his big oak desk and gave everyone a moment to get settled. When he spoke, his voice was full of anger and

determination.

I have agreed to an Alpha fight between Silas Marks and myself. I know this will not be a good or fair fight as he is not prone to do

either. But I must win because more than just the lives of a few refugees is at stake.

We have determined the winner will become the Alpha of both packs and the loser must leave and never return.

He heard the gasps around the room and raised his hand to quiet them before continuing on.

I know this is not the usual wager, but he would accept nothing less and I could not and would not refuse the challenge. I have called

you here today because you are my top people and I know I can depend on you if anything should happen.

Victor sat behind his big oak desk and gave everyone a moment to get settled. When he spoke, his voice was full of anger and

determination.

Jermaine shook his head and said in a loud, clear voice, it’s not if it’s when something happens. We all know he won’t play fair, and

his henchmen will be causing as much trouble as they can. We can expect him to find a way to cheat because he knows in a fair fight

he can’t beat you, Victor.

All the men shook their heads in agreement.

Right, said Victor, so we have to be prepared. James, you are our strategist, so I’m depending on you to come up with a game plan.

Steve you, as the head of security, will do what you do best and make sure all weapons are checked at the gate. Simon, I want you to

make sure that all of the women and children are hidden safely away and Mathew, I am putting you in charge of Jades’ safety. I don’t

have time to worry about her and keep my head in the fight. Make sure she isn’t within hearing or seeing distance of this fight. Call

on the Fae for help. Do I make myself clear?

You can count on me, Alpha, said all the men in the room.

Since everyone has their assignments, I will leave you to it. If anyone needs me for any reason, I will be on the training field getting

ready for tomorrow.

Without another word, Victor turned and left the room. He would have to tell Jade what was going on, but right now he felt the need

to hit something, and the training field was just the place for it.

Making his way through the maze of halls to the field, he had time to think about how he was going to tell Jade. He wasn’t afraid of

losing to Silas, but he was afraid of how Jade would react. He had taken her from the only life she had ever known and thrown her

into a world that, until just a few days ago, she thought only existed in fairy tales and nightmares.

Finding the practice field empty, Victor began with a series of running, jumping, and sparing repetitions. It felt good to work his

muscles like this. He hadn’t done so in a long time. Soon he began to feel the burning of muscles worked to their limit. Heading for

the showers, Victor played in his mind about how he was going to tell Jade about the upcoming fight. He had already left strict

instructions with Jermaine that, were he to lose Jade, was to be taken as far from the pack as Jermaine could get her.

He had left provisions for her. Jermaine knew about the secret account and how to access the money. He had also provided for

Jermaine and his family so that they could relocate and start a new life.

He might lose his pack, but he would never allow anyone else to possess Jade. She was his and his alone. He stepped into the shower

and let the hot water run over his tired muscles. A vision of Jade danced in front of him, and he felt his manhood begin to rise. She

was so beautiful yet had no idea of the kind of power she could possess over a man. He had promised to wait until she could adapt to

her new life before expecting any form of physical contact, but now, he began to wonder if he could hold out that long. He reached

down and took hold of his protruding member and began a slow rhythmic motion. He closed his eyes and saw Jade standing before

him, naked, and wet. She had her eyes half closed and ran her tongue around her red lips. She raised her arms above her head and

begged for him to take her. With one final groan, Victor spilled his seed into the shower drain, spent he leaned back against the

shower wall until his breathing became normal again.

After his shower, Victor began to search the house and found that Jade was gone. He looked in every room of

the house, calling her name. Just as panic began to set in, she stepped through the back door.

Relief flooded him. Without thinking, he grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her," Where have you been? He growled.

Frightened, Jade looked down and in a small voice said," You are hurting me. I didn’t go anywhere. I was just in the pool taking a

swim before dinner. I thought that would be okay. You did say I could go anywhere as long as I didn’t leave the pack grounds.

Seeing the look of fright in her eyes, Victor was immediately ashamed of his rough handling of her and drew her into the safety of

his arms. I’m so sorry Jade, I never meant to frighten you. I was only concerned because I called you and got no answer. I must talk

to you about something.

When she saw the look of worry on his face, Jade was immediately sorry, she had worried him. I’m sorry I caused you to worry

Victor, she said.

Thank you, Jade, but that’s not what we need to talk about. I have some paperwork to finish in the office, but can you meet me there

in thirty minutes?

Jade shook her head yes and watched as Victor disappeared into the hallway.

What could trouble him? She had never seen Victor look like this before. Plopping down on a chair, she looked out over the

garden.

Victor finished up the last of the paperwork and called Jermaine into his office.

You’re clear on what is to be done if Silas wins this fight, he asked Jermaine.

I know, but I really think this is all for not. Victor, you have never lost an Alpha fight.

I don’t plan on losing this one either, said Victor, but I want to know that Jade is safe and waiting for me when all this is over, win or

lose.

Yes, Alpha, I will make sure all is done exactly as you have instructed, said Jermaine. He bowed and left the room.

Deciding not to wait for Jade, Victor left his office and went looking for her.

He found her in the sitting room reading a book. He stood for a moment and watched her. She was sitting in the sun with her legs

pulled up next to her body. She was so beautiful; she took his breath away.

Looking up, she saw him and smiled. He knew he would do anything to see that smile every day for the rest of his life, he felt a

coldness take hold of his heart and he steeled himself for the conversation to come.

Walking across the room, he gently took the book from her hands and laid it on the side. Sitting down next to her, never letting go of

her hands, Victor began the story of the rivalry between Silas and himself.

So, you see Jade, I have to accept this challenge. I cannot leave those people to live under him. He is a tyrant, and they will perish if

this continues and no one steps up to help them, he finished.

Jade looked at him with tears in her eyes and when she finally found her voice it was filled with anger and sorrow.

I wish there was another way, Victor. I won’t pretend to wish otherwise, but I do understand why you feel that you must do this. I do

not doubt that you will win.

But do you think he will just leave and allow you to take over his pack? I cannot imagine that you would do so if he were to win.

You would never leave your pack to live under such a bad person. Please tell me, Victor, what do you have planned for them if

something happens to you.

Victor kissed her on the forehead and said," Still your mind, love, I have left instructions with my most trusted man, Jermaine. He

will make sure that everyone is taken care of. I told Silas he could have the pack land, but he will never rule the pack. Now it’s

getting late, and I’m famished. How about we go to the kitchen and see if we can find something for dinner?

She had forgotten about eating after her swim, she had been too concerned about what was going on with Victor.

Never letting go of her hands, Victor stood up and pulled her into his arms.

Jade tilted her head up to him and his lips found hers. It was a sweet and gentle kiss to start but as the heat of his passion for her

began to rise, his kiss deepened into a searching, demanding kiss. His tongue parted her lips and began a slow exploration of her

mouth. Jade could taste the strong flavor of Scotch on his breath.

She felt the heat from his body and her own body began to respond.

Never taking his lips from her mouth, Victor said, how about we skip dinner and go straight to dessert?

Before she knew what was happening, Victor had swept Jade up into his strong arms. He took the stairs two at a time and kicked

open the bedroom door.

Laying her gently on the bed, he began to undress her. His hands were slightly shaking.

Jade placed her hand on top of his and stopped him from going further.

Victor, I really want to, but I have never done this before and I don’t want to disappoint you.

Sitting beside her on the bed, Victor drew Jade into his arms. I’m so sorry, my love. I never thought you might be a virgin. We don’t

have to do this now, we can do it when you are ready. I don’t want to push you, Jade, or make you feel like you have to do something

you don’t want to do.

Jade smiled up into his face and snuggled closer to his chest. I want to Victor, but I don’t know how. I need you to teach me.

Victor moved her away from him and stood up. He began to undress. I want you to look at me, Jade. Don’t look away even though

you will want to. I want you to see me for who I am and that includes all of me.

Jade shook her head and watched as Victor continued to remove his clothes. When he stood in front of her with nothing covering his

body, he told her to do the same. Jade stood on shaking legs and began to undress. She never took her eyes from Victor’s as she

undid the buttons on her blouse. It fell to the floor, she reached behind her to undo her bra. Letting it slip to the floor, she undid the

button on her skirt next. As her clothes fell to the floor, she saw the look in Victor's eyes go from mild curiosity to appreciation.

When she stood completely naked in front of him, Victor drew in a sharp breath.

You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen, he said and took a step closer to her. Jade felt his hands pull her to him and felt

the heat of his body.

He kissed her gently and said, are you sure you want to do this, Jade, I won’t be able to stop myself once we start.

Unable to find her voice, Jade shook her head. Victor picked her up and laid her gently on the bed. He positioned himself beside her.

Trailing his fingers down her body, he could feel the small shivers that ran through her. Jade, it’s okay for you to touch me. Taking

her hand, he placed it on his chest. For a moment she remained still but soon she was moving her hand in a small and tentative way.

Drawing in a sharp breath, Victor lay back on the bed and allowed her to explore his body. At first, Jade was afraid to touch him. She

had never seen a man’s body before. She loved the way his skin worked over the muscles of his back and chest. She was taken aback

by the bronze color of his skin and wanted to ask him about it, but decided now was not the time.

Victor closed his eyes and allowed Jade the freedom to explore his body. Her hands were small and soft against his skin and

wherever she touched him little rivets of fire followed. He shivered when she came close to touching his hard member and noticed

she stopped. Why did she stop? Was she afraid?

Finally, when he could no longer take it, he flipped Jade onto her back and positioned himself above her.

Looking into her eyes, he said, Jade, this is going to hurt, but only for a moment, and then it will get better, I promise. I am going to

kiss you and I want you to kiss me back. Not soft, but hard and angry. Could you do that?

Without giving her time to respond, Victor began to move above her. He pushed himself into her opening but just enough that she

could become accustomed to the feel of him. As he began to move in and out, she picked up the rhythm and began to match him.

Suddenly, Victor put his lips on hers and said" Kiss me now Jade, hard and long. Don’t let up no matter what. Jade reached for his

head and tangled her fingers in his hair. His lips began to press harder on hers and when she was caught up in the rhythm of his

movements, Victor gave a strong and hard thrust. Pain shot through Jade, and she tried to escape Victor. For his part, Victor hung on

and kept moving. Slowly the pain began to subside, and Jade relaxed under Victor again. Feeling her body responding to his, Victor

slowed his movement and withdrew from her.

Looking into her eyes, he said, “I am sorry for the pain, Jade, but it was a one-time thing, and you won’t experience it again. He

kissed her gently this time and began to explore her body with his mouth. First, he ran his tongue around the n****e of her right

breast, then showing the same attention to her left one, he began to move lower on her body. Fire trailed along the path left by his

kisses. Jade was both amazed and afraid. When he reached the vee between her legs, Victor kissed his way back up to her mouth.

With one great thrust, he was once again inside her and moving in a slow rhythmic motion. There was no pain this time, only a funny

feeling in the pit of her stomach. Before she could stop herself, Jade was hanging on to Victor and crying out his name. Only when

he was sure Jade had reached the pinnacle of her passion did Victor allow his own passion to flow? Giving one last shutter, he

breathed into her hair. I love you, Jade. I always remember that.

Jade woke the next morning to the sound of Victor’s soft snoring. A small smile spread across her face, and she felt a flush of

the excitement throughout her whole body. She had dreamed many times of her first time

and the man she would give herself to, but never could she have imagined he would be someone as wonderful as Victor.

She reached out a shaking hand to brush back the dark curl from his forehead. He stirred when she touched him. Jade quickly drew

back her hand and smiled. She wanted to do something special for him today. Moving from the bed, she walked into the bathroom

and turned on the shower. Allowing the water to warm, she began to gather all of her shower supplies and when she was sure the

water was warm enough, she dropped her gown on the floor and stepped into the shower.

Victor waited for Jade to step into the shower before he pushed the door open just enough for him to watch her. By God’s, she was a

sight to behold! He hoped she hadn’t been disappointed after last night. He hadn’t expected her to be so open and free with her need

for him, but it was refreshing to finally have a woman in his arms that wasn’t afraid of his status as Alpha. Soon his need for her

overtook him and Victor quietly removed his pajama bottoms and slipped into the shower behind her. Jade gave a small start when

she felt Victor there. His hands slowly slid around her waist, he took the luffa from her and began to wash her back.

Something in the way he moved around her body set her on fire. His hands moved with the skill of a surgeon, sending chills singing

through every part of her soul. Turning to face him, Jade felt his warm and hard manhood pressing against her stomach. Reaching up

to wrap her arms around his neck, he lifted her with ease and brought her down upon him. A small moan escaped her lips as his

mouth found hers and he began to move with a gentle swaying motion. Jade surrendered herself to the warmth of the water and

the heat of his kisses. Before she could regain herself, she was swept up in the heat of her passion and began to match his

movements.

No longer caring about anything but the two of them, at that moment she allowed Victor to step from the shower still holding her. He

walked toward the bed and laid her down.

With their bodies still wet, he began to slowly awaken all the senses that had lain dormant within her for so very long.

Later, as they were having a mid-morning snack, Victor asked Jade if she would like to spend the day inspecting the pack territory

with him.

I would love to. said Jade. Afterward, we could stop by the lake for a picnic and a swim. Just give me time to change and grab a

swim suite is there anything you would like for me to bring you?

No, I think I’ll be fine with what I have on and as for the swim I prefer to swim in the o’naturale, said Victor with a smile. Jade

thought about the events of earlier and her cheeks blushed. Victor saw the slight pink but thought better of teasing her. She was so

young, and all of this was so new to her, he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. She had given herself to him and now he wanted

to know more about her. He hadn’t meant for things to move so quickly. He would have to be more careful in the future. He wanted

her to be sure that he was the one she wanted. Once he had placed his mark upon her, no other wolf would ever touch her, and she

deserved to be loved by someone she chose, not someone she was forced to accept.

Are we ready? Asked Victor as he opened the car door for Jade.

I can’t think of anything more we could possibly need, laughed Jade.

Good then let’s get to it, shall we? We have a lot of ground to cover and I’m sure many of the pack will want to get a look at the new

Luna.

Oh! Exclaimed Jade, I hadn’t thought about that. Do you suppose I should have dressed up more?

You look fine, said Victor as he kissed her hand. It doesn’t matter if you are in a couture gown or a gunny sack, you are still the most

beautiful woman at the ball.

Jade’s cheeks flushed a light pink and Victor smiled. Yes, he decided he liked making her blush. It was refreshing to see someone

who didn’t expect to find a compliment in every conversation?

Now hang on because we are going to make up for some lost time.

Before she could say anything else, the car sped down the long drive and through the gate onto the highway.

For the first time in her life, Jade felt the wind blowing in her hair and got an uncontrollable urge to transform into her wolf and just

run.

Victor, can we stop the car for a moment? She asked.

Victor pulled the car onto a side road and looked at her with concern in his eyes. Is there something wrong?

Giving him her sweetest smile, she reassured him that everything was fine. I just wanted to know if we could let our wolves out to

play for a while.

I’ve never had the chance to just let Saphira run. I don’t even know what she can do, but I’d like to give her a chance to show me at

least a little of what she’s made of.

Victor smiled;" I think that’s a wonderful idea. I know Jake has been wanting to run for some time and it would be a good bonding

experience for him and Saphira.

Victor put the car in park and shut off the engine. He walked around the car and opened the door for Jade and said" Follow me, I’ll

show you how to hide your clothes so that you can find them when we return.

Taking her hand, he led Jade into the timber. Looking around, he found the perfect place for them to transform and instructed her to

undress. Blushing, Jade motioned for him to turn around and Victor did as she asked. He heard her moving around and smiled to

himself. He was proud of her and the way she was attempting to learn their ways. She was going to make a fine Luna and an even

better mate.

Feeling her soft fur on his hand, Victor looked down into the eyes of the most beautiful white wolf he had ever seen. Go ahead and

stretch your legs while I change, but just don’t go too far. I’ll be with you in just a moment.
