Jax's POV
I set Bailey down inside the spare room on the same floor of my room. It's usually reserved for when other alpha's are visiting. I would prefer her in my room with me, but I know she isn't ready for that and I want to keep her close, So this works out. I show her the bathroom and her closet, where I've already had her bag placed. I had one of the female omegas' hang her clothes up and put her under garments in the drawers. I didn't think she'd want me to handle those. She smiled when I told her that.
"So, my room is just across the hall and my office is second door on the left if you need anything"
"Thank you"
"Oh, I also had a laptop put over here on the table, so you can keep in contact with your brother."
"Thank you so much" she said with tears in her eyes. I didn't mean to make her cry. I just wanted her to know that she doesn't have to ask to use anything. I wanted her to not worry about her brother and be free to talk to him when she wants.
I walk up to hug her, but she stiffens as I approach,so I stop. I don't want to scare her.
"Ok, well get some rest. I'll come check on you in a bit."
"Jax?"
"Yeah?"
"I really appreciate you helping me. Thank you. And thank you for the laptop. It means a lot to me." She said with a smile. She has such a beautiful smile.
"You're welcome. Rest well." I tell her as i walk out of her room, closing the door behind me.
My heart is pounding. I have a stupid smile on my face right now,but I don't even care. My mate is here. And she's perfect. Now, on to business. Get ready for a possible fight and kill the son of a b***h who is after her.

As I walk into my office, Kip and Nick are already sitting there waiting for me.
"So what's up Jax?" Nick asks.
" I need us to make sure we are ready for a possible attack" I say as I sit down in my chair.
"Attack?" Both Kip and Nick say.
"Who's attacking us?" Kip asked.
"I said possible attack, and it would be Bailey's previous Alpha." I tell them.
"What? Why?" Nick asked stunned.
"I don't have the whole story yet, but from what I do have, Bailey did something to upset him and he's looking for punishment."
"What did she do?" asked Nick.
"I don't know, but whatever it was, it's got her scared to be caught by him. She even told me that once she's better, she's going to be leaving." I still have to figure out a way to change her mind about that.
"What do you mean she's leaving?" Kip asked me. "She's our Luna. she can't leave."
"That's the other thing. Dr. Gratiot called her Luna this morning, and she seemed scared and confused." I reply.
"This is getting weird. She does know she's your mate right?" Kip asked.
"I'm not sure what she knows right now. I just know that right now She's scared and I need her to be safe. So, with that being said, Nick, I want two gammas assigned to watch her at all times. They are to never let her out of their sight. I want your best." I tell him sternly. They know when I get like this, I mean business.
"Consider it done" Nick replied.
"Kip, we need to up the training schedule. I need everyone in top shape, including us."
We've been pretty lax with our training these past few months. We still train to stay in shape, but not like some of the gammas. That needs to change. I can't risk anyone being sloppy if this alpha comes to take Bailey. I'll fight to the death to protect her.
"You got it" Kip replied " I'll have the new schedule to you by tonight."
"Thank you guys. That's all I have right now." I always end every meeting with the opportunity for anyone to ask any questions, today was no different. I like my pack to be able to have a say in what happens here. After all, if they are willing to put their lives on the line for this pack, they should at least be heard.
When neither of them had anything else to add, they both got up and left my office. I started getting to work on the stack of paperwork on my desk. Some pack business, and some business business.

Ben's POV
I left Red River a few hours ago. Before I left, I told Mrs.Betty and a few others I consider friends about the threat from Summit Moon. I couldn't leave and not at least warn them. I might not make it back in time to protect them before the fight. They needed a chance to run if they wanted.
Bailey is pretty good at hiding her scent. I'm being very careful as I'm looking for her. I know I'm being followed. Grayson assigned one of his trackers to follow me as I look for her. He's right not to trust me, there's no way in hell I'm ever going to give him Bailey's location.
It's getting late, so I decided stop for the night and got myself a room.
After I took a shower and got some food in my belly, I decided I would log into the classified to see if Bailey had responded yet. I was so relieved when I saw her message.
I let out the breath I was holding. She's ok. She was attacked by rouges and ended up at another pack where's she's recovering. Thank goodness, she's safe. And I'm extremely grateful that this pack took her in to care for her while she heals. They could of kicked her out or worse. I'm thankful neither of those happened.
I lay my head down on the pillow able to relax for the first time in a few days. Tomorrow, I plan on taking this tracker following me on a wild goose chase. I smile thinking about how much fun this is going to be as I drift off to sleep.
