Not my mate

ESTELLE WINTERS "You've finally lost your mind." I snarled at him, teeth bared. He stepped forward, slowly rolling his sleeves. "I'll just assume you are so excited to go with me." He took my hands and led me into the already waiting car. "There you are." Low voice muttered into my ears as I ungracefully climbed into the car. My cheeks burned, fingers fisting around the hem of my dress, almost crumpling the neatly ironed fabric. The door closed with a soft thud. I took a deep breath, taking note of the luxurious inside of the car. A ride fit for an Alpha of Adriano's caliber. Before I could dwell on my thoughts any further, there was a soft click as the other door opened. Adriano climbed in with elegant grace, a complete opposite of me. Immediately, the scent of his cologne filled the inside of the car, suddenly making the originally spacious interior to feel cramped. He slowly knocked on the partition to signal to the driver that we were both in. A few minutes of the ride was spent in silence before my curiosity got the best of me. "Jokes aside... Where are we going?" Adriano looked up. "A date." I folded my arms. "Date? And you think I would cooperate with your lousy ass?". He raised his brows. "You won't? Even for the sake of Nyx." I took a deep breath and looked away. Calm down Estelle. Don't get angry. You won't get anything out of it... "Is that all you've got? Threatening me with a child another man gave me? Now I had his full attention. "Estelle..." "Adriano Lancaster. You are a f*****g coward!" "Don't you dare..." His voice came out as a low warning growl, the air suddenly shifting but I fearlessly pressed on as my eyes gazed into his, catching a red flicker in them. "Or?... what are you going to do?" My lips quirked up into a smirk, pulse throbbing in excitement. He leaned closer, his muscular frame towering over me. Hot breath washed over my face. "Watch your tone Estelle, we are not friends and I won't take your insults lightly." My heart beat quickened as I took deep breath, pushing forward. "You can't do shit." The words left my mouth with a confidence I didn't even know that I had. " I warned you. Estelle." The next thing I knew, his lips crashed against mine. The aroma of mint flooded my senses while his hand cupped my jaw. Both of my hands flew to his chest, pushing hard. "Let...go..." His tongue slid past my parted lips, stealing the rest of my words. Heat flared in my stomach at the feel of his tongue. My fingers still placed on his chest curled around the fabric of his shirt, the world around me blurring as I melted into him. I hated it. I hated how good he made me feel, how easily my body betrayed me, making me lean deeper into his embrace as his tongue wrecked havoc in my mouth. Shame and anger burned deep in my chest even as my thighs parted wider, hips twisting. His fingers trailed down from my aching jaw, lightly brushing against the skin of my exposed thighs and without warning his fingers slipped between my thighs. Deliberately, he rubbed over the soaked fabric of my panties, a tinge shot through my spine as I jolted, gasping hard. "Adriano —" This time, I shoved him so hard the muscles on my arms popped. I wiped my lips, trying to clear away the memory of his invading kiss. Adriano pulled away, chest heaving. The colour of his pupils were now a shade darker, looking like a swirling wormhole that threatened to suck in everything including me. "Stay away from me" I gasped, inching backwards. He snorted, smoothing the crease on his shirt. "Don't get too mouthy with me Estelle." And that was his final warning. Unwilling and ready to go another round with him, I opened my mouth but his piercing gaze shut me up. I swallowed and looked away, sinking deeper into the comfy seat and trying to hide from his preying eyes. The rest of the car ride was spent in silence... Well, except for the soft and slow music playing from the car speaker. Soon, the car rolled into a large manor that stretched hectares and hectares, finally pulling to a halt in front of a mansion. My hands stretched out, reaching for the door but Adriano beat me to it. "Let me." He didn't give me room to argue. He opened the other side and walked to my side of the door, then pulled it open with a slight tilt of his head. "My lady." My palm clutched onto his as I stepped out, eyes surveying the environment in front of me. Exotic blooms of flower hedges spanned all around, luxurious cars of different colours lined the driveway. And... Oh my God... Is that made from pure gold? My gaze focused on the lion fountain that spewed out water from it's mouth. It's golden colour glittered brightly in the sunlight, almost blinding me. "Don't look around, Just move forward." Adriano ordered in a low tone, pulling me slowly as we walked towards the entrance. The instant we walked in, it felt like I had fallen into another world. If outside was a trove of wealth, then inside screamed of elegance. Then men were dressed in black designers suit while the women who clung to their arms were wearing beautiful dinner gowns I'd various colours. "Alpha Adriano!" Someone sighted us immediately. Adriano stepped forward , broad shoulders blocking me. Him and the man engaged in what I would call a " brotherly hug". "Luca! Good to see you again." Adriano's voice boomed loudly, drawing attention of the others to us. "Good too. And who is the beautiful chick behind you. Your fiancée?" Luca's head stretched out as the gaze from his blue pupils landed on me. I saw Adriano's back tense up. A smirk almost made it's way to my lips as I waited for him to introduce me. He stretched out his hands and pulled me towards him and for everyone to see clearly. Pointing at the black necklace on my neck. "Fiancée?, come on don't make me laugh." Luca chuckled as another man joined us, curiosity on his face. "You've never brought any chick to our gatherings and you've always talked about your fiancée but we have never seen her." He paused, tilting his head towards the man that had just walked towards us. "Aren't we all curious to see Adriano's woman?" The man nodded, the fat on his cheek wobbling in the process. "Of course." Adriano's fingers tightened around me, his nails almost dug into the flesh on my wrists. "You are wrong Luca, she is not my Fiancée" "Your mate then?" Luca asked, blue pupils gleaming with interest. "Mate?" A soft scoff escaped from Adriano's lips. "You know very well that I don't believe in that shit."
