Chapter 3

Scarlet landed her ship about five miles from the talons base. Before they step out of the ship she put her helmet on she was dressed to kill and armed to the teeth she looked like death its self. She briefed Mia of her plans and instructed her to stay close mia nodded they hiked up a cliff side and scarlet took out her binoculars and scanned their surroundings. She spotted about twenty guards, several spot lights and turrets

However she saw a hole in the east side wall that was unseen. She grinned and flicked her tail in excitement, she turned to Mia and told her that they will wait till night fall when most of them will be asleep and sneak into their base . From there they waited till dark and they made them way to the hole silently as ghosts. When they entered the base scarlet turned her cloaking device on and took out her knife as she sneaks up behind a guard that is just twenty feet in front of them she quickly slit his throat and dragged him behind some crates.

Here put these on she whispered to Mia they are too drunk to think twice about if you are a guard if you wear his uniform. Mia did as scarlet instructed, also have you gun ready but for now use your knife as much as you can so we to draw attention to ourselves. Mia nodded in acknowledgment . They work silently and quickly throughout the base stringing only those who were in their way.

They reached the building that they were holding the girl when scarlet grabbed mia and held her close against the wall she was able to cloak them both when another squadron of mercenaries walked by. Scarlet could feel how close they were and noticed how good Mia smelled like lilacs and sandalwood she held her for a bit longer enjoying the warm feeling that was between them. After the mercenaries walked out of site they continued towards their target. Up head was motion turrets Mia with an emp mod on her rifle shot both of them and the turn off instantly.

They reached the door scarlet realized it was a computerized lock so she instructed Mia to be her look out as she pulls a black pouch from her pocket inside of the pouch she pulls out a small computer and connection cord. She turns on the computer and inserts the cord to the computer and into the slot behind the machine. She types in a few commands and hacks the locks components. The key pad turns green and she puts the computer back into its pouch and back into her pocket inside and her and Mia slips silently inside.

Scarlet taps her helmet to switch to thermal imaging quickly she spots guards through out the building but four next to a door and inside that door is a little girl . Scarlet whispers to Mia she is upstairs to thermal imaging quickly left “ stay low and stay quiet she instructs”. You brake the right and I’ll take the left side Mia nodded and they quickly eliminates all the guards on the ground floor and the work their way up stairs. Suddenly Mia was grabbed by a guard scarlet scowls at her self because she knew she should have made sure Mia could cloak herself .

With a quick swipe of her sword the guard fell are you alright Mia scarlet asked in concern. I’m fine scarlet he just took me by surprise. Keep your eyes peeled scarlet respond I’m glad you are safe. They look at each other for a moment and the they worked their way to the girls room. Scarlet picked the lock and they entered quietly.

On the bed was a little girl about five years old she looked like she cried her self to tears scarlet carefully scooped her up and handed her to Mia . Keep her safe scarlet whispers and I will protect you both as we head back to our ship. They worked their way back to the hole quickly , as scarlet goes a head killing anyone who go too close silent and deadly like death it’s self Mia’s mouth hung open as she watches scarlet. They slip through the hole and return to the ship with haste.

Once inside Mia puts the sleeping child in her bed and closes the door. Scarlet goes to her comms room and calls for in further instructions. Crack carck and old lady appears on her hologram screen so you successfully rescued the child yes she is in my ship safe. Good take her home back to earth and then I will send you your payment, sound good signing out. Scarlet takes her helmet and armor off and puts them back into her armory as she is wiping down her blades Mia walks in how’s the kid?

She is sleeping Mia replies, good we are to take her home and after that we will get paid and you can go home or if you want you can join me as my partner. You did a good job a natural and we worked good as a team what do you say? Mia still high on adrenaline she kisses scarlet as they pull away scarlet smirks a simple yes would have worked you know Mia blushes. Yes she whispers, well then welcome abroad scarlet whispers back.

They quickly clean their gear, and scarlet takes them back to space and she puts in their destination. When they reached hyper speed she let the computer take over, and she heads to her room touching her lips smiling she kissed me . She jumps into her shower feeling today’s battles blood wash off of her she was impressed the human was able to hold her own. And how she enjoyed holding mia and that kiss sent sparks through her body that she didn’t know what to do about.
