Maxwell was silent. Mostly speechless when I told him about the possibility of me leaving tomorrow for an old case. The car ride home was covered in silence and for a second, I was worried about him being mad at me. I was inexperienced with situations where I have someone who is upset with me, especially when that someone is somebody I am falling for. Having Maxwell take the silent treatment out on me was something I’ve never experienced before with a lover. Usually, they are loud and have a lot to say and share their opinions quite vividly.
