They're Our Mates?!?

I left the cottage and decided to go check on the pool area, the laundry room, the workout stations, and make sure the overnight crew remembered to empty all the outside trash cans. These areas were pretty quiet this time of morning, and after I made sure everything was in order I headed into the lobby of the hotel. I almost wanted to say screw this and turned back around to leave. The only thing that stopped me was thinking about mom and Chay having to pick up the extra workload if I did leave. So, good little Star that I am, proceeded forward to the lobby. It was a mess. The lady at the counter looked stressed to the max so I helped her first. I hopped on the other computer and did the check ins and check outs with her, and the housekeeping schedule. Once that was finished, I made my way into the lobby itself to tidy everything up. There, now that’s all cleaned and looking immaculate, I shall make my way into the breakfast diner where the guests were gathering. I stopped in the entryway to observe the chaos that was going on before my eyes. I decided that we needed to open up the tables at the bar and grill next door to accommodate the guests who were standing to eat their breakfast. They didn’t look very comfortable, so I made my way to the breakfast bar and rang a bell we have on the counter. I asked for everyone’s attention please, and silence masked the chaos. I calmly and very politely offered those who would like a table to please enter the bar and grill, and their food would be delivered to them by our staff. They were more than cooperative to make their way to the next room over. We handed everyone the breakfast menu, took their orders, and served them as well as everyone who stayed in the breakfast diner. The cook thanked me for my help. “It’s never a problem to help the staff here at our prestigious hotel ma’am, and you do an excellent job here. We highly appreciate your cooking skills,” I said to her. She was very grateful for my kind words and continued on with her work. She really does make delicious foods. That’s no lie. I made my way back into the bar and grill to make sure things were running smoothly there also. The guests looked very satisfied with the new arrangements and the food. Smiles on everyone’s faces is what makes my profession that much more enjoyable. Meanwhile, Chay and Ramona were handling the housekeeping crew, the outside tiki bar crew, and the laundry crew. I always gave them what I called the “easy” duties. Ramona was in her late 60’s now, and Chay was still kind of new to the whole hotel atmosphere, so I didn’t want either one of them to be overwhelmed. When I absolutely needed the help, they’d always come to my rescue anyway, so it was really no big deal to me. Finally, about three hours later the guests quickly made their way out of the breakfast diner and the bar and grill areas to go about their daily adventures. Some crowds were all friends, some family, some couples and couples with children. It was a very charming, friendly atmosphere we exude here. I loved every bit of it. When everyone was gone it was cleanup time. I washed the windows, all the glass, washed all the tables, brought all the dishes and silverware to the kitchen, then proceeded to vacuum the floors. I had gotten all of the bar and grill finished and was headed out back of the breakfast diner to retrieve the broom and mop when suddenly, yes you guessed it, the goosebumps again. Oh no, I thought to myself. This time I’m alone and nowhere to run. I could hide outback I guess. We’ll see how intense this situation gets first. I don’t want to seem like a coward to my mate and embarrass myself. So, I decided I would just keep on doing my duties and see what happens. As I was sweeping, I had my back to the entryway. At first, I felt like I was freezing to death and then instantly hot like someone had thrown a match on me. I turned around only to see those gorgeous, mesmerizing golden eyes staring back at me. I couldn’t move like I was frozen to the spot I was standing in. I thought to myself, yep I am totally in trouble now. So much for escaping when I couldn’t move. My body had failed me. I think I was actually mad at myself for the first time. Like, how could I betray myself this way. He stayed in the entryway, gave a little cough as if to pull me out of my trance, and then asked, “ma’am, are you still open or are we too late for breakfast?” I looked up at the clock and responded with, “sir, for you, I will stay open as long as you need me to.” I am not sure if it was the way I said it or the words I used but I felt my face flush and quickly turned away from him, and ran into the kitchen. Oh my moon goddess, how embarrassing. I smacked my forehead. I told the cook there were more guests that arrived late. She said no problem, she’d gladly take care of it. As she left the kitchen I heard her gasp, “Oh my good gracious lord, I didn’t know it was you. Please forgive me? I will retrieve your breakfast immediately!” As she ran back into the kitchen I asked what that was all about. She said, “Miss StarLynn, that is the Lycan Prince and his guards.” Then she quickly gathered all the food she could possibly carry and served the royals. I stood there dumbfounded and humiliated with myself. Holy s**t that means… I could no longer think straight. Please moon goddess, are you seriously for real right now? Oh my, I cannot believe this is happening right now. I waited in the kitchen the whole time they had their breakfast. It was a good hour before they all finally left to go off and do whatever it is that royals do with their time. I made the cook check to make sure they were clear out of sight before I went to help her clean up the breakfast diner for the final time. After that was done, the only thing I could think of was finding Chay and Ramona stat! And hopefully, in the meantime looking for them, I won’t run into him again. I don’t know if I can handle another encounter with him this afternoon, or at all again today. I tried to nonchalantly run around the entire hotel until I finally ran into Ramona and Chay. They were in the employee break lounge having a late lunch and chatting about all the work they have done together, both thanking the other for their help. I was bent over with my hands on my knees, out of breath, from looking for them. They were relaxing the whole damn time while I am going out of my damn mind as to who my mystery mate is! Well, not so much of a mystery anymore now is it? They both noticed I was hunched over, breathing heavily, and ran to me. Ramona helped me to a chair while Chay grabbed an ice cold glass of water. I downed the whole glass in one go. Chay refilled the glass and came back to me. In the meantime, Ramona was rubbing my back and trying to calm me down before either one of them started asking me questions. Finally, I was able to catch my breath but I still couldn’t speak. I was in shock. Instead, tears started to well up in my eyes and roll down my red cheeks. Chay was the first to notice because she was standing right in front of me. She was like, “whoa girl, ok calm down love, and you need to tell us what the hell just happened.” I just shook my head side to side. I still couldn’t quite speak yet. I motioned for another glass of water and slowly sipped it this time. Then I blurted out, “The Lycan Prince is my fated mate!” Gasps came from both of their mouths. Ramona spoke, “Honey, are you sure? How do you know for sure? And, wait a second, when did you meet the Lycan Prince? Nobody has really seen him yet because his guards cover him up to shield him from all the unmated she wolves.” I looked right into her eyes, and insanely started laughing. They both looked at me as if I had just lost my mind. Maybe I have and the shock is wearing off I don’t know. But at last, I spoke. “Mom, I have a story to tell ya. It’s actually a quick one because it literally just happened last night at the clubs.” She looked at me dumbfounded. I proceeded to tell her about the goosebumps, the shivers, then the hot flashes, and finally the locked eyes at the Palace Nightclub. This woman, if she wasn’t my mom all these years, I probably would have knocked her out of her damn chair. She started laughing at me so uncontrollably she almost peed her pants and had to run to the restroom. I was actually furious with her. This isn’t funny. I had no idea who he was until the cook told me. It was embarrassing how I only addressed him as sir, although he didn’t get offended or anything, just kinda smirked at me. Then it hit me! Oh my moon goddess! He already knows I’m his fated mate, that’s why he’s stalking me! The next thing I knew I was waking up in a hospital room. I could hear the dinging of the monitors on one side of me, the beeping from another machine on the other side of me, and the tightness of the blood pressure cuff squeezing my arm. I was trying to focus my vision but these damn overhead lights were blinding me. Mom and Chay were pacing the floors when I could finally spot them through the bright lights in my eyes. I yelled out,
