Chapter Three The Crazy Eight

Flashback

"Uncle Arlo, look, we beat all the other kids in training today,"

" That's great, B.B. you guys are crazy you know, but in the best way, " Uncle Arlo said with a huge proud grin on his face.

" You know that's a great name for them dear, I think it suits them perfectly The Crazy Eight" It will give them a name to be feared and the anminoty they deserve to still try to have normal lives" Nehma said while playing with B.B. hair.

Present Day

Spade and Joey laugh as they cook breakfast and set the table. Tallie and Tuck are arguing in the corner over security camera's and a new system for the house after their mother's threat. Asa and Ala have successfully changed all the locks in the house and are working on the windows. Ben and B.B. have contacted the courts to make sure there is paperwork filed and logged in the system's referring to the custodial agreement for the rest of the siblings it's only a year before there all legal but they want to be sure. "Okay, so that's enough for this morning ya'll we can finish after school?" Ben yelled from the front office as he grabbed his book bag and keys from the front door. "Coming," we all yelled in unison. As we all trampled out of the house and into the suv, I had an uneasy feeling. My wolf has been so anxious since yesterday but she couldn't tell me why. Finally, I had enough and decided to just shut her out. After a silent fight with her, she gave in and returned to the back of my mind. I'm not like most wolves. I don't have a lot of conversations with my wolf. We really connect with emotion and sounds. I'm not saying we can't speak to each other. We can we even have the same name. Well, her name is Blue, and that's my middle name, so technically, the same name.

" Fighting with Blue again? I swear for someone who doesn't speak to their wolf regularly, you two sure fight a lot, " Spade said with a knowing grin on his face.

" Yeah, like you have room to talk. Spade, you and your wolf don't even like each other," Asa said while rolling his eyes and resting his head on the car window.

" Shut up you two I'm already dreading school today, and all the phoney bolognies please don't give me a migrain too" Tallie said while smacking them in the back of the head from the third row.

As we pull up to the school and all unload, we make our way to the front quad where most of the students are waiting to go to their respected classes. I can see a group of Alpha and Lunas all gathered together and whispering, not minding what there talking about I just keep walking with my head held high laughing at my brothers arguing about who cheated on COD last night. When I was suddenly shocked by a water balloon full of freezing water, all down the front of my white boyfriend tee. The group of Alphas and Lunas were giggling and pointing, like they've never seen a girl with t**s before. " Yeah laugh it up, but when you take over your respected packs and you call on The Crazy Eight for help, who will have the laugh then" my brother Ben screamed as he took off his leather jacket to give to me while my shirt dried.

"Thanks Bro they act like they've never seen a wet shirt before. You would think they could come up with something better than that. So much for an uneventful day, " I said as I walked into the front door of school. I went straight to my locker, not even looking up at my surroundings, I'm so over this school and it's student's. I grabbed what I needed for the next few periods and went straight to class, not even stopping for my siblings. Not that the prank hurt my feelings, just not going to lose my nut over a few bad eggs. I have enough to worry about with my family and the Council, then with training resuming tonight, it's gonna be rough.

I sat down in my usual seat by the window, lost in thought, watching the treeline to the forrest wishing I was there instead of here, when I felt a nudge on my shoulder. " Look, if you're gonna make a comment about my boobs, save it, your prank was stupid," thinking it was Crystal or one of her clicks. "hmm hmm sorry but I'm not one to comment on women's boobs so early in the friendship," Maxwell said with a confused but intrigued look on his face. " Sorry, I was pranked this morning with a water balloon, I thought you were Crystal or one of her friend's"

"So what's up you need help finding those candidates for your future Luna" I don't know why I said it in such a braty way or why I felt so jealous or even why I wished it was me at the top of his list. Goddess, what's wrong with me!

" Uhhh no, that is what I'd like to talk to you about, though," he started, but just as he went to finish Crystal and the rest of her gang came in, and the bell rang I turned to him. " Look, if you want to talk, sit with us at lunch and whatever you need, we'll try to help." I smiled at him and turned to face the front. Class went by rather quickly with only a few outbursts from the rando followers of Crystal and a few from the queen bee herself. I could tell since Ben rejected her. Her voice was almost acid to the eight of us ears. I wonder what that's about, I'll ask the rest at lunch before we talk to Maxwell about his issues.

The second period dragged on forever, I was just dozing off when I was jogged awake by screaming in the halls. All eight of us jumped up and ran to where the screams came. We found a lone rogue standing over one of Alpha's future beta and a girl trying to shove herself in a locker to hide. We didn't even think we neutralized the threat and spread out throughout the school to make sure the coast was clear. When we returned we questioned the girl, her name was Isa and she was just mated to beta Josh that morning they were sneaking off to get to know each other better, when they turned the corner of the hallway the rogue attacked the beta and ripped his throat out. That's when we showed up and took out the rogue.

"Damn, I knew we should have left him alive. We would have more information. Why would one rogue enter the Academy? What would be the purpose of that?" Ala said more to herself than the rest of us.

After all the interviews with Academy security and all the events of the morning, the rest of the school was canceled. We decided to head to the local diner for lunch. Just as we're about to load up in the car, I saw Maxwell. I don't know what came over me. I walked over to his car, and he turned around before I even made it to him with a smile on his beautiful face. Wait what, what am I even thinking? I didn't even realize I invited him to join us at the diner until we were sitting together ordering food and making small talk.

Every so often, I would catch him staring at me like he had something he needed to say but couldn't. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part, I have never even had a crush on a boy. Why am I digging this one now?

" Well, guys, I kinda needed to ask for some help. You see, I'm not really keen on the whole arranged marriage idea. While I appreciate you helping with the Crystal situation because Goddess knows she is not Luna or wife material, "

The whole table laughed at the last comment, while Joey cleared her throat to respond. " "Ummm I'm not sure how you expect us to help unless you're asking Ben or B.B. for one of our hands in marriage, " she says while batting her eyelashes at him. I don't know what came over me. I growled one of the most guttural growl's I've ever heard. All my siblings dropped the forks and stared at me like I had grown horns. " I'm so sorry I had something in my throat. How exactly do you want us to help?" I said while giving my sister a look that said do it again and your done for. Joey noticed, and so did Maxwell, but I didn't care in that moment. I felt so possessive, and I wanted everyone to know it. I watched as he shifted in his seat and looked directly into my eyes. "Well, you see, I noticed the The Council seem to have a respect or a fear of you, I'm not really sure which. But I was hoping you could speak to them and get them to lift this timeline for me to find a Luna. I don't believe my love life should be left up to others. It should be up to me and my potential mate's decision!" he finished while never breaking eye contact with me, not even to blink. We remained looking at each other for what could have been minutes before Asa had cleared his throat. "Hmm hmm well if anyone could sway the Council to give them what they want, it'd be Ben and B.B. so it's up to them" going back to his pie with a smile. " I agree this is up to The Bigs. Sorry bud, we don't have the pull that Ben and Billie do," Joey said while giving a quick smile.

"Grrrrrrr, did you just call me Billie, Joey? Do you really wanna start?" We still have training tonight. That's the road you choose to go down. You got it, kiddo," I said to her while giving a smart-ass thumbs up. Ben just laughs as the rest of the siblings say uh oh in unison.""

" Look, I can't make any promises, but B.B. and I will talk to them and see if we can sway them. We don't believe in a lot of their rules and proposals. It's all politics, and we're more muscle and brute force. Plus, it's not fair for them to mess with matters of the heart, " Ben says as he shakes his head. "Aww, that was so well said big brother, " Tallie said while she put her napkin up to each one, her eyes pretending to be touched.

The rest of us just laughed and shook our heads. We all paid and left the diner. We needed to get home to train and finish with the security of the house. As we were leaving the diner, Maxwell grabbed my elbow from behind. I turned and let my siblings go ahead. " Yeah, what up?" looking at him with confused but intrigued expression. Why am I like this with him, those eyes their mesmerizing. Okay, girl, get yourself together. Your being nuts, the Crazy Eight aren't allowed to be mated. it's the rule. "Ummm, well, I was wondering if I could get your phone number, I don't know anyone here, and I would love to have someone to speak to. If it's too much trouble, I'm sorry. " Come on, man, get it together since when I do have trouble speaking to a woman, why is she so different?

"Sure, here's my phone. Just put your number in and call or text yourself that way. You have mine. " Call me anytime you need. " I grabbed my phone back with a smile and turned and walked off. I wasn't even fully in the car yet when I got a message.

Maxwell- Thanks for the invite to the diner and agreeing to help me with The Council. But mostly thanks for your number. Hope training goes well. See you tomorrow.

B.B.- Your welcome. Remember, anytime you need to talk, I'm here

The rest of the car ride home was silent until we all got inside. " Okay, everyone, get their chores done. Get in your gear and meet me out back by three," Ben yelled as we scattered through our house. "Okay," we all said together. That night training went well. I didn't rag on Joey like I threatened, too, and none of my siblings asked about the growl at the diner. As I went to my room to shower and get ready for bed, I finally realized my siblings could feel my emotions. They all already knew how I felt about Maxwell! OMG, I'm mortified they can feel that I'm sexually attracted to him. WTH? I have to avoid him. There's no way. Tomorrow I guess I should tell him that friendship probably isn't a good idea and maybe we should avoid each other. But wait, I didn't feel Joey was attracted to him when she made her comment at the diner... ohhh the little turd she could feel my emotions and wanted to prove a point. Oh, I'm gonna get her. ..

B.B.- Hey Joe, I have a question?

Joey - Yeah, sis, what's up?

B.B.- How did you know?

Joey- OH, come on, it wasn't that hard to figure out. Since the first day of school, you've been speechless around him. The only thing that thru me off was your reaction to the marriage proposal, but then again, I wouldn't want to be sold either, so I got that part. But today after school, when you walked to him, it was like something was guiding you. You felt happy, like really genuinely happy. When we got to the diner, Spade and I had a bet,,, welllll let's just say I'm forty bucks richer.

B.B.- So all of you can feel that right you can feel what I'm feeling. I think I might shut off our link when he's around. Or I just told him that tomorrow we shouldn't be friend's were not allowed to date or have relationships, so it just seems counterproductive.

Joey- Look B, I can't tell you what to do, and if shutting off your emotional link is what you need to do to be with him, then do it. But don't shut him out. You do so much for us, and you deserve this. Now we just need to find a good girl for Ben, what The Council doesn't know won't hurt them. Love you goodnight

Joey shut down our link before I could respond, probably hoping I would think about her words rather than just reply. I quickly got out of the shower, got dressed, brushed my teeth and my hair, and crawled into bed. It wasn't long from when my head hit the pillow that I was fast asleep. I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm huhhhh four a.m. is too early for anyone, let alone a hormonal she-wolf, having a fantastic s*x dream about her new crush and just before I cam all over his face. The last thing I remember is his yellow eyes looking up at me while he devoured me like he had been starved and wouldn't get his next meal for weeks. This is crazy. How can I be this into a stranger. I blushed as I wrapped myself back in my bed sheets and tried to get back to that dream. Only to be jolted awake by banging on my door from Tuck, " Hey, are we training before school or what? and please cut off your link before bed. I didn't appreciate your emotions all night. "

"Whhhattt your lying! I didn't dream last night, so shut up and get away from my door before you become my sparring partner for the morning, " trying to recover from my shock and embarrassment.

" Okay, whatever you say, sis, but just keep the link thing in mind."

Just when I thought the cost was clear, Ben opened my bedroom door with his black hair, completely a mess, and bloodshot eyes to give me a look of pure. This is all your fault. I gulp and looked like a deer in headlights. At this point I'm completely defeated, I just raised my hands and said " I got it turn off the link before bed, I'm sorry that's never happened before I didn't know" he leaned against my door frame and rubbed his face with both hands before speaking. "Look, us boys turn off our link before bed all the time. It's not a big deal." Wait, you do? why? oh no, never mind. eww definitely never mind. I can't believe he just admitted that to me. Wait, no, yes, I can there teenage boys, of course they do. "Well, thank Goddess for that. At least you saved yourself the embarrassment of the next morning," I said while shaking my head. I was still not able to look him in the eye. This is absolutely mortifying.

Instead of our usual run and sparring, we just did a three mile run. Apparently, my emotions all night really reaked havoc on my siblings. After everyone showered and ate, we all loaded up in the car and headed to school, I was so distracted about the link and the trouble I caused everyone I totally forgot to disconnect. So here I was again, letting them all know how guilty and disgusted I felt with myself. They must have all been mind linking because soon we were pulled over with everyone staring at me.

B.B.- "What guy's, I promise I'll cut it off tonight, okay! please don't be upset with me, I don't know what my problem is, I've never had a dream like that before. "

Ben- "Um B, we don't care about your dream or about how you feel about Maxwell. We just want you to stop feeling guilty about it, "

Tallie- " Yeah B we just want you to be happy. You and Ben have always put us first. You deserve happiness, so I say go for it! Plus, he is super hot! "

B.B.- " Grrrrr, s**t sorry. Don't know why I keep doing that. I'm so confused. "

Joey - " I told you last night how I felt, just remember what I said."

Ala- " I think the rule about us not being able to have mates is stupid, I think Ben should look for a chosen mate, and when I find mine, I'm not rejecting him. Unless he's like the male version of Crystal, then I will for sure! "

Asa- "I'm with Ala on this one all the way,"

Tuck- "Look, I think we all just need to get laid. All this s****l frustration can't be good for the health,"

Spade - "Only you dude would take our sister's emotional crises as an opportunity to talk about getting your d*** wet"

We all took a second to laugh it off and got back on the road to school. Today is gonna be a long day.
