"Happy 18th birthday Isolde!!!"
I slowly stirred my eyes open to the bright smiles of my mom and younger sister on my 18th birthday.
My head ached, and I felt a bit hazy. My mom, sensing my confusion, asked, "What's wrong, love? You've been waiting for this day so badly."
I forced a smile and replied, "I know. Thanks, Mum."
Tala, my younger sister, held a little cake, but when I tried to take it, she insisted, "No, no, no... You know as tradition, you're meant to make a wish and blow out all 18 candles."
For some reason, I wasn't feeling myself, and I requested, "Take it to the living room, sis. I'll be right down in a minute."
Tala sensed something was off and asked, "Sure you're alright?" I nodded and replied, "I just need to have a shower." She picked up the cake, leaving me alone in my room.
I stood up from the bed, feeling a bit disoriented. The room seemed to move with me as I walked. Muttering to myself, I placed my hands on my head and wondered, "What the hell is wrong?"
When I looked in the mirror, I noticed my hair was blonde. Whispering to myself, I said, "Hmm... I thought I dyed you brown." Dismissing it as a possible dream, I headed into the bathroom for a shower.
The cool water was refreshing, but my lack of excitement for my 18th birthday puzzled me. I couldn't recall the events of the previous night, and my memories were a blank sheet.
After a quick shower, I rushed downstairs to join my family. Tala noticed my outfit and was surprised.
"You didn't put on the red dress you picked up with Sabrina yesterday?" Confused, I realized I was in my regular clothes and had no memory of planning a special dress for my 18th birthday.
I said, "Uhmm... I did?"
Tala teased me, urging, "Come on, go change. We don't know if Alpha Darius might show up."
I choked instantly at the mention of Alpha Darius' name. I regained myself and managed to ask, "Alpha Darius?"
Tala, excitedly, responded, "Yes!! He will soon be crowned alpha, and who knows... you might just be his Luna."
Curious, I asked, "Hmmm... Why?"
Tala, fed up with my questions, turned to me, saying, "Are you for real?! Why are you acting like you were hit by a truck overnight, and you lost your memory?"
Actually, she had a point because that was exactly how I felt, I felt like I was hit by a truck overnight.
I got inside my room and spotted the red dress hanging on the wall beside my bed. Assuming it was the dress I had picked up with Sabrina, as Tala mentioned, I put it on, and it fitted perfectly.
Walking up to the mirror to take a look, to my surprise, I saw myself covered in blood. Startled, I yelled and jumped away from the mirror. Examining my dress, I felt its soft texture, wondering why I saw something else in the mirror.
Slowly and carefully, I took another glance, and this time, I saw myself in the pretty red dress. Rubbing my eyes, I looked again, relieved that there was no blood.
Heading downstairs, I encountered Sabrina, who yelled, "Happy birthday, sister!" Frozen at the sight of her, suddenly everything changed.
I saw myself with dark brown hair, lying on the floor bleeding, and Sabrina was there, laughing. Panicking, I yelled, "Somebody save me! Sabrina! I'm dying!!!"
Then, I watched Darius entering. Recognizing him as my Alpha Darius, I was his Luna, but he stood there, not saving me. I saw the happiness in Sabrina's eyes as Darius turned away from me.
Right in front of me, I saw myself as I….. I……
I couldn't believe my eyes and I yelled in frustration and pain, "f**k! f**k!! f**k!!!!" I actually died.
Suddenly, everything went back to normal, as if I was back from a trance. I saw Sabrina standing in front of me, smiling with a small box in her hands.
Everyone looked at me, wondering what was wrong. I moved my eyes, looking around, trying to understand what was happening. My hand moved to my laps as I straightened myself, trying to check if I was alive and winced in pain; I felt it. I muttered, "I'm alive."
Sabrina looked at me and asked, "Are you alright?" Anger flashed in my eyes as I looked at her, but I remained silent, not uttering a single word.
I rushed back to my room, ignoring Tala's calls as I went upstairs. She yelled, "Isolde!! Isolde!!!" but I didn't turn back.
In my room, I slammed the door shut, resting my back behind it as my heart pounded in my chest. Looking around, I muttered, "Is it what I'm thinking?"
The realization hit me—I was married to Alpha Darius, and I had died. He and Sabrina had killed me.
Panicking, I murmured, "No, no, no." Hastily, I moved to my mirror where a calendar sat on my dressing table. Examining the year, I gasped in shock and whispered, "Oh my God." It was real. I was reborn, sent back in time, sent back to my past life.
Looking at my reflection in the mirror, flashes of my previous life haunted me—I saw myself bleeding to death, and Alpha Darius turning his back on me. Everything made sense now.
The lack of memories and everything fell into place. The moon goddess had given me a second chance — a second chance to right my wrongs, prevent my death, and destroy all those who sought to harm me.
Suddenly, a knock on the door jolted me back, and Sabrina's voice reached my ears. "Isolde!! Isolde!!! Are you all right?"
My anger surged; all I desired was revenge, to make them all pay. With fury burning inside, I tightly gripped my metal comb from the table and hurriedly rushed to open the door……..
