“Is she dead?” Kelvin asked calmly, keeping his distance from us.
Everyone had given us some space when it was finally time to open the body bag and I was grateful for that.
My wife was stripped naked and beaten beyond recognition.
“s**t,” I whispered angrily, clenching my fists.
She had gone through too much and it was all my fault.
“Get some doctors in here now!” Kelvin ordered hastily, sending the other men out.
When the doctors and the nurses finally came into the room they asked everyone including me to leave.
“I am her husband, I will stay,” I said firmly, reluctant to let her leave my sight in that condition.
