Tania

It was 8:30am, Tania had dropped JJ off to school and was waiting for her first client to appear. She saw him walking across the car park, all 6 foot 6 of him. He belonged on the front of a magazine, he has short dark hair and deep brown eyes. Every muscle was defined across his chest, stomach, back and legs. Tania was an excellent personal trainer, every season for each client was tailored to meet their exact needs, even when they didn’t know what their needs were. Tim was a hard worker and always put in 110% to each workout, followed the diet plan and generally just loved himself too much not to. That was the problem, he knew the way he looked, he knew that if he took his top off all the girls would come running. But not Tania, oh how many times had he asked her out, 15? 20? She has lost count. She wasn’t interested, she always insisted that should wouldn’t date a client, but in reality her heart belonged to another. Jay, JJ’s father. He was the only man she had been with and the only man she had and would ever love.  “Looking good there Tee, you sure you can’t join me for dinner tonight?” Tim called when he spotted her waiting. “You know I hate being called Tee and again for the millionth time, No” Tania said as she opened the door for Tim to go in.  “Hahaha, one day you will get tired of saying no” Tim laughed as he passed her in the doorway.  “Over your dead body” she murmured to herself.  The rest of the day past as usual, 4 clients in the morning. Ranging for hulk like Tim, to soccer mum Sandra. Quick lunch and then 2 back to back afternoon yoga sessions. Tania loved her yoga session, the first was for slightly older people looking to loosen up. “Haha you teach granny yoga mum!” JJ has joked with her one day.  Then she had the “Mummy Tummy” squad as she liked to call them. Every Tuesday was the same, they bitched and moaned about their husbands and partners, then about their kids and how much mess they made. And finally about how having kids had ruined their figures. And each time Tania has suggested that she could whip a plan for them they shot her down.  “Ha, you think we are going to make different meals for ourselves and then our kids and husbands ? No thanks” one would say. “Do you think I would only be spending 45 minutes in a yoga class if I had time to do a full on workout regime??!!” Another would shout.  In the end Tania had given up, but they all loved her yoga and kept coming back for more. Tania had a few things to pick up at the shop, so she decided to pop in and see Gigi on her way to the shop. Gigi was her best friend for as long as they both could remember. When Gigi realised that Tania was leaving her home she insisted she come along. So here they were sat in Gigi office in the middle on Berksville. Berksville had 3 prep schools... it was filled with retired couple and upper middle class family’s. It was a beautiful town in the middle of the countryside. The nearest city was 30 miles west, not that Tania and Gigi had ever gone there.  Gigi sat at her desk, drumming her pencil, she was missing something in this case and didn’t know what. Being a lawyer was hard work, but she was of the best in town. Tania walked in to see her friend in the middle of a drum solo...  “Don’t you have a big case to close?” Tania asked as she flicked her long blonde plait back over her shoulder.  “Hehe, you caught me!” Chuckled Gigi, “I feel like I’m missing something about this case but I don’t know what” she explained as Tania took a seat.  “Do you ever wear anything other than yoga pants and sports tops?” Gigi teased her friend. She stood up to grab her bag. “Lunch is on me!”  “Do you ever wear anything but trouser suits and heels?” Tania bantered back.  Gigi was wearing a light grey suit with a baby pink blouse and pink shoes to match. Her thick brown hair was tastefully held up with a clip. Tania on the other hand was wearing black and purple 3/4 yoga pants, her favourite purple trainers and a black sports vest top. This was their usual attire. They looked a funny pair as they walked out the office and down to the Italian restaurant on the corner of the street.  Once seated they ordered quickly, a few minutes later their drinks arrived and they both sat back to chat. Gigi was a little tense Tania thanked the waiter and turned to her friend “just spit it out. Whatever you are going to say just say it. I don’t like it when people beat around the bush”  Gigi froze for a second, she knew what she was about to say would get a reaction from Tania but wasn’t sure what kind. “Soooo, it’s JJ’s birthday in 3 months. He will be 11.” She began, looking down at the table, afraid to look her bestest friend in the eye. “Well, um, usual boys at 11 would be presented with a family item...”  Tania shock her head and Gigi stopped.  “I do have something...” Gigi started to say.  “What???!!!” Tania shouted a little too loudly as she half jumped out her seat.  She composed herself and sat firmly back in her chair.  “You know that we can’t, he can’t know the true. It would destroy him.”  “If he knew the trust about his father he would never forgive me.”  Tania said in a calmer voice with a hint of sadness.  “Destroy him or you?” Gigi countered. This was why there were best friends, each one knew the other better than sisters know each other.  “Both” Tania finally said. “It’s not the right time, anyway we would need to discuss it with Luke.”  Gigi knew this was the end of the conversation. No arguing where Luke was involved.  The rest of lunch went on, usual conversation about Tanias client. The highlight being Tim asking her out again. Gigi couldn’t help but laugh. But all the time they sat in the Italian restaurant, Tania couldn’t shake the feeling she was being watched.  They hugged goodbye, Tania went off to the shop and then home. She needed to pick JJ up from school and drop him off at the martial arts centre.  Just as she was leaving the centre she saw Luke, talking to Maggie. *cough* s**t *cough*. Tania couldn’t stand that women and Maggie was scared shitless of Tania. As soon as Maggie caught sight of Tania she excused herself very quickly from her conversation with Luke. She headed quickly across the car park and into a car waiting with a man driving. Tania couldn’t see his face but she knew it was a man. He was in a car Tania had seen before. She shock that thought off, why does she care if Maggie has a new car? Or a new man for that matter?  “Why did you have to scare her away? You know it’s been weeks and I’ve had very little action, my balls are going blue!!” Luke whined.  “Um,yeah thanks for that information Lucas!” Tania said with a sarcastic tone. “It’s not my fault she volunteered for my self defence class and I put her on her a*s” Tania chuckled at the memory.  “Anyway, we need to talk about JJ’s birthday, not right now but soon” she paused for a second. “After all he is nearly 11”. Luke just nodded his head full of thought and walked silently into the centre.  Tania had 1 more client before she had to get JJ. The time passed quickly and before she knew it, JJ was in his pjs brushing his teeth.  “Oh mum!!!  today was so much fun with Uncle Luke, I am getting better I feel like I could be a Sky warrior!!” JJ said as he walked out the bathroom back to his bedroom.  “Could you tell me the story again please mum? You know it’s my favourite.” He asked as he climbed into his bed.  “Off course my darling, anything for you” Tania said and she sat down on the desk chair.
