Mr Thompson

Lola's POV The next morning started with chaos, and my wardrobe was the biggest problem. Mia had already pulled four outfits from my wardrobe and scattered them across my bed. "I seriously don't understand you." She glared at me before digging through my clothes again. "How do you have this many dresses and nothing suitable for an interview?" I blinked at her. She held up another gown and stared at me in disbelief. "Tell me you didn't spend all that money on these." "I'm sorry." I glanced at the dresses. "I wasn't preparing for an interview. I never thought I'd get approved." I only applied because Mia practically forced me to. She had never supported my current job, and honestly, I never expected the application to go anywhere. She rolled her eyes. "Enough excuses. The interview is in two hours, and we can't afford to be late." A few minutes later, I finally settled on black trousers and a blue shirt. Mia rolled up my sleeves and added a tiny blue belt around my waist. I looked at myself in the mirror. "Don't you think I look a little weird?" Mia immediately reached for her slipper. I quickly smiled. "I look beautiful." She packed my documents into my bag and handed it to me. "Listen carefully. Be professional. Be respectful. You applied for a secretary position, so you have to respect your boss regardless of their age." I sighed. "Mama Teresa, can you stop lecturing me? I know what I'm doing." She narrowed her eyes. "I'm serious, Lola." "I know." We hugged before I finally headed out. I checked my wristwatch. One hour and thirty minutes left. Plenty of time. At least, that's what I thought. Instead of going straight to the interview, I stopped at a chicken restaurant. I sat beside the window and took a huge bite of fried chicken. My eyes closed in pleasure. "Mmm..." I followed it with a gulp of cold yoghurt. If it weren't for the interview, I would have ordered alcohol too. But Mama Teresa's warning echoed in my head. Be professional. I took my time enjoying the chicken, completely forgetting about the clock. When I finally checked my phone, my jaw nearly dropped. "Thirty minutes?!" I jumped out of my seat. "Holy s**t!" How had I spent an entire hour eating chicken? Twenty minutes later, the taxi stopped in front of a gigantic multistory building. I stepped out and stared at the Big T Company. The largest company owned by the Thompson family. I've seen this building countless times on television, but standing in front of it was completely different. I suddenly remembered why I was there. The interview. I grabbed my bag and hurried inside. The elevator took me to the required floor. I kept checking my wristwatch as the numbers changed. Three minutes. Please don't let me be late. The elevator doors opened. I rushed down the hallway and finally stopped in front of the interview room. My palms were suddenly sweaty, and my legs suddenly felt weak. "You can do this, Lola" I took a deep breath and knocked. "Come in." A woman's voice came from inside. I opened the door and stepped in quietly. Three people sat behind a long table, two men on either side and a woman in the middle. My heart began pounding. I walked toward them and bowed respectfully. "Good morning." The woman looked at me. "Please, have a seat." I sat down carefully, keeping my hands together on my lap. The interview had finally begun. The woman stared at me from head to toe, but her eyes lingered on my chest. Then she glanced down at her own before looking back at mine. "Hello, my name is Lola Smith" I beamed a gentle smile. Mia told me to keep a good impression. I had to stay chill even though one of the female judges looked like a confused chicken. Her expression was the worst, but I bet it is because I looked more beautiful than her. Anyways, let's focus. "Your resume shows a lot of potential. Can you please explain what you will do if you are hired as the secretary?" The man sitting on the left side spoke while going through my resume. I was about to respond when the woman interrupted. "Your resume is not impressive" I rolled my eyes; this ugly duckling won't stop until she gets on my nerves. "What do you mean, ma'am? I haven't explained myself yet" She scoffed. "I don't need an explanation to recognise a useless person like you" Her eyes were still somehow fixed on my chest. I watched the two men lower their gazes and gritted my teeth. Judging from her outfit, she looked important. "I'm not useless, ma'am; you just need to get your eyes checked." I relaxed my shoulders. Since it seems like she won't hire me, I need to put her in her place. At least a factory rest in her brain will do the job. "What?" She squeezed her face. The two men exchanged shocked glances, causing me to smirk. "Welcome to Lola's discipline premium package", I said inwardly. "You heard me right. Talking about being useful, I will say you are very innocent. I've never seen someone dress their body so well while leaving their brain completely naked.” She roared. "Heyyyyyyyyyyyy!" "Save your breath, I'm not done yet. When I see a b***h like you, I can definitely tell you are trying to use your body to get attention" I made a disgusted face. "So sad the body isn't even hot enough to make a magazine cover" "How dare you!" She moved closer to me. I laughed dryly. "Come to mama, and I will give your face a bloody red colour!" I folded my fist, waiting for her to come closer. Even Mother Teresa had warned me to stay respectful; a b***h like her doesn't deserve to go scot-free. She is obviously jealous of my body. Just then, the door opened. The two men echoed as they bowed. "Mr Thompson!!" The lady also bowed, and I chuckled. "Wow! So she is nothing but a mere worker, acting as if the world belongs to her," I said inwardly. A voice rang out. "What's happening here?" I frowned; why is that voice familiar? Slowly, I turned toward the door. Bam! My heart nearly stopped. Zack! The same man at the restaurant yesterday. "Mr Thompson?" "Zack is Mr Thompson?" It was at that moment I knew I dug my own grave. "Arghhhhhhhhh”
