Chapter 011. Zack's POV. The shooting range was the only place I knew I could go when my father's voice stuck in my head. Leo stood beside me, adjusting the protective glasses over his face as I checked the target in front of us. The afternoon sun beat down on the open range, and the distant sound of gunfire came from the other side of the property. Construction was still going on around the main building, but I stopped the workers from moving materials between the unfinished walls and the storage area where we kept the weapons. I need time alone. I fired again; the bullet landed close to the center. Leo lowered her gun and glanced at me. "You are going to destroy that target." "That is the idea." "No. The idea is to shoot, not take out your father's anger on a piece of paper."
