I woke up early the next morning with one thought in my mind: Lola. After seeing her shivering in Zack’s arms last night, I could not stop thinking about how pale she had looked, and when Zack brought her home, he told me she had developed a fever while they were on their way back.
I had tried calling her several times after Zack left. Still, she had barely managed to answer before falling asleep again, so I decided that the best thing I could do was go shopping for groceries and make something warm for her, even if I had to spend the entire day forcing her to eat.
