TREVOR'S POV
As I walked out of the diner, I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd just met someone special. Ellaine, the waitress, had been apologetic and kind, despite the chaos I'd caused earlier that morning. Her bright smile and sparkling eyes had caught my attention, and I found myself wanting to know more about her.
I glanced back at the diner, wondering if I'd ever see her again. The bike, which I'd knocked down earlier, was being repaired by the owner. I felt a pang of guilt, knowing I'd caused her inconvenience.
As I walked to my office again I couldn't stay at home, I couldn't stop thinking about Ellaine. She was different from the people I usually met in my line of work. There was something genuine about her, something that drew me in.
When I realized I'd left my briefcase behind, I turned back to the diner. Ellaine was cleaning up, her hair tied back in a ponytail. She looked up and smiled, and I felt a jolt of attraction.
As I picked up my briefcase, our conversation flowed easily. I learned she was kind, hardworking, and had a quick wit. I found myself wanting to spend more time with her.
The next day, I found myself thinking about Ellaine again. I wondered if she'd be interested in grabbing coffee with me. I picked up my phone and dialed the number Mrs. Jenkins had given me.
When she answered, her voice was warm and inviting. "Hello?"
"Ellaine, it's Trevor Conor. I was wondering if you'd like to grab that coffee I promised you," I said, trying to sound casual.
There was a pause, and for a moment, I thought I'd overstepped. But then she said, "I'd love to."
I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement. This was going to be interesting.
As I hung up the phone, a sense of anticipation washed over me. I couldn't believe I'd asked Ellaine out for coffee. It wasn't like me to be so impulsive. But there was something about her that drew me in.
I spent the rest of the day distracted, my mind wandering back to our conversation. I couldn't help but wonder what she was like outside of the diner. Did she have any hobbies? What did she like to do for fun?
When the time arrived, I pulled up to the coffee shop, feeling a little nervous. I'd been on countless business meetings and high-stakes negotiations, but this felt different. This was personal.
As I stepped inside, I spotted Ellaine sitting at a table by the window. She looked beautiful, her hair down and a smile on her face. I felt a pang of attraction as I walked over to her.
"Hey," I said, trying to sound casual. "Thanks for meeting me here."
Ellaine smiled, and I felt my heart skip a beat. "No problem, thanks for inviting me," she replied.
We ordered our coffee and sat down, chatting easily about everything from our jobs to our families. I was surprised by how much we had in common. She was smart, funny, and had a kind heart.
As we talked, I found myself feeling more and more at ease. I couldn't believe I'd almost missed out on meeting her.
"So, what do you like to do for fun?" I asked, curious about her interests.
Ellaine laughed. "Well, I'm a bit of a movie buff. I love old classics."
I grinned. "Me too! What's your favorite movie?"
We spent the next hour discussing everything from Casablanca to The Godfather. I was impressed by her knowledge and insight.
As the coffee shop started to close, I realized I'd been there for hours. "I'm so sorry, Ellaine. I've taken up so much of your time," I said, feeling a pang of regret.
Ellaine smiled. "It's okay, I've had a great time. I should probably get going anyway."
As we walked out of the coffee shop, I felt a sense of disappointment. I didn't want the night to end.
"Would you like to grab dinner with me sometime this week?" I asked, feeling a little nervous.
Ellaine smiled, and my heart skipped a beat. "I'd love to."
I walked her home, feeling a sense of excitement. As we stood outside her old apartment, I turned to her. "Thanks for tonight, Ellaine. I had a great time."
Emily smiled up at me. "Me too, Trevor. Me too."
I leaned in, my heart pounding in my chest. And then I kissed her.
As we pulled back, Ellaine smiled. "I think I'm going to like spending time with you."
I grinned, feeling a sense of joy. "I think I'm going to like that too."
