“Ellaine"!!! my mother's voice jolted me up from my peaceful sleep.it's another Monday morning and I have to prepare for work, I rolled out of my wooden bed and went to the bathroom that's made of wood to freshen up.
I work at a pizza shop from 8:00am till 2:00pm, then another back up job at a restaurant as a waitress. I do alot of menial jobs to save money for my mother's surgery, yes you heard right my mother's surgery she has kidney disease and has to undergo a surgery that cost a lot of money. so I work to raise up the money but it's still not enough
Ohh my bad my name is Ellaine Castillo I'm the only child of my mother, she's a single mom.
“Yes mom Good morning mom" I replied as I walked out of the room
“ morning sweetie" she replied as she was busy in the kitchen
“mom I've told you to stop stressing yourself you're sick let me take care of you" I said frowning
“oh sweetie I've told you I'm fine besides you know how much I love cooking for you before you leave for work" she replied softly
“ I know mom but you have to rest,” I said
“ okay I've heard you, but come have your breakfast before you leave” she said calmly
I went to dish out the food for both of us, after breakfast I took my old bag from the tattered couch in the living room and bid my mom good bye
I got to work and began my shift
“Hey bestie” Ruby says as she joined me in the counter
“ Hey b***h,how you doing” I replied leaning on the counter
” I'm good what about your mom is she good” she said
“ well mom is good but I know she's not fine she's dying and I've not been able to raise half of the money needed for the surgery, I don't know what to do anymore ” I sobbed on her shoulder
” there, there don't cry we'll find a way out don't loose hope” she replied as she she Pat my back
“ I hope so I don't wanna loose her she's all I have” I said
” don't worry she's our mom well find a way, now let's get to work”
Well ruby is my best friend we started working together in this pizza shop for three years now she's someone God sent to me as a blessing she's been very supportive towards me and my mum I can't appreciate her enough.
