The invitation wasn’t an invitation. It was a summons, delivered by a man with knuckles like worn river stones and a voice that left no room for discussion. This was the first time since the whole saga that I would be making a decision without my best friend, Becky. I didn't bother to inform her about going to the party. I knew I was wrong, but I didn't need some idea that would mess with my brain right now. ……….. I jumped up from the bed and reached for my watch. “Oh my God!!!” I exclaimed.
