Chapter Eighteen Chasing shadows. The brilliant flashes of red and blue lights overwhelmed my exhausted senses, but I pushed forward, running on gut instinct to where I saw the figure. I moved briskly, enough to keep pace but not to draw the person’s unwanted attention. Hustling through the small crowd, I edged a few people aside, before moving to the spot I saw moments before; the dark patch near the evergreen tree.
