Chapter Eight

2067 Words
-Saturday, July 22nd, 2023- I had breakfast with my aunt then watched her spend the rest of the morning getting ready for her date with Joseph. I never seen her so flustered before. It’s so adorable. She’s already changed her outfit ten times. “You look beautiful Guinevere. Stop worrying so much. Every single outside you’ve tried on has been beautiful. And no matter what you wear he will be over joyed to see you,” I tell her, laying down on her bed. “I don’t know. Maybe I need a different outside. This one seems rather plain,” she says, looking in her full length mirror. I get up off the bed and walk over to her closet, I pull a figure forming red dress out of her closet and turn around to hand it to her. “Put this on and don’t change again,” I tell her, placing it into her arms. She looks at the dress then sets it down on her bed while she strips down to her under clothes. She puts the dress she had been wearing previously back on its hanker and puts it into her closet. She then walks up to her bed, picks the dress up and slips into it. She turns around and walks over to her mirror, smiling at her reflection. “I love it. This is it, it’s perfect. Thank you so much,” she says, sounding ecstatic. She comes over to me and hugs me tightly, a little too tight. “You’re crushing me. I’m having a hard time breathing, but you’re welcome,” I tell her, trying to get out of her arms. She pulls away and looks at me, saying, “Sorry, didn’t mean to hurt you. I just need to do my makeup now. He insisted on picking me up so he’ll be here in about half an hour.” She grabs her makeup bag and walks over to her vanity table, sits down and starts applying her makeup. “Alright. You enjoy yourself. I know you will. I’m going to go take a shower and get ready for my show later,” I tell her, waving goodbye. I walk out of her room and head down the stairs to the main floor where I keep my stuff. It doesn’t matter much what I wear as I’ll be changing into whatever it is they want me to wear. But I’ll do my makeup to make sure I’m ready for the show. I go into my room and grab a spaghetti strap green shirt and some jean shorts that have cut of fray at the bottom. I pull out clean panties and a strapless bra. Then I head to the bathroom to take a shower. I step into the shower and turn the water on. I quickly wash my body and my hair then I take my time to shave all the hair on my body till I am super smooth and free of hair. Once I’m finished I turn the water off and get out of the shower, grabbing a towel off the towel rack. I ring my hair out dry my body off then put some moose and anti fizz products into my hair, running it through with my hands. Once I’m completely dry I put my clean clothes on and head back to my room to do my make, with the new stuff I had gotten the other day. Guinevere walks into my room fully done up and ready to go. “What do you think?” She asks me, standing proper as she looks at me sitting on my hammock. I look up from my mirror and smile at her. “You look just like mom. Radiant and beautiful,” I tell her, meaning every word of it. “Thank you Rose, that means a lot to me. Well I’m going to head out. Joseph just got here but I wanted to show you the finished look before I leave,” she tells me, sounding gitty. I smirk and say, “You better go get him then. I’ll see you later. Just remember I have a fashion show I’m modeling for at 3pm today so I won’t be here. I’m going to go take a walk and find somewhere to eat lunch.” “Okay Rose, stay safe. I love you,” she says, blowing me a kiss. “I love you too and I will, now get going,” I tell her, shooing her out of the room. She laughs and runs out of the room, down the hall and out the door. I watch from my doorway as she closes the door behind her. I go back to my hammock and finish applying my makeup then I put everything away, stick my phone in my back pocket and take my purse. I walk out of my room and leave the house, locking the door behind me. Once outside I get onto the sidewalk and start walking up the street till I spot a cute little café that’s not far from my aunts house. I make the decision to go inside and walk up to the door just as someone comes out, they hold the door for me and I walk inside. I look around the café and spot a breath taking beauty sitting down in a booth by herself. She has a coffee mug in front of her and she’s swirling her finger in it. I get into the line up and get myself a fancy coffee and a sandwich. With my hands full I make my way over to that beautiful woman. I stop in front of her booth and look into her gorgeous light blue eyes, like the sky during a sunny day. She has freckles going across her cheeks and nose. And she has a short bob styled fiery red hair. Her skin is pale and she seems to have a medium build. I open my mouth and say, “I couldn’t help noticing that you look a little lost over here. Do you mind if I sit with you?” She looks at me and smiles with the most genuine smile ever and says, “I would love that.” I sit down in the booth across from her. And start eating my sandwich as I’m pretty hungry and I knew my coffee was too hot. “I come here often and this is the first time I’ve seen you here. Are you new around here?” she asks me, trying to start a conversation. I finish chewing my food and say, “I’ve lived here all my life but I used to live in a different area. I’ve been with my aunt for a couple of weeks or so now. But I don’t usually come here. My aunt usually cooks and I eat at home or I go out to the mall. I’ve been a bit busy lately. I have a modeling show I’m doing at 3pm today.” “You’re a model? That’s so cool. Well you are quite beautiful so I don’t doubt that. I’m Alexia by the way. What’s your name?” she asks me, bringing her mug up to her lips. Damn are those lips sexy or what. Why am I feeling this way? My heart is pounding in my chest and all I want to do is take her and kiss her. Nothing like how I felt about Annabelle. This is so intense. And the way she’s looking at me, damn it looks like she feels the same. “My name’s Rose. Are you from around here?” I ask her, curious to know what she’ll say. “Not really, no. I’m from Moncton, New Brunswick. I came up here to take my nursing course. My whole family are doctor’s but I wanted to become a nurse instead and I needed a change of scenery but I’m going back once I’m finished my course. I have a year an a half left then I’m heading back to Moncton. My parents weren’t crazy about me coming here and I feel a bit out of place but that changed the minute you walked over here. I don’t know what it is but there’s something about you,” she tells me, looking down at her mug. A blush comes over her cheeks. She’s so adorable. I can’t even handle it. “I know what you mean. I haven’t really been feeling like this is where I belong either. I’m only here because this is where my family is and I still have a year left of school. But when I came in here I saw you and I just needed to meet you. I feel like we were meant to meet. Do you believe in fate? I ask her, reaching my hand out. Her head shoots up and she stares at me intensely, reaching out her own hand, she grabs onto mine, intertwining her fingers with mine. “I do. I see it in my parents and I always wanted it for myself. Are you saying?” “Yes. I believe we’re fated to be together,” I tell her, pushing my stuff out of the way. She moves her mug to the side and leans in, sticks her hand behind my head and kisses me in a way I’ve never been kissed before. It felt like fireworks going off in my head and all I cared about in this moment was her and our lips together. We pull away and sit back in our seats, just staring at each other. “Would you like my number?” she asks me, turning red again. I pull my phone and open up my contacts, saying, “Sure. You can put it right in here.” I hand my phone over to her, sliding it across the table. She picks it up and starts putting in her information then saves it and slides my phone back over to me. “There you are, just send me off a text and I’ll have your number in my phone. I do just that and attach my name to the text so that she knows it’s me. “Sent, now you have my number too,” I tell her with a smile. We talk a bit more, getting to know each other while I eat my sandwich and drink my coffee. Then my phone dings so I look at it. It’s a text message from Adrian, asking if I’m ready to go. I look at the time and see that it’s 2:30. “Oh s**t. I have to go. But I was really happy to meet you. I hope we can see each other again soon,” tell Alexia, getting up from my seat. I stick my phone into my back pocket and start walking away. Alexia gets up with me and follows me out. “Could I walk you home?” She asks me, reluctant to say goodbye just yet. “Sure, but it’s not very far,” I tell her, walking back towards my aunt’s place. It doesn’t take long before I spot Adrian’s car. “I hope he’s not mad.” “Who, and why would he be mad?” She asks me, looking around. “Sorry Alexia. I really need to be going. I truly am glad I met you.” Before I can finish what I’m saying her lips are on mine again and her arms are wrapped around me. She pulls away from me and says, “I’ll see you soon.” Then she walks away. I quickly go over to Adrian’s car and get inside, closing the door behind me. Adrian looks at me with a smile and says, “Were you just out getting yourself a girlfriend?” “I took a walk then went into a café to get something to eat and happened upon a beautiful girl that I was drawn to. And she seems to feel the same way about me. Now aren’t we supposed to be getting to a fashion show right now?” I ask him, buckling my seatbelt. Adrian snickers and says, “Alright. I’ll stop teasing you. I’m happy to see you found someone though.” He pulls away from the curb and heads for the fashion show.
