40 WinnieBuckled in to Nora’s passenger seat, Winnie glanced behind her. Gifts had overflowed from the trunk into it. Her sporty Kia couldn’t have contained them all. Nora’d been right to insist she chauffeur them to the shower in the Buick. As Nora got her car onto the east-west artery, Winnie blew her nose again. Her blubbering had gone completely out of control. She’d barely managed to squeak out a farewell thank you to Andrea.
