The new room

Lobelliana’s P.O.V. A few days later, “Again, I am so sorry that it took this long for us to go and get you new clothes.” Ann, my new mom, told me for the billionth time. After I agreed for her and Brett, her mate, to adopt me, they immediately got in touch with someone they said was a lawyer, and then he introduced himself as Duke Turner. After explaining what the situation was, he said he would have to pull some strings and get me something called a birth certificate, and a social security card. He also said that he wouldn’t necessarily have to go through a full adoption process where he had to get a birth certificate; he could just put Anne and Brett as my birth parents. We all agreed that would be best. After the meeting, they showed me to an empty room a few floors above where I was originally staying. It was a lot bigger than my last room, and I was confused as to why I had to move rooms, and why they showed me to an empty room that was supposed to be mine. It was like Brett could sense it. Before I could ask a question, Brett placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze. “It doesn’t look like much now, but once we get you furniture and some decorations, it will be your own safe place. Let me go get my wallet and let’s go shopping for your room. You and Anne can go get in my truck and we will head out.” He said to me and Anne. Anne nodded. She grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs. As we reached the ground floor, we passed some kids around my age. As my eyes met with the boy who looked like a mini version of Mr. Rob, but he had Suzy’s eyes, he smiled at me and nodded. I smiled back before, a pain in my arm forced me to speed up to catch up with Anne. She led me to a door. Once she opened the door, I saw a bunch of objects that had wheels, some had two wheels, and others had four. She led me to an object where half of it was covered, and the other half had walls, but they weren’t very thick or high walls before they dipped back down and created a box. As I stared at it, perplexed Anne opened part of the box, part before looking at me. “Have you ever seen cars before?” she asked as she noticed my confused expression. I shook my head, “We don’t have things like this in my village. All our vehicles were powered by animals. We were pretty self sufficient with our ice magic though. We never really needed to leave the village,” I said before I clamped my hand over my mouth. I wasn’t going to say anything about being a wizard. Anne just smiled and took my hand, “I know about your magic. You really aren’t that different from us, but I understand that you don’t want to tell anyone. Here, let me help you into the truck. I will show you how to put on the seatbelt.” I nodded, “How did you know that I had magic?” “As werewolves, we worship a goddess, the Goddess of the Moon. She is the mother of all wolves. Last night she came to Brett and me and told us about you, and that you were supposed to become our pup.” She said as she helped me step into the truck. “Oh… Did she tell you why I had to leave my village? Or if Dran is, okay?” I asked. “She didn’t say anything about Dran, but she said that it was for your safety. You are a very special girl, Lobelliana, she has a very important plan for you.” Anne replied. “Here, take this and put this metal part onto the plastic piece on the seat.” I did as I was told and there was a clicking sound. When I let it go, the belt that was attached to the metal piece stayed snug around my body. Anne fixed part of it that went across my chest. “This is to help prevent you from getting hurt if we were to get into a collision with another car.” She explained. No sooner had she said that did Brett appear and get onto the other side of the truck onto a seat that had a wheel in front of it. Anne got her into the seat next to her after shutting the door that was next to her. He pulled out a ring with a bunch of keys on it and put one in part of the wheel and the truck made a noise and started to vibrate. “Max, Eli, and Nathan are coming with us, to help with carrying things and for extra room to bring things home. We will have Lobelliana place things in the room how she wants and then they will build her furniture.” Brett said. Anne nodded. “It’s Lana….” I said, “Everyone calls me Lana.” Brett and Anne just smiled. After the ride, we stopped at this store called “IKEA”. When Brett stopped and turned off his truck, I noticed two more trucks were doing the same thing next to him, both of which had things behind the uncovered part of the truck. Anne got out of the truck and opened my door. “You know the plastic thing you put the buckle into to buckle your seat belt?” I nodded. “Well, when there is a red button, push it and the seatbelt will release,” she instructed. I looked at the plastic piece and saw the red button and pushed it. There was another clicking sound and the belt started to retract across my body. After Anne helped me out of the truck, we walked into IKEA. The store was huge. There were all kinds of different furniture; rugs, lighting, bedding, curtains, and other things. Brett, Anne, and the other three men that followed us started to lead me towards the section with the beds. I looked at all of them, trying to find one I liked, maybe one that reminded me of home. That’s when I saw it. The bed part was high, there was enough space for us to walk underneath it. It was made of wood. The design reminded me of the bunk beds that Dran and I used to share. I left the group and went up to it, reading the label near it, I found out it was a type of bed called a “Loft bed”, and it was a “Queen size”. There was also a price on it that I didn’t know how to read. “Is this the one you want Lana?” Brett asked me. I nodded. “Okay, I’ll grab one of these and we can continue shopping. Let's go and have you try mattresses next.” He replied. ~four hours later~ We checked out after finding the bed, mattress, a couple of rugs, a couch, a desk, a chair, some lamps, some bedding, a couple of side tables and some curtains. The cashier had to have someone go into the back and start gathering the pieces of furniture we bought while the bedding, rugs, and curtains were carried out by us. After the guy that went back to gather the furniture went back to find it, the three guys left to go to the “loading dock” with their trucks and trailers. I was exhausted after that shopping trip, so after we got into the truck we went home. At home, I put the boxed, unbuilt furniture the way that I wanted it and Anne, Brett and I went down to the kitchen to eat dinner. Tonight, was a type of noodle dish with red sauce that had meat in the sauce as well as some balls of meat which Anne told me were called meatballs and that dinner was spaghetti and meat balls. She also said there was garlic bread, bread sticks and garlic knots. After a very filling dinner, they walked me up to my room and helped me into bed. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow. I spent all the next day just finishing up my room and adding a little magical flair. This morning, Anne asked if I wanted to go and get some clothes for my closet, so I didn’t have to wear the same thing every day. I agreed and we went into the room with all the cars again, only this time we got into a car that was completely covered. The driver was one of the guys from the other day, and in the seat next to him was the other guy that rode with him. We went to a place Anne called the mall and spent the next seven hours shopping.
