Becoming a family part two

Ann’s P.O.V

As we stood in front of the Alpha’s office, a cold sweat started to run down my back.

‘Poppy, maybe this isn’t a good idea... What if the Alpha and Luna say no to us taking her in as our own?’

‘You and I both know that that won’t happen. They are too much of a follower of the Moon Goddess to deny us our pup once we explain the dream we had.’ Poppy reassures me.

I take a deep breath and knock on the closed office door.

“ENTER” We hear Alpha Rob say.

After opening the door and entering the office we see him sitting behind his desk with Luna Suzy sitting on the couch. Taking a deep breathe I smile and bow politely to the Alpha and Luna. Brett follows and we sit down on the couch across from Luna Suzy. She smiles warmly at us.

“Ann, Brett, I wasn’t expecting you to mind link me so early this morning needing to talk about the girl we found yesterday. Is everything alright?” Luna Suzy asks, a hint of concern in her voice.

I simply nod, “everything is wonderful.”

“Then what do you need to talk to us about? I was going to contact a Child welfare worker a little later today to come and get her. We need to find her a family that can take care of her and help her work through the trauma of what she has went through. I don’t think anyone in our pack will take her as she isn’t a wolf.” Alpha Rob says as he makes his way from his desk to sit next to his mate.

Brett and I look at each other and nod, agreeing that I would be the one to talk about our dream first.

“Yesterday, I went to see the pack doctor about how Brett and I have yet to conceive our own pup, and I was told that it would be nearly impossible for us to conceive naturally... I was heartbroken.” I took a deep breath as I felt the tears threaten to take over; “but last night I had a dream where the Moon Goddess came to me. She said that the girl that was found, is a prophesied Luna of another pack in the future. She said that Lobelliana was sent here so that we could raise her and get her ready to become a Luna.”

“You know me Rob, I am usually skeptical about things like this, but I had the same dream, I even saw her future wolf. It is real.” Brett added.

The Luna and Alpha looked at each other and their eyes both clouded over, meaning they were talking amongst themselves. Five minutes later they both looked at us.

“Brett, we grew up together, I trust your judgement, however, I want to make sure that you know what the poor girl could go through being raised as a human in a pack of werewolves. She very well could be outcasted among those in her age group. Is that something that you and Ann are okay with dealing with?” Rob finally asked.

“Yes.” We both said simultaneously.

‘If they only knew.’ Poppy chuckled in my head.

“Very well. How about we go and introduce you to your new pup?” Luna Suzie said as she stands up. We all follow in suit and exit the office. Brett squeezes my hand as we make our way to Lobelliana’s room.

Lobelliana’s P.O.V.

~In Her Dream~

I look around and see my mom, dad, and twin brother; we are all sitting around our table eating our birthday dinner. I see our cake, it has the number 10 candles. We were celebrating early for some reason. My dad is talking to my mom about something, the voices are mumbled as Dran and I race to finish our dinner so we can open presents. I am really excited to see his face when he opens the cross I got him.

After dinner I excitedly had him his present, before he can hand me mine and beg him to open it. I am so excited to see his expression, I worked hard on doing any extra village chores to pay for the materials and helped make the it myself. I knew he was going to love it. Right as he opens it and gets his awe expression that I knew he would get there is a scream from outside.

Our dad, being the chief, runs out to see what is going on. He doesn’t get the door completely closed and Dran and I see a green beam destroying the village. We run to the door with our mom to start leaving. As we are running to leave the village I trip. Before I can get up there is a man standing over me.

He picks me up by the throat and brings me close to him, Whispering in my ear, “Here you are little wolf. Once I kill you, I will be unstoppable. The world will bow to my every whim.” Then he throws me back to the ground, and starts walking towards me. In his hand a black magic Circle appears with smoke coming from it. I close my eyes and wait for the pain of the hit to come, but instead I hear several Growls. I turn open my eyes and see a big wolf standing in front of me, and several other slightly smaller ones forming a protective circle around me. The wolf challenging the wizard who was going to kill me was pure black, it had its fur standing on end and its ears back, ready to attack if he got any closer. The Wizard just laughs.

“You may have protected her this time, but your precious mates prophecy will end in me killing her. Your Luna and mate will die by my hand. Just like the rest of her people.” He says and starts manically laughing.

~End Dream~

I bolt straight up in the bed I was given by the couple I talked to yesterday. I am crying as I grip the ice crystal necklace the elders gave me. I look around and see it was just a dream. I get out of bed and go into the bathroom to get into the shower.

I cant shake the feeling that that was more that just a dream. Who was that man? What did he mean when he told that Black wolf that his Luna was going to die by his hand. I can’t be a Luna, I am not like the people here. I shake off the dream as just a bad nightmare and get out of the shower.

I walk into the closet and see that they have clothes that look like they might fit me but I’m not sure, I also see that the clothes I wore the day prior have been washed so I just put those on. As I walk out of the closet there is a knock at the door.

When I open it I see Rob and Suzy there s well as another couple that smile and get teary eyed when they see me. Something about the couple feel like… home… Like I will be safe with them.

“Ah I am glad we didn’t wake you up dear.” Suzy says.

“Uh, no, you didn’t I uh, I had to use the bathroom and just decided to get up for the day.” I replied hoping that it was believable.

“I see, well do you mind if we come in. Our Betas, Brett and Ann have decided to take you in as their own, if you are okay with it.” Rob said.

The woman that was with them looked hopeful when we made eye contact, slowly I nodded and moved over to let them into my room. We all sat down in the seating area, Rob’s eyes did the weird cloudy thing again, and shortly after some food was brought up for me.

Suzy was the first to speak, “Lana, I know that you have been through a lot recently. More than any kid should ever face, but Ann and Brett are good people, they want to adopt you, you would be staying here with us, but in a different room. You would be the beta’s daughter, a position of power. Are you alright with that?”

I looked at her, and then slowly looked over to them, they looked so hopeful and my gut was screaming that this was the right choice. I took a drink of the milk that was brought to me with my meal and looked Suzy dead in the eye and nodded.

“I don’t know why, but my gut is saying that they are who I need to stay with.” I responded.

Anne, jumped up from her spot on the couch and hugged me. After a minute of shock, I slowly hugged her back. I couldn’t help but cry at the feeling I got when I was in her arms. For the first time in several weeks, the one thing I longed to feel I finally felt.

I felt safe.
