“Hey, sexy mama! Where have you been? I feel like I haven’t seen you much since you moved to your new house!” Marley hugged me with one arm while balancing a case of beer in the other.
“I’ve been around. Just getting settled.” I said, taking the heavy case from her.
“Damn, girl! I am always amazed and how strong you are,” she said as she opened the door to her bar. “Hey, I heard you weren’t feeling well the other day. Are you sure you’re ready to come back to work now? You know I don’t mind if you take all the time you need. Even though you’re my best bartender and I miss you like cray cray.” She batted her long lashes and gave me a weak, nervous smile. I laughed.
