Chapter 28 - Requiem“Where are you?” I asked Quist into the phone.
“In our hospital. On the vampire side.” He sounded slightly winded.
“I'll be there as quick as I can.” I ended the call and looked at Lindee. Hobart walked into the room.
“I've just got a call,” I explained to Hobart. “Fritz is in a coma.”
“What?” he said. “You mean that scrawny black kid?” Hobart looked startled. I realized I hadn't told Hobart about this. There was so much to cover.
“Yeah. I'll tell you about it on the way down.” We strode out of the room. “He was injured the other night when they were out hunting rogues. I'm going down to the hospital where Quist is. He probably could use some friends right now.”
