Chapter 22 - EmmaWhen Bill entered the hospital where they had taken Emma, he knew what room number she was in without asking. The usual chemical smells that he associated with hospitals caught him off guard. They seemed stronger than he remembered. Not that he visited people in hospitals much. He knocked on room 109. A frail voice said, “Come in.” When he pushed the door open, he tried to prepare himself, but there was no way to prepare to see Emma, a frail woman of 79, in a hospital bed. If she were human, instead of the descendant of Nephilim, she would not have sustained the injuries she had and lived. Her hip was broken—this he knew the moment he stepped inside her room. How he knew, he wasn't sure. Possibly he had some sort of second sight, now. But, he knew the demon in her living
