Chapter 11

We sat in my office going over plans but my mind was in a million places. I bounce my pen on my notebook while spinning Blake's ring "Leila are you ok?" I hear Xander in the mindlink which must have been the only way to get me to snap out of it. I look up and sigh, "sorry guys my mind is in a million places'' Xander sighs "what's on your mind sis?" I sit back running my hand over my face. "Now that Blake is gone I'm going to need something to distract me, so I plan on starting up at the hospital soon. I've contacted them and they said once I get home I can start." I look at them before continuing "well I have been thinking as we will need someone we can leave here to watch the pack but also trust worthy enough to run it and not completely kill everyone off" my eyes glaze over as I send a link to someone. The door to my office opens and the guys turn to see my oldest brother Jason walks in. I smile "Jason thank you for coming please have a seat" I say motioning to an empty seat beside Tyson he sits.

I look at Jason as he sits "Jason you have already met my brother Xander" he nods his head "Alpha Xander" Xander nods. "This is Tyson he is the head of security” Tyson shakes his hand “nice to meet you Jason” “likewise sir” Jason replies then he looks at me “why am I here Leila” he asks gently. I look at him “Jason, over the time that I have been here I have gotten to know you and I have seen you train, you are a great warrior, also I have come to know you as my brother and I have enjoyed our times together.” I sit up “Jason we need someone to watch this pack as I will be leaving to go back to blue moon once Xander takes over the pack I trust you enough to be able to help keep this pack alive as you were originally meant to take over as alpha anyways before I came along.” His eyes go wide as he sits back looking around. I can see him processing everything I just said. He then looks up at me “I…..I don’t know if I am ready” I smile “you are Jason and you won’t be alpha Xander will you will just be here to watch over the pack, you will report anything and everything to Xander, if there is anything you are needing it will need to be ran by Xander you are just here to make sure the pack is protected and has someone they can communicate to.” I say looking between Xander and Jason. Xander sits up in his seat looking at him “Jason if my sister trusts you then I trust you Leila always goes with her gut feeling which makes her a good doctor and a great sister trust her on this one I think you will be a great fit.” Jason seems to take everything he says in then nods “ok I will do it” I grin “perfect now let's finish these plans.”

The plans started to fall into place, we would give a ceremony on the next full moon in 1 week and the next day we all will head back home where I will then move back to my apartment in Jade City and start the next chapter in my life. I would still go to packgrounds to train as I will need that to also help me keep my mind off Blake. I mindlink an omega to gather everyone in the pack so I can tell them what's going on. That afternoon after our meeting we head out to the training grounds where everyone stands around, there is a soft hum as everyone whispers wondering what is going on. I stepped up to the podium that was on a raised platform just so everyone could see me. "Hello, I want to thank everyone for coming out today on such short notice but I have a few announcements concerning the pack that need to he addressed." I look around at everyone as they all still. "First the past month I have been your alpha, has been a joy. I have enjoyed getting to know each and everyone one of you and want to thank you for accepting me as your alpha. " I smile, everyone cheers, I hold my hand up and they quiet down. "But I am afraid I can no longer hold that position any longer." Everyone whispers to themselves I sigh. "With much thought and counseling with my brother alpha Xander I feel it is best that I let him absorb this pack into Blue Moon making Xander your new alpha" everyone gasps as an elder walks up pushing past the crowd. "With all due respect alpha but you did not bring this up with the elders and we will not allow this to happen this pack is just fine in its own." He says a bit rudely. I look at Xander who nods at me. I take a deep breath. "I understand elder Johnson but I don't need to take up anything with you guys as I am the alpha and I am doing what is best for this pack. My brother will help this pack thrive better then I ever will and now that my mate is gone due to a family emergency I won't be able to focus on the tasks an alpha needs to stay focused on so it is in the best interest that he takes this pack over." I say looking away from him and at everyone else. "Please state your questions and concerns now and I will address them" I say, ushering them to ask the questions I see is on their minds, a man raises his hand. "Alpha who will be here to watch over us when you leave?" He asks I nod and smile "good questions I have elected my real brother Jason to watch over the pack when I leave." "As many of you know he was to take over as alpha before I was and I believe he will make a great leader amongst you and he already is a great warrior so I have no doubts in him protecting you" I say smiling at my brother who nods at me with a small smile. I can see the relief rolling off everyone but of course there is always the one bad apple in the bunch, “so you are just going to leave us like that proves you are unfit to be alpha” someone says. I turn and see a man standing in the back. He looks older but not older. I glare at him deep growls behind me coming from Xander and the others I hold my hand up to them shaking my head. I look at the man who said it "what's your name?" I ask he scoffs "Alexander" he says with a bit of an attitude. "Well Alexander let me tell you this I am very capable of running this pack I grew up with 2 amazing alphas and was trained like an alpha it's not the fact I can't run this pack it's that I don't want to run this pack especially without my mate an alpha without his mate around as you should know makes the pack weak and all I will do is make this pack weak" I look around at everyone "I don't want to see this pack fail so leaving this pack to alpha Xander is the best thing for this pack and Jason will help you out as he is highly skilled now we will do the merge tonight then we will have a pack run which everyone who is able to shift is required to come to and join in the run after that we will have food then myself along with everyone behind me will leave in the morning where we will head back to California leaving Jason as ur captain is that understood?" I boom out everyone nods then in unison says "yes alpha" I nod "dismissed" everyone walks away and I sigh pinching the bridge of my nose.

Xander and I head back to the office to get things ready for the merge ceremony and the pack run and soon it was time. We decided to do the merge in my office nothing big because I didn't want to do it in front of everyone so once it was done we had Alaia make the announcement of the new members of our pack then we all head out and shift into our wolves. I was glad to let Serena out she hadn't been out in a while so letting her run through the forest with the others was good for her and I could feel the bond building with everyone. After the run we all shift then have a huge bonfire with hotdogs and smores everyone was talking and laughing more then before I sit by the fire staring into it just ready to get home. I played with Blanke's rung before I feel someone sitting beside me. Turning my head I see Matt I smile and lean my head on his shoulder, "I miss him" u whisper he chuckles and nods "I know when Taylor went on her girls trip last year with you guys I thought I was going to lose my mind without her I can't imagine what you ate going through." I sit up and sigh, "It's not easy but once I start my residency I should be able to stay distracted enough to keep my mind off of him besides he said just a month so it will go by quickly" he nods smiling soon the others sit around us we laugh and talk before heading to bed. That night I dreamt of Blake and our future together.

Two months have passed since we got back home, I moved back into my apartment in Jade city but I am always back at the packhouse to keep up woth training and to visit all my kiddos. Blake hadn't been answering any if my texts or calls. It has begunnto worry my but Serena assured me he was still alive or I would know and everything would he ok. Residency was going great the 3 other residents with me, Luther, Rebekah and Simon were all amazing we learned from each other and even bounced ideas off each other. Our head doctor Doc. Johnson was a great man he's been a doctor for 20+ years and taught us great things. I had finally gotten a day off so I spent the night at the packhouse and joined training in the morning walking up I smiled at everyone "good morning gentlemen ready to get ur a*ses kicked" I said mainly looking at Xander he laughs shaking his head, "your confidence is above you sis I believe I will be doing the a*s kicking" I laugh shaking my head before Henry started us out with a 10 mile run. After the run we all paired off amd started training I paired with Xander and was enjoying kicking him off his feet. "Come on old man let's go" I laughed bouncing on my toes as he got up but stopped and sniffed the air before he could say anything "Blake" I whisper then look at Xander before taking off to the border. I hear Xander yelling behind me as him Kade and Matt followed behind but I didn't care I wanted to see my mate. I slid to a stop when I reached the border 3 of our patrols in their wolf forms were growling as I see 4 people standing there a tall man that looked like Blake but older and a bit more Grey in his hair next to him a woman, she was shorter and so beautiful her beauty was almost…..compelling. Behind them both was Blake I smiled seeing his face again but he didn't seem to care as he looked at me with a stone faced look. I looked beside him and there was a woman blonde with green eyes she was being his hand I growl as I see them but Xander puts his hand on my shoulder shaking his head he walks closer. "Hello I am alpha Xander Black of the Blue Moon pack." The man walks closer extending his hand "I am Lord Francis of the Blood coven and this is my wife Isabella and this is princess Lauren and of course you know my son Blake" Xander nods "yes he just my sister's mate" he motions to me I walk up beside him "Hello I'm Leila Black" I say to the man and woman they eye me up and down "no title?" The woman asks I shake my head "no ma'am not unless you consider Doctor a title I hold no rank in this pack as I would like to keep it" She scoffs then looks at her husband. "Alpha we have come to to you today as my son was promised to princess Lauren as an infant and we need tour sister to reject her claim on him so that pur son would marry her" I laugh "you f*cken nuts if you think im rejecting him!" I growl angrily Xander glares at me causing me to look down he clears his throat "please let's take this inside" he nods to the wolves who escort us to the pack house.
