Chapter 9:

It has been 2 months since the Alpha ceremony and I am learning that being an alpha is hard. I am constantly video chatting Xander asking for advice as this pack was difficult in getting him to listen, plus with my birth father still around he makes it even more difficult. I am chatting with Xander one day after having a heated argument with my father over some changes I wanted to make to the grounds and the way things were done. I grab my hair in my hands and sigh “Xander I swear this man makes my life so difficult I can’t get anything done” I hear him laugh “now you see what I have to go through with you, Kade, and Matt being around” I roll my eyes and smile “oh shut up” I sit back and sigh “Xander I don’t want this I never wanted to be an alpha and now I know I wasn’t meant for this position I want you to take the pack into Blue Moon please I wanna come home” he sits back looking at me “sis I will not make this decision for you as this is your pack do what you think is best if you want me to take the pack I will but only if you want it” he says softly he was always being so stubborn I shake my head and smile softly “you always have to be the good big brother don’t you?” he chuckles “of course” I nod and look at him “ok how about next month we will have a ceremony and you absorb the pack into Blue Moon and I can finally come home” he nods “sounds good I am free on the 6th” I look down at my calendar “perfect so am I, so it is decided you will absorb the pack on the 6th” he nods and smiles “I will see you then sis call me if you need me again” I smile “bye Xander give everyone my love” he chuckles as he hangs up I sit back and let out a heavy sigh before my door is thrown open.

I sit up quickly to see my father standing there seething “you are doing what with the pack?” he growls I cross my arms sitting back “were you eavesdropping on my conversation? You know the elders won’t approve of that as I am alpha now” he walks in rolling his eyes “oh don’t start with me little girl” I growl “watch your tone Roman you may be my birth father but I am your alpha and you will continue to treat me as such or I will have you banished understand” I growl his wolf whimpers causing him to back away like a coward “y….yes alpha” he grits between his teeth I sit “good now leave” I growl and he leaves closing the door I sigh hanging my head. I retire to my room but when I walk in the whole room is covered in flower petals and there are candles the lights are dimmed and there I see my mate standing beside the bed “oh Blake” I smile walking over to him “did you do all this?” he nods smiling “I wanted to treat my queen” he whispers kissing my neck softly I let out a soft moan “Blake my love I appreciate this but I just want a nice bath and relax a little please” I whisper he scoops me up “I knew you would say that little wolf” he kisses my nose and takes me to the bathroom where he has a bath drawn with my favorite Lavender and Vanilla bubble bath with candles lit I smile shaking my head” you’re amazing” I kiss him softly as we both strip and sit in the bath I cuddle into him feeling my body relax.

After the bath we had some very intense s*x before I am lulled off to sleep by his embrace. As soon as I felt myself drift into a deep sleep I was awaken by a mindlink from a pack member “Alpha…...Alpha” I hear the man say almost out of breath I groan “this better be important” I say back “Alpha there is a group of rouges at the border we are trying our best to fight them off but…..we lost a few members” he says frantic I sit up and sigh  “I am on my way” I feel Blake stir and pull me back down I laugh softly and kiss his nose “I need to go my love there are some rogues attacking the pack at the border I have to check it out” I whisper he groans and holds onto me I smile shaking my head “Blake let go” I say sternly but sweet he looks at me through half opened eyes “ok...ok fine” he kisses me “be careful little wolf” he whispers. I run out and shift heading to the border.

The stench of the rogues got stronger the closer to the border I got making me want to gag. As I came to the border I saw my warriors trying to fight them off so I growl and join in on the fight wondering where they came from and why attack us. After a while we got most of the rogues taken care of and we had shifted back and changed. I looked around “who was on patrol tonight?” I growl at them, they all cower  not saying a word I look around “ANSWER ME!” “we…..we were Alpha” a man says if I remember correctly his name was Ralph and him and the other man Kyle were on patrol duty tonight I walk over “how the h*ll did they get past?” “I…..I don’t know alpha they had slipped right past us we are so sorry” Kyle says not looking at me my alpha tone being very dominant I have to take a deep breath to cool myself down before I say something stupid “ok we are going to be doubling the watch then Sam take the last rogue to the dungeons you two are to g back and rest meanwhile I have have patrols come and take over your positions then in the meeting we are all having a meeting about border patrol got it?” I ask and they all nod “yes alpha” they say in unison I nod and walk away pulling my phone out I call Xander “pick up” I mumble clearly frustrated.

“This better be important Leila it’s 4 am” Xander says frustrated and half asleep “yeah it is a group of rogues just attacked my men getting past the patrols can you send Tyson over in the morning to work on upping out border security” he sighs “this couldn’t wait till later?” “no Xander it can’t just send him over in the morning” I growl he growls back “excuse me?” he says I sigh “I’m sorry Xan I didn’t mean to snap at you I am just annoyed at everything” he sits there “mhm I will be over in the morning with Tyson get some sleep Leila” he hangs up I sigh and sit at the fountain rubbing my temples.

I must have fallen asleep because I woke up in my bed beside Blake in the morning and I looked at him “Blake?” I whisper he sits up and grabs my hand holding it close and kissing it “hey little wolf you fell asleep outside so I brought you to bed” he whispers I smile softly “I love you so much” I kiss his cheek he smiles “I love you too little wolf” he kisses my forehead. I get up and shower then change before I get linked that Xander and Tyson were here I sigh and have them sent to my office. I take a deep breath before entering my office they are both sitting at the desk talking quietly I walk in and sit behind my desk, “thanks for coming at such short notice” I look at them Xander crosses his arms I look at him “please don’t be mad at me I was tired and angry I didn’t mean to snap at you Xander” “Leila as an alpha you need to learn to control your temper sometimes I get you were frustrated but you can’t let your anger get the best of you ok?” I nod and sigh “I know Xander” I look over at Tyson “I asked you here asking if you could up the security for the borders we can’t have another rogue attack happen and since I don’t have a lot of men to patrol the border I will need eyes where there can’t be eyes watching everything” he nods “of course I can get started right away should be done by tomorrow since your pack is smaller getting people programmed into it shouldn’t be too hard,” I smile slightly “I will have an omega get you two rooms set up for the night” I say then I start  linking some omegas to start fixing up two rooms.

I show Tyson around the pack grounds and introduce him to everyone where he talks to them about getting them put into the system for security. I leave him alone to work and go find Xander talking to some elders, “excuse men gentlemen may I borrow him?” I smile, they nod and he walks away. I hold his arm, staying quiet as we walk “what’s on your mind sis?” he asks softly I stop and look down “I…..” I shake my head and he lifts my chin to look at him tears brim my eyes “I can’t do this Xander I…..I just want to run away forever I don’t want to do this anymore I don’t know how you do this being an alpha” I wipe my eyes as he pulls me into his chest for a hug I wrap my arms around his waist and try to blink back tears “honestly the first couple years as alpha if you remember were kind of tough for me” he says as we sit I laugh softly and nod “I remember I thought the pack was going to run away screaming” he laughs I smile and look at him “it takes a strong person to be an alpha sis….not that I am saying you aren’t strong I believe if you worked at it  you would be a kick a*s alpha  your strong and a wonderful leader but if you don’t want this then don’t push yourself we can change the pack absorption to tomorrow I can have some of the pack from the main campus come down I can even have Alaia come down to be here if you are ready to come back home” I look at him and think. I nod “yes please I can’t anymore I am scared of it ruining my relationship with Blake I just wanna go home focus on my mate and my job coming up and not worry about taking care of a pack” he nods and kisses my head “let me go make some calls” he stands walking away.
