Chapter 6:

Walking up to the border of the grounds I got a little nervous why would these people want to speak to me I mean…..what did they want with me I don’t even know them.We approached the border and I stop dead in my tracks as I come eye to eye with a woman with the same brown hair as me and she looks like me….well I looked like her was….was she my real mother? Xander looks back at me “sis what’s wrong” he asks via mindlink I look over at him my eyes wide then I walk forward and the group of wolves watching them moves out of the way I look at the man and the woman then the 3 kids who all look older than me behind them. “Who…..who are you and why have you come asking for me?” I ask the man and woman they look at me their eyes widen the woman steps forward but the wolves growl I look at her “I wouldn’t do that unless you know what is good for you ma’am” she looks down then at her husband he looks at Xander “may we speak with you both somewhere private Alpha Xander” Xander crosses his arms then nods “we can speak in the Packhouse my warriors will escort you there” I walk back over to Blake and take his hand as we all walk back to the Packhouse.

We make it back to the Packhouse and Xander has us go into a conference room and we all sit and the man looks at Blake “would you mind giving us some privacy?” I look at Blake and nod “I will be ok love” I whisper he nods and kisses my forehead “come find me when you are done little wolf” he says and stands glaring at the man before walking out Xander looks at them, “so what is it you are wanting of my sister?” he crosses his arms keeping his tone professional the Alpha of the death moon pack looks at me then at him “well alpha Xander we are here to take her back home with us” I let out a small gasp everyone looks at me my heart pounds in my ears and for a minute it seemed like the room was spinning I close my eyes and calm my breathing. I look at the alpha “s....so you are saying you're my real parents? I mean the people who gave birth to me then gave me up leaving me on the steps of an orphanage with nothing more than a letter saying “please take care of our Leila?!” I say getting angry he sighs “yes and we can explain everything, Leila if you give us a chance I shake my head. “I am sorry I don’t want to hear anything. It's been 23 years and you never bothered to come see me at all and now all of a sudden you want me to pack up my bags and leave my family? Absolutely not I am sorry but this is my pack Xander is my brother and Katherine and Xavier are my parents nothing will change that'' my “mother” sighs “darling we are so sorry but we had to you were in danger with our pack you weren’t meant to be born and were told if we had another child they would be the strongest amongst everyone and that you would be a danger” I look at her “I don’t follow what you are saying” my father sighs “it was prophesied to us that if we had another child and it came out a girl she would be the strongest shewolf of the pack stronger than the average alpha and she would have abilities beyond imagination and that you were a danger to our pack so we had to make sure you were taken to a pack that would help you control your strength we contacted Katherine and Xavier to get you from the orphanage and raise you as their own we knew this pack would be able to help control your strength as our pack is but a small pack no more than 300” I sit back in shock my hands shake Serena keeps telling me to stay calm and think rationally I take a deep breath and nod “I understand why you did it but I will not change my mind this is my home and I won’t be leaving it I am sorry I have a family here and I finally found my mate I think it is time you leave” I say as I stand and walk out I go out back and shift then run away from the Packhouse. Serena runs far not stopping till we hit a clearing far from pack grounds she breathes heavy and I shift back. I fall to my knees and cry, after 23 years now my family finally decides to show up just when I was starting to be happy.

While sitting there crying and Serena trying to calm me down I feel a presence behind me and a blanket is wrapped around me I turn and see Xander behind me I look at him tears running down my cheeks he sits beside me he is in basketball shorts and a t-shirt, he pulls me to him and hoods me close not saying anything for a while. “Why now?” I whisper he sighs “I don’t know but just know whatever choice you make just make sure it is what you want and not to make someone else happy make sure it is what you want to be happy” he says softly holding me close I nod “I don’t wanna leave you are my family Xander but…….” I sigh he nods “I know they are your parents you have so many questions and want to know more” I nod and look at him “thanks for coming” I whisper he smiles and kisses my forehead “of course you may be adopted but your my little sister and I love you Leila and I will always be here and protect you” I smile and hug his chest we stay sitting there just talking before we shift and head back to the house.

As we get back to the house I see my birth parents talking to Katherine and Xavier. Xander hands me some sweats and a t-shirt and I walk inside and over to them “umm...can I speak with you please” I ask looking at my birth parents they nod and we go outside and sit by the pool. At first an awkward silence falls upon us before I break it, “I just wanna know where have you been all my life if you knew where I was why didn’t you at least come and see me every now and then?” My mother sighs “we wanted to many times but we saw how happy you were and we didn’t want to ruin your happiness it was clear at how closer you were with the blacks when you called Katherine mom and Xander your big brother and that was when we knew you were happy with the Blacks” she says not looking at me as my father holds her hand I sigh “so why now why are you all of a sudden wanting me to come back and live with you?” they look at each other and for a moment it is silent nothing but the sound of nature around us before my father looks at me “we were hoping you would come back and take over the pack and help us grow stronger.” I look at them as if in horror, “w...what no I...I am not a leader and I am the youngest from what I saw I have older siblings the title of an alpha goes to the eldest male” I say knowing how a pack works obviously I was related to a family full of Alphas. My father sighs “yes you have older siblings your brothers Jason and Isaac and sister Maria but they are willing to step down and let you take over the pack but you will need to reject your mate and marry the man we have chosen for you to help you lead the pack as they won’t follow a vampire as their alpha you will need to marry a wolf” I clench my jaw and stand “f*ck no I will not reject Blake I waited my whole life for him and no way will I marry a man I don’t know and isn’t my mate I knew you coming back into my life was no good now get out of my house before I rip you to pieces” My father stands and growls “I may be your father but you can’t threaten an alpha like that little girl” I growl back and walk closer “try my you come in and tell me that I have to reject my mate to lead your tiny pack when I have a family and a mate makes you stupid and blind in thinking I would just pack things up and go now leave” I say and turn away I look at my siblings as they stand in the doorway all sad to not have me back I look at them “I am sorry but this life is not what I want Blue Moon is my family always have and always will be I wish we met on better circumstances but now it’s time you leave” I start to walk and my father yells “then I will challenge you” I stop the color draining from my face “w...what? I turn looking at him he smirks “I’ll challenge you if I win you give up your claim on your mate and come home as our new Luna and if you win we will leave and you will never hear or see us again” he walks over holding his hand out I clench my jaw “well you said it yourself that I was stronger than the average alpha so why challenge me when you know I’m gonna win” he laughs “oh from where I am standing it looks like you aren’t as strong as everyone said you will be I am sure your wolf is as puny as an omega” I growl “don’t underestimate my wolf” I grab his hand and shake it “name the time and place” and with that I was now challenging the Alpha of the Death Moon pack.
