We were being led by Marcus to Hank's Warehouse deep in Moscow, it was undeniably cold with snow everywhere that it reminded me of a cold wasteland.
Marcus filled us in, this location used to be their undercover place for hiding the imports coming from other countries, he kept tabs on it regardless that he was dead to everyone. He knew it would one day come in handy.
"Have you also kept tabs on Cassandra?" I looked at him and he nodded, after his "death" he laid low and went everywhere and anywhere. Recently he got in contact with Antoinette and when he says recently, that was a few months back.
Maybe that was the reason why she was out of sorts when I came to her house, the man whom everyone thought was dead was actually very much alive.
"Why are you even in this web of the Russell's?" Marcus looked at me and I chuckled.
"It all started with how I wanted this girl, I gave her the power to take her vengeance against the people who did her wrong. We got so deep, it was bound to end this way but I never expected it. Say it was like just a thought that turned to a reality." He looked deep in my eyes and nodded in understanding.
"Figured out that much." He replied and we stopped in the middle of nowhere but it had a clear view of a house or.. more like a cabin in the woods.
"What is this?!" I growled out in anger and he glared at me, placing a finger against his lips as if to tell me to shut up which I only glared at.
"This is the Moscow "Warehouse" it doesn't look like much but its bigger below." He spoke and we looked around the area, it just looked like an abandoned cabin and wait.. Did he say below?
My men along with Luc's were spilling out of the armored cars and stealthily blended with the thick forest. Next I knew shots were being fired and the door of the cabin opened with a woman who looked familiar, my eyes were wide with shock.
Victoria "Tori" Gibbs piled back in the cabin looking around with a pistol in her hand, she was always good with guns. The sharp look she had while she studied her surroundings and took position.
My ex-fianceé.
My phone vibrated against my pant suit and I thought less of looking at the caller ID when I was looking at the ghost of my past, thinking I was just in a dream.
"Hello.." I whispered and I heard gunshots at the background.
"Logan! Are you seeing this?! Am I tripping or is that Tori?!" Luc whisper yelled, so I wasn't dreaming. She was really there.
" I see her.." I whispered and I turned to look at Marcus who was frowning.
"This is bad." Luc mumbled and I shook my head, something wasn't right here.
"I don't trust you Marcus but I know I have to because your daughter is also in this mess. Now since you are so familiar with Hank.. Tell me how the fück is Victoria Gibbs here?!" I glared at him and he didn't look at me but he knew who was I talking about since his eyes kept following her movements.
"I do not know who is that woman. She is just a new face to me but obviously you know her.. So spill it Sabella." He looked at me and this time I was surprised of his actions.
"She's no one.." I hissed and turned my back on the scene. She was alive.. I was sure she was dead, I glared at nothing in particular. The fury in me bubbling.I hear a pop come and I turned to see a bright red flare lit up in the sky. That means control was back in my hands.
Luc's men spilled out of the forest and Marcus and I got closer to the cabin. There were a lot of corpses, there are those who still lived but were tied and one of them was Victoria who was glaring at the ground but snapped her head up to look at me when my leather dress shoes crunched on the ground.
"Y..you!" She hissed and the emotion in her eyes were pure, those mercury like irises were looking at me with hatred and fear.
"Victoria." Her name rolled off my tongue like venom.
"They said you were dead!" She spat and I chuckled darkly.
"That was said about you as well." She paled and looked around.
"You know, recently in my life the dead tend to have a knack of turning up alive. Its annoying and very frustrating." I sighed and ran a hand over my hair.
"Like you. But this time, I'll make sure it stays that way for you." I turned to her with a Colt Python at hand, emptying the chambers I loaded just 1 and shut it close.
"Since we are in Russia. Let us play a little game of Russian Roulette. I'm sure this is a common game for you Victoria." She looked up at me in horror. Sweat forming and dripping down her face.
"I want you to give me some answers Vic and I am sure that you know them. I after all.. Knew you." I aimed the barrel against her forehead right in the middle. She looked up at it with tear streaked eyes, her body shaking in fear.
"L..Leandro.. Please don't do this." She started sobbing and I glared at her making her try to silence her sobs.
"Okay, question number one.. Where is my wife?!" I raised my voice making her mewl in fear and shake her head repetitively as if fighting what to do.
"I can't.. She.. Please don't do this Leandro. He will kill him.." She sobbed and I raised a brow.
"I don't care... What I want to know is where is my wife Tori! There are 6 chambers in this cylinder and one of them has a bullet. So either you tell me the answer to my question now or you might die and believe me sooner or later you will." I growled out and she looked at me wide eyed, she looked around to find both her men and her are outnumbered.
I pulled the trigger and everyone jumped in anticipation and she looked like her heart busted out of her rib cage with the surprised scream she let out. No bullet came out.
"Basement." Was all she said while she sobbed and breathed heavily. Marcus immediately ran in the cabin with a few of Luc's men flanking behind him.
"Great, next question. Why?" Tears shed from her eyes and she cried hard. She knew what I was referring to.
"I had to Leandro! He had my family and my son!" She screamed and I frowned.
"What are you talking about? You betrayed me all those years ago because of that!! You could've told me and I would've helped you!!!" I pressed the trigger again and this time out of anger, no bullet came out but she paled. The fear in her eyes were as pure as it came and I relished on that fear she had for me.
"I..I-I'm sorry.." She cried and I glared at her hard. Those beautiful ember eyes of hers looked at me with pain, sadness and regret.
"You apologize as if you mean it. Every word must be meant, it is not to be said just to get away or gain from something. Every time we meet Tori, I always find you against me. Those years back and now this." I paced back and fro, eyeing the woman I once loved.
"Its over now Victoria. As heartless as I may be, I cannot deny that we had a past so I will leave you a reminder of what its like to go against me and betray me." I pulled the trigger once more and this time a bullet did get fired and it lodged on her shoulder making her howl in pain.
"I do not wish to ever see you again and be warned that I will know if you are near." I whispered foreboding. She was carried away and the others were disposed on sight.
I went in the cabin and saw a secret passage that led down to a couple of stairs but I couldn't make out on how deep it went. While I made my way down, I thought of everything that happened in my life. From my dark past, to the fiancee who broke my heart with her betrayal and to now the life I had which was once peaceful, the marriage I had to my beautiful wife whom I love dearly and to how I had to come back to my roots and hunt down a man who was hell bent in meeting his maker.
As I reached the end, I walked around as if I knew the place but I didn't. I went to the place where most of the men rounded at and I heard a commotion.
"Who are you?!" That familiar voice screamed making me run towards it.
She's alive.
Relief flooded through me when I heard her voice and I stepped in and through the crowd who watched her.
She who sat on the floor, wearing a white dress, her eyes looking around afraid until her eyes landed on mine, the familiarity clicked in those beautiful golden-hazel orbs.
"You.." She whispered and I frowned, that was not what I expected.
"I know you! You were... Were.." She frowned and next I knew she was curling on the floor with her hands holding her head as she screamed in pain. Marcus was on the floor next to her, holding his daughter in his arms while she cried in pain and soon the horrific sounds were drowned by the silence.
I couldn't move from where I stood, I was paralyzed and all I can do was look and that was what I did as she passed out on her fathers arms and my heart broke. She doesn't remember me...
What did they do to her?! I studied her and I saw the bandage on her head, the healing bruises, the color lacking on her skin.
What did they do to her..
My phone vibrated and I looked at the message..
I hope you liked my present. Death would be too easy but living knowing she will never remember you is the worse pain you or anyone can ever live through.
