Chapter Four

I sat in front of the mirror in the guest room, i had spent the night in the guest room. a night full of horror, the sun was blazing through the open widow as i sat and stared at myself, my brown caramel skin shone under the sun light as i watch myself my thoughts elsewhere, my life had moved from good to bad in a span of months how could a loving and kind man become this heartless and cold a man told me loved me. two years of spending our time loving each other and being together had just washed away as if it never happened. it was as if he was not the same man from before , i mean what could i have possible done for him to treat me this way, of all the years we spent together i thought i had found my self a better man but it was all a lie. as i thought about Nathan a familiar face crossed my mind Jade, Jayden Luke he so much better the past couple of months compared to my husband, months that has been hell for me he was there for me , he sat with me as i cried, smiled and laughed. he protected even though i was only a friend to him. i was brought out of thoughts when i heard a knock on the door'' come in '', i called out to the person on the other side. the door opened revealing Nathan, i starred up at him wondering what was going to happen now that i know he was serious about his words last night, he hadn't bothered to check up n me after leaving me with that to deal with, and here he stood as if he had not just destroyed our marriage with just his words. words that haunted my ''dreams all night till i saw the first streak of sun.''Audeia'', he voice sounded so natural as if there was nothing amiss how hadn't i have noticed this person, this hidden character of his from the beginning. how could i let my self be dragged so low that even self pity had standard . looking at him right now if anger and hatred for him the little love that i had was gone and all that remained was pain anger and hatred,'' the divorce papers are ready and i need you to sign them'', i froze at his words, my hardened eyes looked up at him from shock, how is this possible it was only yesterday he had the time to tell about the divorce and now i had to sign them today. i was shaken from anger and fear, fear of losing my home everything i worked for to build is all going away'' who is that woman?'' , i asked him looking him dead in the eye'' there no need for that Audeia , just sign the papers and lets be done with this''.

'' be done with what? be done with what exactly? what?'' i screamed at him as i got out of the chair and walked to him.'' you don't tell me anything, no explanation you just waltz in here with another woman and a child asking for a divorce.'' i waited for him to say something but nothing come out of his mouth,'' i need you to explain to me what is going on before you think of asking me to sign to damned papers Nathan''. i told him with out batting an eye. '' i need answers to my questions and Nathan you are going to give them to me''. i single tear rolled down my face as i spoked to him my voice firm and commanding, his eyes softened as he starred at me. i stood my ground waiting for an explanation,'' that woman you see there is the mother of my child, the one i have fallen in love with she is the second wife, the one my family chose for me'' he turned away from me,'' I'm doing this for you and i Audeia. we can't continue in this marriage. it is for the best for your own good and that of the child. think about i him and just sign the papers''. so he had an affair, he cheated on me and here he stood trying to be the righteous one.'' fine i will sign the papers but before then i need you to sign 50% the property to me, after all I'm only taken what is rightfully mine''. the light from his face had drained as he looked at with shock his mouth left agape, i grinned at him,'' until then I am not sign those papers''. i heard a roll up on the drive way then minutes later came Jade's voice,'' AUDEIA'', his voice was melody to my ears at the moment because the look in Nathan's eyes was nothing i could comprehend. i walked way with a smirk on my face i have never felt happier.
