Betrayed

Chapter Two

Nathan i don't understand what you mean by second wife'' i screamed at him after hearing the words that spilled out of his mouth.

''i mean I'm getting married to another woman'', he said casually staring at me with a cold gaze,'' i don't understand'', i exclaimed shaking my head the tears streamed down my face, my heart thumping in my chest ,my breathing unstable as i look at the ground. He was unfazed about the matter and did not seem bothered about it, he looked at me casually, talked to me casually. everything about him was unfazed and i was here right before him broken about it all our marriage was about to be discarded as if was nothing to begin with,'' Why? ''I asked him looking up at him, he glanced at me side ways and answered,'' for the sake of my family''.my thoughts were jumbled up i couldn't think straight, his words were not making any sense to me. he turned to me directly,'' she is the .......''

i was awaken by the sound of my alarm, i opened my eyes slow to sun light shining bright through the opened window curtains i stared at the window recalling the dream i had, its been the nightmare that haunted my nights ever since that day. its only been months but it feels like years ago, i got out of bed and got ready for the day since Nathan had already left without waking me up i had slept into the day.

''good morning Mrs. Loids'', the maids greeted me as i walking into the dinning room for breakfast''. its been months since i had a proper breakfast or dinner with my husband as husband and wife. these days he never wants to see me or even talk to me, he waits for hours at night just so i fall fast asleep and he can have the opportunity to call her.

HER, the woman that just walked into our lives turning everything upside down.

''Mrs. loids, um.. miss''. a young girl probably in her teen in a maids uniform tap me on the shoulder,'' i apologize for the interruption but there is a gentleman here to see you ma'am'', she said pointing towards the door, '' i wanted to know if i should let him in'', she asked. she must be new here since all the workers here already knew who to let and not to and if she was here to ask me then she was probably new in service, i smiled at her and nodded,'' yes, do let him in and serve him some please.'' i said to her then she turned and walked away. young and beautiful. it was nice to see a new face around the usual ones. the door opened and Jade in walked with a bouquet of flowers, he had a wide smile on his face that was contagious making me smile up at him,'' What brings you here this morning sir?'', i asked him. he stared at me with his beautiful blue eyes,'' came by to drop this off for you'', he said handing me the bouquet. i brought the bundle of red roses to my nose taken a sniff of them,'' thank you, they are beautiful''.

''not beautiful as you''. he said winking at me, i shoved him playfully. i offered something to eat but he refused saying he had a busy morning and so he had to leave. i watched as he walked out the door closing it shut behind him. i handed the roses to the girl and asked that it be placed in my room.

after having my breakfast walked to the bedroom since i had nothing to do and no where to go i sat on the king sized bed starring at the walls that kept me locked in and held so many memories that i didn't want to remember. i closed my eyes taking a deep breath before falling back on the bed.
