What Happened Before

Lots of bear banging.

That’s the short version.

The long one: Isla and her four bear shifter men are living on an island after Bertrand and Arnold, an older bear couple, invited them to stay. Just when they’ve made themselves at home, a mysterious girl called Airlea appears and asks them for help. She leads them to the Fates, the three deities who spin, weave and cut the threads of destiny.

The Fates ask them (aka force them) to deal with a group of feral bear shifters led by an evil human who’s merged with the bear soul of Arcas, Alis’s son. The Fates will only allow bear shifters to have cubs again if Isla and her men deal with the ferals.

After travelling to Canada and battling the feral bears, Alis has to make the worst decision ever: either kill Isla or her son. Arcas has gone crazy and wants to wipe out humanity so in the end, Alis kills him. The Fates restore the shifters’ ability to have children and of course, Isla gets pregnant immediately. What a surprise.
