Amelia sighs as her alarm clock goes off. She has to go to school and deal with more people.
"Time for school. Get up." Her fathers' voice boomed through the house. It was so loud Amelia believed that the neighbors heard it and woke up in response. Amelia sits up as her father opens her bedroom door.
"Knock much?" Amelia cuts her eyes at him.
"This is my house. I do whatever I please and after your stunt at dinner, you best watch your mouth." He glares at her. Amelia's blood runs cold. Her mother appears behind her and smiles. She doesn't notice the tension. She hasn't since her father came home. Her phone vibrates dragging her father's attention to her nightstand. Amelia ignores the look he gives her and she checks her phone.
"AMELIA, CATERINA TOLD ME YOU NEEDED A RIDE TO SCHOOL. HURRY UP!" Ben sent the text like ten minutes ago.
"Okay? Give me fifteen minutes I'll be down there."
Looking back to her father she c***s her head to the side, "I need to get ready for school. My ride showed up earlier than I thought. So please shut my door and don't let it hit you in the process." The door shuts and Amelia grins hurriedly getting dressed. Throwing on a baby blue lace dress and pulling her hair into a pony tail. She slipped on a pair of white wedges. Grabbing her bag she heads out her room and hears Benjamin talking to her father. Her blood starts boiling.
"Hey, I'm ready sorry for making you wait so long." Amelia grabs his hand and starts pulling him to the door.
"What's the rush Amelia?" Her father asks patronizing her.
"He's been waiting long enough father." Amelia spits out. She glares at him daring him to tell her to wait. She didn't need Benjamin to ask questions about her father and why they couldn't get along.
"Yeah. We do need to go. Thank you for offering breakfast Mr. Dawson. I'm sure it would have been delicious." Benjamin said following Amelia out of the house.
Her parents stand in the doorway watching Amelia as she gets in the car with Benjamin.
After a few minutes of silent car riding and Benjamin looks over at Amelia.
"Don't even think about it. We just had an argument over the weekend and he is being petty." Amelia looked at Benjamin daring him to try and continue this conversation.
"No. That's not pettiness. Not the way he emphasized your name and how you spit out father. There is a lot more gong on between ya'll two. Either you tell me or I start digging." Amelia rolls her eyes.
"There is more but I'm not telling you. I need to talk to Caterina. Speaking of her why did she tell you to pick me up for school? You do realize this is going cause more issues between my father and I?"
"Why would it cause problems? I'm just a friend."
"You're a guy friend. My father is very strict and in about ten minutes I'll be getting a text from him saying we're going to talk after school today."
"Ami what is wrong with you? Just tell me what the hell is going on with you and your dad."
"NO, Benjamin! I won't because I'm not going to lose someone else also. I need you to realize that I'm not going to tell you everything when you want it. I will probably never tell you. Please let it go." Amelia exclaims in frustration as she gets out of the car. Caterina sees her speed walking away and angry.
Slamming her locker door shut, Amelia turns and sees Caterina. Pointing her finger in accusation," You... you sent him to my house. He picked me up and now I'm going to be in a load of trouble. You know how my father is. You deliberately did this. I can't believe you!" Amelia practically screams. Her phone vibrates at that time. She checks to see who it is.
"You're grounded. Straight home after school. No friends or BOYS."
Amelia smirks.
"See Caterina! This is what happens. You told me it would be good for me to allow someone else in my life and now look." Amelia starts crying. Turning on her heel she ran to the bathroom. She cleans her face up and a few minutes later the tardy bell rings. Wiping her face one more time she runs to her class. She squeezes her way in behind her teacher before the door shuts. Hurriedly she sits down in her seat as the teacher looks around the room taking attendance.
