Chapter - 9 missing her

The next week passes in a blink. Anna didn't see Dilan and he always made him busy in training. But Anna grew more puzzled by his reaction. So, she kept a spy to research on Dilans background and his history.

“maa! Is everything ready?” Anna asked her mother while checking her swords

“yes Anna, don't worry...I have cross checked everything twice. So, just concentrate on your war. I will look after the people in here” Isabella told her making Anna gain her confidence.

“ok maa, did the foods and weapons departured from ardania?” Anna asked her mother with tensed face.

“yes anna, everything is in its place dont worry! I have set some spies for us to inform me about the war” Isabella assured her making her sighing her in relief.

“ok maa, let's start our speech then!” Anna said to her.

Yes, it was Anna's routine to give her soldiers a speech to make them courageous. Everyone gathered in front of the castle. Anna searched for Dilan but she can't find him. So, she started her speech. Soon, she finished her speech and turned to see Dilan staring at her. She was happy that She got to see him. She went happily to him hugged him and smiled at him...

“well As I was training the soldiers I never got time to see you princess” he said making her glare at him

“okay... but, dont tell me that you are still mad at me!” she said with a sigh

“if I am angry then I would not have talked to you!”he said with a sweet smile

“okay.. ain't you taking part in the war?”she asked him teasingly

“no princess, I don't want to take part”he said to her while glaring at her

“but, it will be a great support for me” she said to him

“No, I don't have any interested in war” Dilan said to her for which she annoyed him

“Ok dilan! I will not compel you. I will see you in front of the castle. I need to change”Anna said to with a smile

Anna went to her chamber to change her dress. Soon, she changed into her war attire. She wore a black colour full sleeve top a black bottom and a silver cloak around her waist. she had her her armour on her chest. She came out of her room to see Dilan waiting for her. This made her to smile at him. She went towards him and stood in front of him. She was surprised to see Dilan zoned out.

“dilan!”Anna said in irritation. Saying this she slapped lightly on Dilans arms. By this act of hers brought him out of his world

“princess, you ... you look beautiful” Dilan said still staring at her.

“well thank you Dilan, but you seem zoned out... is something bothering you ?” Anna asked him in a concerned tone.

Dilan smiled sheepishly at her for which she frowned “how will I say that to you when you are the reason for this” Dilan said supressing his laughter.

“ok Dilan, see you after the war” Anna said to him

this sentence caught his attention and he is having a heavy heart because he is going to be away from for some days...

DILAN POV

Its been two days since Anna's departure.“It looks like I can't live without her. I don't even know about the war as only royal members can get the information and to the top I need ask to Isabella. I will never do that. Since, I can't get any information about her I decided to check on her as I know there won't be any war during the evening. As far I know the bloodlake arena is not so far. It is just a few kilometers away where the camps of the soldiers are. I should not get caught to the guards. As far as I know no one can ever catch me” he thought. soon, A devilish smirk spread across his face. Dilan reached the camp and went without making any noise. He reached Anna's camp. As he entered he saw Anna sitting on the chair studying her war techniques. He went behind her and close her eyes with his hands. Much to his surprise she found out that it was him. But How?

ANNA POV

“dilan?”Anna said surprised

“but, how come you find me princess?” Dilan said equally surprised

“ because I am very intelligent” Anna said teasingly.vShe said it while turning to him with her closed eyes. He was quite confused why she closed her eyes. Then it clicked him that she was CURSED. He smiled at her childishness and pulled her cheeks for which she made a bad face. But, both felt peace with each other.

“princess, shall we go out?” Dilan asked her casually like they are in their place

“what are you talking Dilan? We are not in our palace to go out” Anna asked him in a surprised tone

“I know! But you need to refresh your mind “ dilan sounded like Annas teacher

Anna started walking towards Dilan before she slipped by the mattress and fell on Dilan. Both felt sparks in their body. Both were lost in each other while she was lost in his eyes while He was lost in her face. Dilan brought his face near to Anna's face that her breath got hitched in her throat. He kissed her blindfold making her smile then he pecked her cheeks which surprised her to core. He brought his face towards her face but then they heard a voice which brought them out of their world soon, they realised their position he was close to her face, she was completely lying on him which made Anna to jerk and she stood up with a embarassed face and then the voice came closer and they realised it was isabella.

“princess! Its...its Isabella ! don't tell her I'm here”dilan said while panicking.Saying it he went and hid behind a curtain. But Anna was puzzled.

“but why? You dont need to hide. You came here and some would have noticed you so don't worry, maa will not say anything” anna asked him

“no princess, no one knew I'm here, don't tell her please!!! “Dilan looked at her with his puppy face which did its work. She accepted it. Soon, Isabella came and saw a nervous anna who was grinning at her like a fool, this is one of the great drawbacks she cannot lie to her loved ones, if she tried she will be grinning all the time.

“ greetings! Anna” isabella said to anna in a cheerful tone

“gr..greetings! maa, what made you to come here maa?” Anna said while grinning

Isabella got more confused with her question. First of all she is grinning like some kid and now she is asking this question.

“why can't I come here to meet my daughter?” Isabella asked Anna with fake anger

“No maa, I didn't mean that, I meant that you have a lot of work in the palace thats why I asked why you came here” Anna said still grinning

“But why are you grinning anna? What is that you are hiding from me?” Isabella asked eyeing Anna

Meanwhile Dilan was admiring the mother-daughter duo. But he grew anxious when isabella asks her what is she hiding?

Nothing maa! What is there to hide something? Anna said grinning like a stupid

"Then why are grinning like some kid?" Isabella asked suspiciously

Anna cannot help anymore. She grew more nervous as she didn't know what to do. So, she simply hugged isabella and said “nothing”in her. Isabella who was doubting her got emotional. Seeing her with tears in her eyes anna grew sad

“maa, what happened?” said Anna to see a emotional Isabella because she never saw her this emotional.

“Anna, you know what you haven't hugged me or smiled as much as you do now since your father's death! I have promised him that I will take of you and I will keep you happy. But I always regret that I cannot make you happy. After Dilan's arrival you have changed I can see the glimpse of my old Anna” Isabella said while having tears in her eyes

She said with tears welled up in her eyes. Anna got emotional too and hugged her more and then she realised that she has changed because of Dilan. This thought made her smile more. But for Dilan, he was smiling after hearing Isabella that Anna has changed. He was also happy that she is slowly falling for him. After Isabellas departure Dilan came out from his hiding place. Anna pulled him into a bone crushing hug and kissed him on his cheeks making him surprised.

“thank you Dilan for coming into my life. You are the best thing happened to me ever” Anna said to Dilan in between her sobs

"shhh.... princess, don't cry, I'm there with you... I'll as always be" dilan said to her while rubbing her back

Dilan pulled her into another hug. Dilan made Anna to lie on her bed and covered her with the blanket but he was about to move out anna stopped Dilan with her hand. He looked at her to see her with fully emotional. She made him sit on the bed and blurted out”dont leave me” he looked at her and she nodded at him. He occupied his space besides and pulled her in her embrace. Soon, both the souls drifted to sleep with a sweet smile on their face.
