I spent the time I was supposed to use to run errands to think about Damon’s last words even though I knew that it was just foolish to hold on to a compliment.
By the time I was walking back to the hall, I met him in the hallway again, speaking to a guest and as I bowed and attempted to walk away, his gruff voice stopped me.
“Let’s walk together. We are going in the same direction anyways.”
