Anna hummed a happy tune as she was in the train she was excited to go home she looked at her watch in forty minutes she would be home..She looked at the trees and wild horses running .....she loved horses but her mother never allowed her to ride one not even as an hobby she took medicine because of her mom ..she never remembered a moment her mother was sick after the birth of her sister Hermosa her mom has always been sickly .
every now and then Anna was worried her mom would give up, Anna was so deep in thoughts that she didn't realize that the train had arrived she got off pretty excited as soon as she saw her dad she rushed into his embrace ...... finally she was home at last
" my goodness you look so pale and frail.." Alex exclaimed looking at his daughter..
" dad I am fine let's go home i am excited to see mom and Hermosa " Anna said cheerily
Alex gave a weak smile , his heart broke as he looked at him daughter and his chest tightened he didn't know what plans Leo had for his poor daughter.
Leo watched both Alex and his daughter Anna from afar and smirked he was unable to see her face as she wore a sun hat ...well he would see her soon he could wait after all he is patient man .
Anna got home and rushed to hug both her sister and her mom she missed them dearly.. having exchanged pleasantries and catching up with her mom she felt at peace and offered to cook dinner for the evening she took a walk down the old road leading to the market when she bumped into a tall man handsome features with really dark eyes looked as I he was piercing into her soul ..
" I am really sorry....." Anna apologizes in a hurry to leave for his gaze made her feel very uncomfortable..
" you shouldn't be walking alone on this quiet road " he said in a monotone as if bored
Anna turned to him sharply and looked at him as if he would leash out to attack her
as if reading her mind he looked at her squarely in the eye
"there is no joy in harming a lady I am no brute I can walk you down "
Anna looked at him suspiciously but still allowed him walk her
" may I ask your name " she asked quietly as if afraid to speak
"Leo"
"am Anna nice meeting you" she said with a sweet smile.......Leo looked at her ...she looked so pure so soft.....nothing like he imagined.....
"new to town? " he asked
" nahhh I was born here I basically grew up here until I left for the city to study medicine "
Leo looked genuinely surprised here he was thinking she was a simple girl
she is very spirited as it seems ....
as they approached the market Leo proceeded to take his leave
" it was very lovely to meet you Anna I am sure we will meet again " Leo said smiling then pecked her on the cheek before leaving.
Anna looked dazed for a moment before proceeding to buy what she needed she intended to prepare beef stew with mashed potatoes...on getting what she needed she went home and prepared the meal and served ....the whole family sat together enjoying the home made meal Alex looked forlorn with worry as he didn't know how to break the news to the three women he loved dearly ...
" Anna would you love to accompany to work tomorrow" Alex asked
" sure dad have never seen your workplace now would be nice".
Alex gave a weak smile and pecked Anna and his wife on the forehead I need to rest
" we will see by morning " he said walking off
"dad has been weird of late " Hermosa said
"how weird " Anna asked
"don't listen to your sister your father is just tired that is all " her mother said . Anna shrugged her shoulder and proceeded to go to bed with her sister and mom
