5 years later and a new couple has moved into the house. They are in the processes of adopting two children a brother and sister. * * * Sky looks at Luke nervously and says " Are we ready to do this, are we sure they will be a great fit for us. I mean their parents died in a car accident." He looks at her and hugs her in a gentle and loving way. "I know its scary adopting, but we have been trying for years and haven't been able to have a baby. Our last option is adoption, and all of the visits have gone well. Their case worker said we are the only people they have held a meaningful conversation with. We are the only ones who have made a connection with them." He said melting the fear that gripped her. A woman walked out. " Mr. and Mrs. Barclay, he is ready for you." she said motioning for them to follow her. She lead them the children’s case worker. Sky's nerves were through the roof at this moment. She was worried about their house not being approved because it was not safe enough for the little girl. She had child proofed the house to the best of her ability. "Mr. Waters" Luke says looking at the case worker as he and his wife sit down. Mr. Waters was looking through their file. He was pleased with the outcome of the home safety check. The check was random the Barclay’s had no idea what day it would be. They only were given a week span of time and the time they would be there. Sky had been child proofing the house for days. they showed up while she was in the kitchen covering all corners with corner cushion so the little girl wouldn't hurt herself if she ran into the corner of the island counter top. The dinner table corners were already covered. There was a lock on the basement and attic doors and all dangerous objects where out of reach. During the walk through the inspector said she had never seen a house this safe before. Sky was scared when she walked into the kitchen and immediately spoke up. "I'm not done in here. I still have to finish the counter corners and put all the glass containers in the pantry up higher and put some of the kid cereals in plastic storage containers." Her voice cracked do to the fear of failing do to the kitchen not being safe yet. The woman asked to see the pantry and gave Sky a smile when she walked into the large room that was full of food. "The pantry is organized and the baskets are labeled for the children?" She asked confused. "Not just for the children me and my husband first did it when we moved in. We just redid it due to the possibility of the kids moving in. Everything they would need or want is within their reach, like snacks and drinks that are to supposed to be room temperature the fridge is also organized for them." She says to the inspector *** All of this written in the report. Mr. Waters looked up and said "your approved!" Sky almost jumped out of her seat. " So we can take them home?" she asked the most excited she had ever been. Mr. Waters paused. Her heart dropped, Sky grabbed her husbands hand. Mr. Waters continued," You two know that the little girl is exceptional. She is extremely intelligent for a child of 4 years. Her brother is over protective but was the first to open up due to the fact he was not in the car when the accident took place but..." He took a deep breath and continued "...Allie was in the car she witnessed her parents death. this made her scared to connect with people and has weekly therapy appointments due to the accident and the PTSD she suffers from. Tobias knows this and for a 12 year old he is very open with his sister because he knows she understands a lot more than the average 4 year old." The Barclay’s looked at one another. Then back at the man on the other side of the desk. "We are aware of this, and we would love to have them in our home" Luke said
