Two Side of Sienna

1153 Words
Mornings at Blackwood Corporation always began with unrelenting activity. Sienna entered the building with a calm stride, dressed in an elegant formal suit. Thin glasses adorned her face, adding to her undeniable professional demeanor. Here, far from her nightlife, Sienna was a different person—calm, intelligent, and in control. No one knew what she hid behind her serene smile. The day’s work had been waiting for her since morning. Sienna checked Lucas’s schedule, prepared presentation materials, and ensured all document files were neatly organized on his desk. There was no room for error in this job, and Sienna was accustomed to the pressure. She knew Lucas relied on her to keep the company’s workflow running smoothly. At exactly ten in the morning, an important meeting was scheduled with a major client, Mr. Richardson—an old, arrogant man known for being difficult. Sienna had met him several times before and was well aware of his haughty nature. Richardson often belittled those beneath him, especially the office staff. But today, Sienna was ready to face him with her usual professional composure. When Mr. Richardson arrived, Sienna greeted him with a polite smile in the conference room, though the man barely acknowledged her. "Good morning, Mr. Richardson," she said courteously, while Richardson walked in without so much as a glance in her direction. "Where’s Lucas? I don’t have much time," he said sharply, as if Sienna were an insignificant presence in the room. Sienna wasn’t offended. She was used to dealing with clients like him. "Mr. Blackwood will join us shortly. In the meantime, I can walk you through some key points of our proposal, if you don’t mind." Richardson glanced at her briefly, then arrogantly seated himself in a large chair. "Fine, as long as you can explain it quickly." With confidence, Sienna began outlining their business proposal, her voice steady and clear. She answered every question precisely, addressing each concern Richardson threw her way. Despite the man interrupting several times with condescending remarks, Sienna remained unfazed. Her firm responses and ability to explain every detail eventually stopped Richardson from underestimating her. Sienna knew what she was talking about, and even Richardson, reluctantly, had to acknowledge her professionalism. When Lucas finally entered the room, he found that Sienna had already handled most of the discussion smoothly. Richardson appeared calmer, though he still maintained his cold demeanor. "Seems like your secretary understands this business better than I thought," Richardson muttered, his tone softer than usual, though still tinged with sarcasm. Lucas, standing at the door with a small smile on his face, glanced at Sienna. There was pride in his gaze. "Sienna is an invaluable part of this team. I can't imagine this office without her," Lucas replied, his voice firm yet full of praise. Sienna held back her smile, maintaining her professional demeanor, though her heart warmed slightly at the compliment. After the meeting concluded, Richardson left, and Lucas approached her. "You were truly amazing, Sienna. You always handle difficult clients with such calm. I don’t know how you do it, but I’m incredibly proud of you," Lucas said with a sincere look in his eyes. Sienna nodded, smiling slightly, "Just doing my job, Mr. Blackwood." "More than that, Sienna. You do it perfectly every time." Sienna was the central force that kept Blackwood Corporation running smoothly. And Lucas knew that. There was no one he trusted more to handle things than Sienna. *** The day was edging toward late afternoon as Sienna finished her final task, preparing documents for the next day's meeting. The office was starting to empty, but Sienna remained at her desk, ensuring all of Lucas's affairs were in order before she could leave with peace of mind. The quiet atmosphere slowly shifted when the office door opened, and a man, around Lucas’s age, walked in with confident strides. The man exuded class in his appearance—wearing an expensive suit, immaculately styled. But as soon as Sienna looked up, she immediately noticed the arrogance in his eyes. This wasn’t her first encounter with this type of man; someone who felt they had more power than they actually did. Sienna stood politely and gave a small smile, assuming her role as the professional secretary. "Good afternoon, how can I assist you, sir?" Her voice remained calm, though a slight tension hung in the air. The man, who quickly introduced himself as Mr. Donovan, didn’t bother to hide his displeasure. “I’m here to see Lucas. Is he in?” he asked, his eyes scanning Sienna from head to toe, as if she were merely an object standing between him and his goal. Remaining composed, Sienna replied, “I’m sorry, Mr. Blackwood has just left for an external meeting. You can schedule another appointment, or I can take a message for you.” Rather than providing a reasonable response, Donovan slowly approached, a disingenuous smile playing on his lips. “But you’re here, aren’t you? I could wait... or perhaps, you could keep me company in the meantime.” His eyes gleamed with an unmistakable, inappropriate intent, full of flirtation and arrogance. Sienna stood her ground, though a sense of discomfort began to creep in. “I’m sorry, sir, I’m just a secretary. If you’d like to speak with Mr. Blackwood, I’d be happy to schedule that for you,” she replied, maintaining her professionalism and trying to create distance. But Donovan didn’t give up so easily. He stepped even closer, nearly breaching Sienna’s personal space, and reached for her sleeve. “You know, I’ve always liked women who can work smart. You seem like someone who knows how to satisfy... not just in work.” His voice was low now, laced with hidden intentions, and his grip on her arm tightened. Sienna froze for a moment, disgust and anger swirling inside her. But she couldn't afford to show weakness. With a calm yet firm motion, she pulled her arm away from his grasp, meeting his gaze with a sharp look. "I think you’ve misunderstood. If you don’t have any important business with the company, I suggest you leave the office now." Donovan chuckled softly, as if finding her words amusing. "Oh, come on. You don’t need to pretend to be tough here. We could have some fun, and I’ll make sure you’re rewarded well. Lucas doesn’t need to know anything." Heat rose at the back of Sienna’s neck, but she kept her composure. Without giving him another glance, she walked over to her desk, picked up the office phone, and in a firm voice said, "I’ll call security if you don’t leave immediately, Mr. Donovan." Donovan’s expression shifted instantly. He knew he had crossed the line, but there was no sign of remorse in his eyes—only faint disdain and resentment. "You’ll regret turning me down," he muttered before finally turning and leaving the office with heavy steps.
