Who's she?

1052 Words
Lucas awoke from his deep sleep, feeling a peace he hadn't felt in a long time. Faint memories of the previous night began to fill his mind—a conversation with Adrian at the club, the key card handed to him, and the mysterious woman who had joined him in this room. Just as his friend had suggested, his worries seemed to have melted away, leaving behind a calm he hadn't expected. Stretching his body across the bed, he stared at the ceiling with a rare sense of relief. But when he turned to the side, he noticed something. She was gone, leaving only silence and a faint trace of her scent on the pillow beside him. Lucas furrowed his brow, wondering who this masked woman really was. Her presence felt so real and enigmatic—heightening his curiosity. Despite his desire to know more, he couldn't deny the strange feeling lingering within him, as though they'd shared more than just a night free of burdens. He glanced around the room, searching intently, but there was no trace of the woman who had been with him last night. No note, no belongings left behind; even the soft scent of her perfume was beginning to fade, as if the whole thing had been nothing but a fleeting dream. Yet, for some reason, a strange wave crept over his chest, a feeling of unease gnawing at him, as though something had been left unfinished. With a sigh, he tried to brush off the unsettling feeling. Frustrated and intrigued, Lucas picked up his phone and called Adrian. "Adrian, who was that woman?" he asked, his voice low and tinged with urgency. On the other end, Adrian sounded confused. "What woman? I only gave you the key card because the club manager said the room was ready for a VIP guest. I have no idea who the woman was." Lucas fell silent, growing more frustrated. Even Adrian, his closest friend, had no clue about her identity. The less he knew, the more his curiosity grew, as though this mysterious woman had left an invisible mark in the corner of his mind, waiting to be discovered once again. Finally, Lucas left the hotel room, stepping out with brisk, purposeful strides after splashing his face with cold water. The crisp morning air greeted him, yet his mind remained filled with the hazy image of the masked woman from last night. His watch already read seven in the morning—too late if he were to head home first. Without hesitating, Lucas grabbed his phone and dialed Sienna. "Sienna, I’m going straight to the office. Please have a clean set of clothes ready there. I’ll get prepared at the office," he said firmly. On the other end, Sienna responded concisely and professionally as always, "Of course, sir. Everything will be ready when you arrive." After ending the call, Lucas exhaled deeply, trying to shake off the strange feeling that still lingered. The thought of that woman continued to disturb him, even as he prepared to face his daily routine and responsibilities as CEO of Blackwood Corporation. But deep down, the curiosity lingered, leaving him wondering who this woman was who had unknowingly shaken him to his core. Upon arriving at the office, Lucas walked swiftly toward his private room, his vision slightly blurred by the swirl of thoughts still clouding his mind. As the door opened, Sienna was already standing there gracefully, dressed in a soft pastel blouse paired with an elegant knee-length black skirt. Her hair was neatly styled, and her demeanor was calm and professional, as always. "I’ve prepared everything you need, sir," Sienna said in a soft yet formal tone, offering a slight smile. Her gaze was neutral, as usual, giving away nothing of the secret she held. Lucas gave a brief nod, paying little attention. "Thank you, Sienna," he replied, his voice flat. The thought never crossed his mind that the woman he had spent the previous night with was standing right in front of him. As Lucas moved past her to get ready, Sienna lowered her gaze for a moment, hiding a faint smile mixed with nervousness. To her, this was just another morning to be handled with the professionalism she always maintained. But beneath her calm exterior, only she knew the strangeness of hearing his voice, so unaware of who she truly was. To Sienna, this was simply a secret she had to carry quietly—a memory she would keep to herself alone. Almost half an hour had passed since Lucas entered his room. When he finally emerged, the familiar scent of his cologne filled the space—the same scent Sienna had breathed in last night, so familiar yet now somehow different. Sienna hesitated for a moment, her eyes unconsciously observing the authoritative figure standing before her. Something made her heart race, but she quickly dismissed the feeling. Sienna took a deep breath to calm herself. She noticed that Lucas hadn’t put on his tie, and as his secretary, she knew what she needed to do to maintain the CEO's professional appearance. "Your tie isn’t on yet, sir," Sienna said with a polite smile, keeping her tone steady. "If you don’t mind, may I help you with it?" Lucas looked at her briefly, a little surprised, but then gave a small nod. "Of course, Sienna." Sienna carefully stepped closer, her heart beating faster as she stood only inches from him. With practiced hands, she took the tie and began to put it on with skillful ease, trying to focus and not be distracted by the familiar scent of his cologne—a reminder of a night no one could know about. Her hands trembled slightly, but she maintained her calm expression. Lucas remained silent, observing Sienna’s expertise in her movements, unaware of the complexity of her feelings in that moment. Once the tie was perfectly in place, Sienna took a small step back and gave a faint smile. "All done, sir." "Thank you, Sienna," Lucas replied warmly. And with that, he turned to leave, unaware of Sienna’s quiet struggle to steady her emotions beneath her composed exterior. Sienna slowly stepped back, creating a bit of distance between herself and him. Not a hint of suspicion crossed Lucas’s mind toward his secretary.
